Yes, good on QRZ.

John,

Well, IC6 is actually there and in the correct orientation, that's a good thing. What I can't ascertain from the photo is the integrity of the solder joints. I understand personally your limited vision, mine's no better. Do you have someone that could carefully hit the solder joints on IC6? Also peruse the entire board for SMD parts that may be missing or misplaced.

Worst case scenario, you could ship it back to me and I could attempt repair. Solution beyond that would be up to Hans. Rest assured that the problem will be resolved one way or another.

PIC  message 95501.
For my eye, unremarkable.

Could you inspect the solder on the EEPROM chip (IC6) and possibly send me a high-res picture of it?

John,

Something someone else found https://groups.io/g/QRPLabs/message/94926 compare your QDX with the pictures in the manual - just possible a chip is missing.

I DL the 1_05.QDX, extracted and copied to QDX (G:) the red flashing LED stopped. I then removed power and then added power.
The flashing red came back and the QDX G: is empty again and I have the red LED flashing back.
I did this sequence three times and get the same results. The QDX file does not stay in G:

There are no files listed in QDX (G:)
I will go to get them.

Connect it to your computer via USB. It should appear as a flash drive. Verify that there are two files in it, an EEPROM.QDX file and a firmware file. If the firmware is missing, simply paste the current firmware into it. If both files are there, try turning on your power supply and let it stabilize before you connect it to the QDX.

John,

I have not seen any information on LED-2 flash diagnostics.  The one comment I remember from Hans is that the board assembly uses it to verify the build.  The important information is from Panel LED1.  It should go through a rapid flashing on power up, then go to a constant one until transmitting.  All of that is in the manuals.

I measure 5.04 output on IC2 and 3.2 from IC1.

John,

Also please describe in detail the red LED's flashing pattern/timing. It likely will help determine what the issue is.

Yes, increase the voltage to 7+ volts.  But that blinking LED is a good thing -- it means you probably don't have any major short-circuits.

Hi John,
The first thing you should do is increase the voltage to 7.5 volts.  The 78M05 regulator needs at least 2 volts of headroom to operate correctly.

Try 7.5 volts as a starting point.
