Re: Titan Question

MfG,

This is just for the U, with the A format you have to find the 12v and ground connections. I will look to see if I have a picture of the A board with where these connection points are. Will reply when I locate my diagram.

Most manufacturers reccommend to use only their own product, except Zimo where you can just solder up 7 capacitors, connect to the decoder and you are done.
I have 4 Titans and would also like to add keep-alive but someone once sent me a drawing of a circuit that is required and I never got down to making one.
It would be interesting to know if an off-the-shelf keep-alive could be added to a Titan without modifications. I have O-scale DX-DO's and 10/20 Amp G scale Titans.

That update procedure came too small, I'm sure for many.  I'll See if I can enlarge it and resend.

Mr. Moderator, shouldn't this go to the Files section, if it works for the Quantum Programmer?

Here is the work around for the Microsoft updates.  Install and plug in your devices and have them running.  I have never seen a QSI Programmer.  So I hope this works for you. C.

This has also worked for me with 32-bit.
Ignore the circled link.

Win10 Updates Tank Unsigned Drivers

Charley Goddard <cgalfa@...>

Peter, Microsoft locks out Unsigned Drivers.  Microsoft protects from UDs that haven't received their approval, a commission I would guess.  I have the same problem with a Lenz system every time there is an Update.  I think that I have the procedure in my laptop, and I know that I made a hard copy.

I'll go to my other computer and try to find it.  If not I'll update my scanner and scan my hard copy for you.  If that doesn't work, I'll type out the steps for you  and the Group.

How about adding a different screen to the older laptop? I have personally downgraded all of my windows 10 machines due to 10 being exponentially slower to start up and get going and 10 basically doing whatever it wants, when’s it wants regardless of my desires to want to manage the computer, updates, etc.

perhaps it's windows defender that is detecting the drivers or some component as malware. try turning off windows defender

Bruce, I would put the engine on a program track and see if I could read that CV. Then I would make one change and write it to the decoder to see how it works. I would not use a write all command, especially on a sound decoder. Are you sure you have the correct CV number and correct values?

Hey gang, so I have an atlas0 2 rail SW type diesel switcher with factory DCC. I’ve grown tired of the horn and thought I would see if I’ve really learned anything about decoder pro. I’ve looked up the CV , I think I need to change CV 55 to get a different horn. I looked up the atlas CV’s had found a five chime,  which I know is ridiculous for this little switcher, but I just wanted to see a difference so I think I’ve programmed CV 55 as 13.  I’ve written changes to all sheets but nothing has changed.  I’m using the programming track and a program track booster. . Am I missing something? Or is this a case where you can’t really go in and change one CV because this is maybe a  titan decoder ?

Re: CV Manager

Lou

Jay,

Not quite sure what you are asking but I’ll give it a shot. CVManager is a program like Decoder Pro for programming and storing decoder information. It is the best, IMO, for programming QSI decoders. It will work with non QSI decoders, but only limited CV’s and to do so you must know specifically what each CV is for. It is not guided like Decoder Pro is.

CVManager is built to work with the QSI programmer. The programmer will not work with non-QSI decoders, although at one time it did work. However, CVManager will work with the NCE command station, but only with the NCE programming track. When working with QSI decoders I would get everything working with CVManager. When I was happy with the operation I would then use Decoder Pro to make a record of that decoder which I could then use like I did all my other decoders.

     Hope this helps.
