Subject: [RaspberryPi-4-HamRadio] FIeld Day specific logging with Rig interface

Any thoughts on a Field Day specific logging app with rig interface (to capture freq/band, mode, etc) that runs on the pi?

CQR log doesn’t really fit for Field Day.

Im looking at so2sdr, but I’m not sure I get how it operates - need to play with it a bit more:
https://github.com/n4ogw/so2sdr

any other apps to look at?

I’m seeding to 4 peers right now with total rate of 40 KiB/s.

Looks like the torrent method is proceeding nicely.

Re: HamPi 1.0 Released!

What size in the .img file that you have?
You don't need to format the SD Card, the raw image copy program will take care of it (and will overwrite it anyway).
Are you using Balena Etcher to copy the image to the SD Card?
If that doesn't work, provide details.

HamPi Problem: SDRPlay not working with GQRX

Tried to post as a New Issue in Github, but could not access my new account successfully.  So posting here Dave.... SDRPlay RSP2 working with Cubic SDR -- but NOT GQRX.  Otherwise, I see no other bugs yet.

Usually when I click on a link it asks me if I want to use Torrent, so far it hasn't.

7Zip did it for me!  Tnx!!!  50 years a ham, but a Novice Pi-Guy.   Downloaded the .tar, used 7Zip to extract the image, then used Balena Etcher to Flash a Micro SD card.  Solid performance so far on the Pi4B.

Dave, I tried to send you a eQsl... :-)    Thank you for the very FB product!  I'm exploring it now...lots of goodies loaded in here.

It didn't go into specifics about the latest Buster release, so not sure if they deprecated it.  May need to VNC in and use the gui to rotate, or use the xrandr commands they show for the 4 and see if those work.

I just now today learned that one can change the screen orientation on a Pi. That said, I haven't done anything to prevent it, simply because I didn't even know it was possible. And even if I did know, I see no reason to take that ability away.

Actually it's a 3B.

Thanks.

Don't forget that to properly support Bittorrent uploads, various port forwards must be enabled on your router.  Without them, your system won't be a viable uploader.

Hi John,

No tip jar. I am a curator of this software collection and 99% of what is on the image I did not write, so I would not feel good profiting from it.

However, on the desktop of the GUI, you'll see a file called "GIVE BACK". That indicates what charitable organizations I support and which you can help out.

Hi Charlie,

You're welcome! I recommend a minimum of 16GB SD card, but 32GB would be preferred. 32GB cards are around $8 USD so they're quite affordable.

Once BitTorrent is running, it's all automatic. Just leave it running for a week or so until the majority of everyone gets the build.
