QCX 40m HELP #qcx

Hi
I made 40 meters of QCX. Last time, I made 18 meters, but I also had a hard time at that time.
But this time I feel more troublesome.
I confirmed all the troubleshooting of the square box, but no problem at all. I tried to rewrite the firmware,
but I was able to read and write without problem with the CPU on board.
 I suspected the disconnection of Q5 and Q4, but there is no problem.
Is there any solution other than this?

Can you exchange the processor with the one in your 40m QCX?
There were some processors sent that were not programmed.

(I do not know what happens if you try reading and writing to a processor that is not pre-programmed.)

I am doing Upload again, but the state does not change. (Version 1.00 f)
I have a brand-new processor that does not contain anything.
The worst exchange is possible. Of course writing is also possible.

As the manual says the LCD display is not communicating with the processor.
Either the processor is faulty or there is a bad connection between the two.

A reliable check would be to put the processor into your 18 meters QCX.

Of course I did it.
Nothing started without any problems.
The voltage of IC is also measured, but it is almost the same as QCX 18 m.
The only difference is that the supply voltage is slightly different.
I understand that it is not communicating with the processor,
I can not find a bad place.

Double check the connection between the display and the processor.
I think that it is about there because it is extended.

Hello Mr. Ichikawa

A little hint about extension cables - if you are simply soldering flexible wires to the circuit board, use a hot glue gun to glue the wires to the board. That way the wires can't flex and break next to the board. The glue can be cut away if the circuit board needs repair in the wiring area.

Thank you so much.

thank you for the advice.
I do not use this kit as it is, because I use it in an enclosure, I think there is no worry of cutting.
We also paid 18 m QCX to the enclosure, and there is no trouble.

By the way QCX's GPS RXD input speed is fixed at 9600 pbs?
Is not it possible to change this? .
Because my own GPS receiver was 4800 bps.
I could change Ultimate 3 / 3S QRSS / WSPR kits, though.

Hot glue can be easily removed using 91% isopropyl alcohol.  Just put some on the hot glue and let it sit for a bit.
It should release easily from the PCB; leaving no trace of glue.
