My FRISCO passenger timetable collection is a bit spotty. The August 1953 issue is the last one that shows trains 517-518 going to both Dallas and Ft Worth. From what I see in Table 17 below, it certainly appears the train called at Dallas Union Terminal, then turned and went on to Ft Worth.
How did they time to turn the “Gold” in Dallas in just 20 minutes ??? Knowing DUT crews performed switching, they would have used Union Terminal’s Wye, and those fellas with 7-Spot never moved that fast !!! So who was it done ??
Note, the timetable allowed 1’10” between Dallas and Ft Worth which suggests routing over the RI. Hummmm
