Re: Missouri Amtrak question
TZ,
I read that the truck was loaded, and going westbound toward the conservation district lake. That would make it's direction of travel, northbound. At least that is what I read from a news

Missouri Amtrak question
I’ve been monitoring the recent Amtrak derailment in Missouri and was hoping that someone might answer a question.
For sake of discussion let’s say that the tracks are east-west and the county

A fading sign of the time
Up on Raton Pass the Santa Fe Railway set up two billboard signs for the benefit of its passengers.
Both still exist however the (Wooton) Ranch and Santa Fe Trail one is becoming more dilapidated.

Re: Big Boy excursion this July
Since the train is originating in Cheyenne why don’t they offer a southbound trip to Denver one day and a northbound return trip to Cheyenne the next day?

It’s a UP Museum benefit trip. Which means expensive tickets.

Re: H&TC 1873 promotion
Somewhere I have a picture of the swing bridge in Hannibal across the river. This was from back in the late 80s/early 90s on a family vacation when I was about 10-11 years old. It was already NS then.

Amtrak wreck
Sounds like the usual blame game has started. A NTSB spokesman is blaming the railroad.

Re: H&TC 1873 promotion
So does the original Katy line still exist into Hannibal MO. ? Service now provided by another carrier ? I thought I read some time back that it was abandoned.
