Re: RaspberryPi-4-HamRadio] Which adafruit?

Harry Latterman

I was wondering about the mac or pc myself.  I have only a Pi 3B with 1gb ram and Ham-Pi seems to run great so far.  Wsjt-X, FlDigi and much more. A Pi 4 4 GB appears to be overkill. I could be wrong since I have only been using Ham-Pi for a short while, but it will do everything a PC or Win Tablet will do in a much smaller package.

Why do you need a Mac (or a PC)? The Pi will do it standalone.

And even better, especially if it is a long link, to enclose it so line wrap doesn't kill it. <link>

I use diskpart on a Windows machine to remove any write protection, clear partitions, clean, and format the cards.  Minimizes issues with creating new image.

I downloaded the image from the GitHub site on a Win 10 machine, unzipped the file and using the etcher from the Raspberry Pi site, etched it onto a 32G Sandisk SD card it was validated successfully by the same software. It installed onto the Pi with no problem. I checked all of the files and they’re all working. I did all this on my first try.

Hi Larry, a working version

it really seems to be somewhat critical/complicated to create a working version of Ham-Pi. I have created a working version of Ham-Pi with my Linux machine, using Raspberry Pi Imager v 1.5. Balena Etcher I have used previously as well for creating a normal raspbian SD-Card. With a SD-Card that was in use previously I failed several times until until I deleted the ohis way it worked.ld partitions and created a single new partition that I formatted with fat32 manually. Afterwards I ran Raspi Imager to create the SD-Card. This way it worked for me.

Hi Larry,

After being in contact with Dave 1.2 is the current version. There is no 2.0 version as I far as I know.
