QCX+ kit manufacturing update

Hi all As mid-June approaches, which is the new QCX+ kit's approximate due-date - see http://qrp-labs.com/qcxp - time for a progress update! Manufacturing of the QCX+ enclosures, PCBs (QCX+, Dev kit and TCXO) and the assembly... is all completed! "Assembly" being the SMD soldering of the Si5351A and FST3253 parts, and assembly of the optional TCXO module SMD parts http://shop.qrp-labs.com/qcxptcxo . All the other components are also sourced and ready, including the US origin ones which we imported already. The PCBs, enclosures and several other components were all packed up in QRP Labs' Shenzhen warehouse. 295kg in 15 boxes! They were picked up by FedEx' local partner today (see attached!). Now they are travelling to Shanghai where they are currently scheduled on a Turkish Airlines direct flight to Istanbul on Monday15th June, then a domestic Turkish Airlines flight to Izmir where import customs take place, then a road trip for the last 300km to QRP Labs HQ. Here they will join the remaining components for final packing (that should be quick) and meanwhile I will as usual build one to make sure everything is fine. Then we will ship out chronologically by order placement date. Meanwhile I am working on the QCX+ manual and will try to finish it this weekend. 73 Hans G0UPL |

Thanks Ricky The QCX boards and enclosures didn't leave Shanghai on Monday, but they are booked on Turkish Airlines cargo flight TK6527 tonight, and will arrive in Istanbul tomorrow morning; the onward domestic flight to Izmir is TK2334 on Thursday. So I am expecting import customs procedures on Friday and a few days onward by road 300km South to me. All, Every time I see the name "Istanbul" I think of "Murder on the Orient Express", by Agatha Christie. As I travel by car a lot (well, I used to, "BC" - "Before COVID") I listen to audio books, and every now and again I listen to MOTOE narrated by David Suchet, who played Poirot for several years on the TV series. I believe David was the best Poirot ever. If you haven't heard him narrate MOTOE, your are missing an important experiene in life, IMO. The magical impression I get when I think of the Middle East is
old, traditional, romantic, and perhaps grossly unreaslistic and
out of date, but I enjoy thinking of traveling there anyway. I'm
sure Hans has lots of stories he could tell... (an egregiously

Ted, Thanks for the kind words :-) I haven't seen Albert Finney's Poirot, but I will accept your opinion as strong motivation to investigate and report. I really only know of the late Mr Finney from his role in the Jason Bourne series which, of course, was too little and too late in his career to permit any kind of comparison. I will rectify that! I'm also in a quandary about bands: 30 would fill the space
between my 20 and 40, but I hear that 80 is good for local work by
