Gerry, Thanks for the info. My vote is to get rid of the whine as it overpowers the engine exhaust sound.

Re: Alco RSD-15 derailing
Hi John, A frend had this same problem with two of his RSD-15s, and we
found that the center axle sat at a lower position than the outer
axles. We disassembled the trucks and bent the bearing

Rick,
that from new sounded as if it has a turbo as it has a very distinct
whine. Nothing like the E7 or other first generation EMD's I have. <<<

Re: No sound from an Alco RSD-15
I had a similar problem on my BLI unit, and found a defective speaker to be the culprit.
Suggest you contact them for a replacement.

Re: Eureka 620/720 railmotor set: Changing the horn (short / long )
Hi Gerry,
Thanks for the quick reply. We'll try to convince the owner of the
many benefits of DCC ;-) I think he will be happier it in the long run.
Cheers,

Hi Rick;
Check the archives for information on the GP9 sounds, and Gerry provided instructions in that series of notes on how to turn off the turbo whine.

The plan for Analog DC was to offer an "Enhanced Quantum Engineer"
