Hi Lou,

I looked for post number 53630 on the JMRI groups in Groups io and found no such number.   Dapenquin notes that there are three different JMRI groups.   To which group are you referring?

Well it is transferred. The last message transferred is mine from 10/21 so I will get the rest and any files or photos.
The pending members were reduced to 1 which I have approved. There were 18 not transferred due to error and I will send invites. Some statistics are below. Fear not, only bouncing members were auto dropped. I'll possibly send them invites. But if they are bouncing.......

No extra 200$ but is done.  I have 2 other groups at the 500+ place in the line.  It is going quick as this group was # 80+ this morning.

Wow TC, looks like the transfer completed already?  That was fast!
The group I'm transferring is still queued up behind 511 other groups. Did you pay the extra $200 to expedite the transfer?

Greetings fellow members;

I have started the move to groups.io <QSIndustries@groups.io>.

DO NOT join the new group.  Wait for the transfer.  If your addy fails I will send you an invite.

Any who have promised or want to contribute to the cost please send money to paypal address <tc2 at dapenguin dot net>.  Mark it as personal and put QSI in the notes.

Thank You,

TC Carr

I will rock your list:)

Been there and done that many times. As far as I know the drivers are signed as I never had any complaints during the install process. I also was semi-successful on one machine.

Lou,

Prior to the install did you perform the special shutdown and restart to start up window 10 in the mode that allows it to load drivers that are not signed?

I have come to the conclusion that the driver supplied by QSI no longer supports the programmer chip set. That version also does not provide a virtual serial port driver to use the programmer in JMRI. Gerry Pruss worked on getting the programmer with JMRI, maybe he needs to do something again to get the programmer to with current SLI drivers. They also need to find out why the drivers don’t work with the programmer in USB mode.

Which JMRI group on .io?  There are 3 of em.

Driver modifications for Quantum Programmer

Lou

Hello group.

I finally found the directions for getting the SILabs drivers to work with
the programmer. Please note these are old instructions and may or may not
work on Win 10.

However, I followed these instructions on my old XP computer and they worked
fine. When I upgraded to Win 7 they continued to work. They continued to
work on an upgrade to Win 10. However, a clean installation of Win 10
started the failures. I plan to try these modifications on the later SILab
drivers to see if I can get them to work again.

The instructions to make the change are found in the JMRI group on .IO in
message number 53630 titled QSI, JMRI and the Mac. Gerry Pruss was involved
in the fix way back then. If these changes don't apply anymore maybe he can
get involved again. I know a small batch of programmers were released a
while back and I know it is used by some model OEMs. I wonder if Gerry fixed
the problem on Win 10?

Good luck.

Lou

Ed,

The negative, for the small capacitor, is also negative for the entire board.  If you are familiar with the negative output of the bridge rectifier, you can test with a meter to be sure.   That is where you can solder the stay alive's black with white stripe wire.

The blue wire is soldered to the +12V contact (opposite side of the motor contacts).

TC,

If our talking about the +/- that are parallel to the short edge, those have the small capacitor wired into those openings.
