Mod-fw of UHSDR 2.11.92m2
I'm posting a new version of my mod-firmware 2.11.91m2. Since I have already linked the Amber-RF upgrades in the firmware, at the same time I made improvements at the request of my colleagues:
- Added saving in configuration of ANR settings.
- Changed the boundaries of the CB bands - 26 MHz [25.67-26.95 (9) MHz] and 27 MHz [26.96-27.99125 MHz]. The result is full UK CB coverage when both bands are opened.
By the way, while working on the firmware, I discovered that any of the four address ports of the optional "PA" connector can be configured as a digital input, which opens up interesting prospects for connecting all kinds of peripherals.

Hi Yuri, is it possible to modify the software in order to have the line input enabled at the same time as D-IQ. If this were possible we could connect the radio to HDSDR and have TX audio.
As far as I am aware when the radio is set in D-IQ mode all the other inputs are muted. With HDSDR it is not posdible to use the software to transmit as this requires the implementation of Extio.dll. UHSDR does not support this so the only way to get tx audio into the radio when in D-IQ mode is to enable one of the other inputs at the same time. Thanks for the excellent work. GW7VFJ. |

Hi Steve
I will look about this. I will, if possible. |

Hi Steve
Did you searche to use microphone while usinf IQ-Dig with HDSDR program for monitoring ? If its the case i have already tested some modifications of firmware and it seems running ok with Rig microphone. But frankly i do not use HDSDR indeed i do not found any advantages after installing automatic touchescreen tune on my modded firmware, by far i prefer use the graphic interface of the radio then the HDSDR. 73s Nizar |

Hi Yuri
Problem with AM (not SAM) and DSP. When I switch to DSP in AM mode I can change the value of the noise reduction. However when I do a next push on the DSP button the RS-918 freezes and nothing further can be done. The only way to restart the RS-918 is to pull out the power plug and put it back in. Is this only a problem on my rig or is it firmware related? Thanks in advance and continue your good job. Dick |

Hi Yri
If it does occure eatch time with a different firmware that may mean its your hardware problem , if not it may be this modded firmware one. Just give it a try and see. 73s Nizar |

Hi Dick
If you are talking about the NR noise suppressor, it slows down and can cause the system to freeze when the bandwidth is more than 2.7 kHz, especially since you have an R918 with a "weak" processor. Do not turn it on if the bandwidth is wider than 2.7 kHz, it's simple. Look here: https://www.amateurfunk-sulingen.de/forum/index.php?board=15;action=display;threadid=1674 |

Hi Yuri
The bandwith is indeed the cause of this problem so it is hardware related. Tks vy much for this explanation. 73 Dick |

Hi Dick
I never have this freez issue with AM demod even with DSP ON , I will test it further next week with my modded firmware, you can give it a try quickly if you wish to download : https://groups.io/g/RS-918-HF-SDR-Transceiver/files/%3C%3C%20RS-928%20%3E%3E%20%20and%20related%20information/fw-mchf_build_180_RS928p.rar Have a good Luck . 73's Nizar |

Hi Nizar
I have tried your software link and indeed the AM with DSP problem was gone. However there were other problems e.g. I could not change the bandwith in AM and there was only an s-meter reading in USB mode and a zero reading in other modes etc. So I went back to the software of Yuri. Thanks for your info. 73 Dick |

Hi Dick
Thanks for testing the modded software, OK for the Freez issue which has disappeared, for Smeter indeed i am in developpement of the new Smeter to be more reactif and more realistic on SSB but still not tesing it on other demod-modes ( no radio here in my hands, next week it will be tested and debuged ), same thing for AM bandwidth, i think there are already the classsic ones (original UHSDR Bandwidths ) but not Yuri wide band ones , so may be the filters menu should be adjusted again . Max audio volume setting should be increased on menu to 70 to have good volume, and Power setting should be twice the older ones. You can try also an other modded software ( tested one) : https://groups.io/g/RS-918-HF-SDR-Transceiver/files/%3C%3C%20RS-928%20%3E%3E%20%20and%20related%20information/fw-mchf_build_162_RS928p.rar Thanks & 73's Nizar |

Hi Yuri,
I installed your firmware in order to use a transverter 28/144. Great firmware ! I appreciate the scope / waterfall on the entire width of the screen. About the transverter function, is it possible to active / desactivate the transverter without going on the menu ? Thanks per advance, Gille,s F5AGL |
|
In the F-menu carousel (long presses of M1) there is a menu for working with transverters. For memory cells F1,2,4,5. Long press - save settings, short press - activate. Short press F3 - show / hide the table of memory cells, long press - turn off the transverter mode and return to the main F-menu.

Hi Yuri,
I'm using your 2.11.95m1r on a r928+ and excluding some details it works good. Any further improvements to the above version ? Best & 73 Luca |

Thanks Yuri,
I discover the "F-menu carroussel"... and new questions.... sorry ! First of all, maybe is there a manual for this firmware somewhere ? About transverter configuration, i went on F-menu, that's ok, and then on the XVTR menu (as your photo), that's ok. After that, how do you configure each transverter ? I configured 1 transverter on the menu section ("configuration menu") but in the "F-menu carroussel", values was not the same... i'm confused about that... Thanks in advance, GIlles, F5AGL |
