Thankyou for allowing me to join this "New Group"!!! I hope this works
better, to everybody's satisfaction. Pleasing everybody all the time is
probably not possible, but at least we will not be constanly bombarded
by free this, XXX that, and what ever other junk (SPAM) that seemed to
recently over run the rrforsale group!!!!!! Glad to see that someone
decided to do something about the situation, other than just gripe and
complain!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance,
Sam Smith

Status Report.
Not so good.
Only 15 members out of the 500 from rr4sale.
Not sure how to promote it.
Any ideas?
I could go through rr4sale's member list and send an email to each one.
Any one want to help moderate?
Right now each prospective member must be approve and all new members are moderated until I'm satisfied they are safe to post.
All you have to do is hit the reply button on any request to join or post.

Patience. It'll work in time!
I'm impressed we have as many as 15 members, and we JUST STARTED! (So to speak. )
Emails to former group members isn't a bad idea, but that's a lotta names!
I'd perhaps be a bit more selective, ie: I'd email the more active members of the old group.
That's my $0.02.

Don,

The reason I'm patting you on the back is, I don't know anything about how to "run" one of these groups. Otherwise, I would have done exactly what you did!!!!

A friend of mine (I'm glad to say), Bob Harpe, moderates some Southern groups, and he stopped them folks cold, when they started showing up on those groups. How he did it or what, I have no clue!

If I can help, I will, but you gona have to tell me a little more than "hit the the reply button on any request to join or post. I asume there is some way of blocking or cutting off folks that turn out to be spamers?

Also, I don't know much about anyone else, but I do work a regular 10 plus hour a day job, and a side job, so, not to be ugly, but I don't spend hours on end sitting in front of the computer. BUT, if you still think I can help, please advise, and I will do everything I can to promote this new group!!!

By the way, TAP LINES? Is that like as in the custer of old short lines in South Georgia? If so, I think I'm smack dab in tha middle of 'em!!!!!!

Thanks,

Sam Smith
