I know it's here somewhere: Toroid adjustments for QCX+20

Totally welcome - that was an easy one :-)

High of 73? You just love to taunt me, don't you? ;-)
Mother nature dropped by last night for - and with - a cold one: we enjoyed 11F overnight. Even my basement is too cold to work in right now. We've been below average for weeks. I got frost-bite on my finger-tips as a kid, so I'm particularly susceptible to it, and wearing any kind of gloves while trying to build kits is an exercise in frustration. We'll see spring soon, I hope: Father Richard wants his kits built, and I might need him to put in a good word for me with the Big Guy Upstairs ;-)

40m windings usually work per the book, Charles.

Thanks, Julian!!!   As usual, " you da man!!".  Forty-eight and sunny here today and headed for a high of 73.  Think Spring!  Cheers, K

Julian et al,

Are there any changes for the 40m windings for the QCX+? Like Keith, I'd like to have things right from the start :-)

Keith,
L3, two turns less than spec for 20m, so 14 turns instead of 16. You should quite readily notice a peak in power as you adjust the turns from fully spread out around the toroid to tightly compressed.
Make sure you follow the "winding direction directions" (!) as this will make a difference to the ease with which you can move the windings around.

I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, so I'll ask. I'm about to begin my new QCX+20 and seem to recall that many builders find that removing several turns off a specific toroid/coil is eventually necessary.  I'd rather build it that way if it will save trouble later. Will anyone care to chime in and direct me a bit?  Which coil?  How many wraps to use for best results?  Thanks in advance.  Keith AG5GW
