Re: Contacting qsi regarding purchasing a new programmer.

Folks I have a QSI programmer that I'm willing to sell. I was in contact with Morgan Bilbo but since I don't have a manual he doesn't seem to be interested. The programmer has the powersupply, USB cable and the track connection which at this is a couple of wires with Alligator clips. It has been used a couple of times but I don't have the locos anymore. This will go to the first person that contacts me and purchases it.

Joe, the Hudson board is it the two piece board where the decoder board plugs into a main board. I do have  one in my collection of bits but it’s a two part board and I’ve forgotten what the early Hudson board  looked like. PM me if it is like that.

I need some help locating a circuit board for subject loco.  While trying to replace the QSI chip with an upgraded version I broke the chip holder off the board.  Can anyone point me to where I can find a replacement?

Thx,

Joe, the board was made by BLI, the decoder by QSI. Your best bet is to contact BLI although after all this time I doubt if they are available.

Joe,

If the board was made for BLI, QSI probably can't legally sell you a replacement board.

Joe, the board was made by BLI, QSI only supplied the decoder. You can contact BLI but I doubt if those boards are available now.

Hello Joe,
The socket is a standard part. Take the board to a Computer motherboard/Mobile repairs technician. He has all the equipment, ( like a hot air gun etc) and the skills to replace the socket. But it remains to be seen if the costs are worth it.
Best regards
Donald

The best option is to contact Kelly Dorf. I am not sure if there are replacement boards around

I have similar problem. I decided to replace plcc32 socket with the new one. I shall use hot air gun and with some soldering hope to have the socket replaced. As a result of using plcc32 socket with broken pins I was able to corrupt three QSI Q1a gen 7 chips. So, don’t try to change sound files unless the socket is fully functional.

I am sure it's a standard part, but you have the expertise or equipment needed to replace it.?

Hi folks,

I have been trying to buy a programmer and a couple of decoders for about two years now and fired off countless inquiries to Kelly. I am not sure if there are even decoders available anymore since all channels remain silent so far. I also don't reach him via phone. Does anyone know more about things at QSIndustries?

Kind regards
Sarah

i programmed mine with Decoderpro and used QSI Titan Ver 8.     Everything programmed just fine.     I thought the instruction sheet mention "titan".    Now I think they may have reduced some of the sound options such as horns and prime movers since it was just for EMD, but not sure.

Unfortunately when the groups messages are viewed on the groups.io website, it hides the real email addresses in the messages. Not sure if this is the same when accessing the group via email.

Unless someone posts Kelly's address in a way that fools the automatic hiding of addresses, you will never know the full email address.

If someone would post that email address as  "kelly dot dorf at someaddress dot com" should bypass the automatic obfuscation. Of course then you will have to manually type the address replacing the "dot" and "at" with the actual characters.

i understand the current sunset o scale gp9 comes with a qsi decoder. does anyone know details of what it is? the "manual" link on the sunset website links to a pre-titan qsi manual.

thanks,
calvin.

Did anyone wanted to buy a QSI programmer? I have one that I will sell, do not need it anymore. Please send me an E-mail and we can work out the details.
