Re: The other (Texas) Eagle

That's a great timetable!  The Eagle of the Rails service life was brief.  I did not see mention of this in Steve Goen's Passenger Trains of Texas, but this "Eagle" only operated into Texas  (Jonesboro AR-Dallas TX) for three months, October 29, 1933 to January 27, 1934.  At that time, it was cut back to operate Pine Bluff-Texarkana only.  On March 31, 1935 this last vestige was replaced by a conventional train, ending the rail bus experiment on the Cotton Belt.

The late Jim Bennett, Cotton Belt historian from Stuttgart AR, self-published a booklet in 1997 with details of the Cotton Belt motor bus operations, including this rail bus experiment, from which the above information is derived.
