Re: RPi 3 B+ and TNC-Pi2

I wrote a set of instructions and some scripts to set up a Raspberry PI and one or more TNC-PI.  It’s on tarpn.net. The result is a specific purpose packet station intended to create a text messaging network.  The system is very easy to install and operate and there are about 30 stations using the plan at this time in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and North Carolina, possibly Texas soon.

Check http://tarpn.net   then  click on the Builders link at the top, and then look for "Set Up Raspberry PI to be a TARPN NODE”

Our group has come up with our own version of the TNC-PI which Coastal Chipworks also markets.  In addition we have a custom board for running the Raspberry PI off of 13.8v, with automatic switchover to battery backup.  We have construction plans for cabinetry to hold ham radios along with the packet system.   If you are doing packet radio over ham radio, you’ll probably be amused by some of our material.

Since this one looks interesting and my message for different groups have been getting bounced (so far I think just Yahoo), figured I would give this a try.

Yes, indeed I tried pip3 installing it, but, the install failed w/ a whole bunch of errors.

I tried also w/ pip install – same results L

Does anyone here have any recommendations for Python libraries to decode the incoming AX25 format.  Once I get the decoding out of the way, I am planning on using APRSLib to parse and do the processing over the parsed object.

Thanks all
