Size of the SD card has nothing to do with which Pi it's in, or which version of the PiOS you are using. It's the quality of the card that matters. I have 2 Pi zero W's running 128G SanDisk cards

Re: New user, startup issues
I have had power supplies that are too low of current cause same issue, freezing, rebooting etc. if you’ve got another 5VDC
supply that has higher amperage, try that.
Good luck

Since you have a W10 machine. Eliminate the USB hub, Keyboard and mouse, by plugging it into the W10 machine and test.
Is the mouse arrow frozen or is the mouse missing? You really don't know

Which “class” of SD Card are you using? Which brand? I’ve had good luck with the SanDisk Ultra series.

Re: New user, startup issues
Your SD card is probably bad. Try another. If that doesn't work, then perhaps you have a bad Pi. Try another, they are cheap. This is rare, but I have seen it happen.
Let us know how it works

Yes, but same theory with the 3B and 3B+. The way the stacked sockets are made they don't hold any vertical tension on the connectors, so even the standard USB2 pins can have erratic connections

When he is talking about "the inner 4 pins that the USB3.0 uses." would mean that it is a Pi 4 which has USB 3.
