Re: Wiring diagram for Atlas Trainmaster with QSI sound.
Larry.I just metered the track plugs. The 2 pins next to the capacitors go to one side and the other 2 go to the other side. Also the lighting voltage is 5 volts not 12.
Alan.

Larry,
The right side wires go to the rear or Capacitor end. In the files area there is a file called Quantum1Lighting_1_1_1.pdf that shows all of the connections. It does not show which wire from

Yes, the decoder is exactly as you describe. That’s pretty much my understanding but on the two plugs used for track power, does each plug have a right and left wire or does each plug

Re: Wiring diagram for Atlas Trainmaster with QSI sound.
Does your decoder have 6 plugs on it?
If so the 4 pin plug near the large capacitors is the rear light (red and brown wires)
The next 2 plugs side by side are track power (black wires)

From the discussion so far, it is my understanding that D# chime is the loudest of three. More like a distress sound. The other two complement the first, more like a cord.

I guess what I'm finding out from this thread, is: The Canadian gov't tells the railroads which horn to use. They want a distinctive one that don't sound like anything else. Not a U.S. loco horn. Not

The D# minor triad is mandated by Canadian Law because it is so displeasing.
Train horns derived from boat horns and so the pleasing, or less harsh, tones of most.

I’m not an expert on train horn makes and models, but this confuses me. Not sure what a “D# dominant” is (D# minor is D#-F#-A#, the “dominant” of that minor chord would be an A# major

Re: QSI Q1a Ontario Northland horn
Alex;
As these are Canadian units, they will have the Canadian D# minor chord. Quite harsh and not a US sound at all.
From looking at pics it appears to be a Holden (Nathan) K3HR. Maybe Dan can
