|

I wonder how the new shipping arrangements will effect customs to the UK.
And in 364 days time it might all change again. If anything does go poop shaped and attract customs duties / VAT / Royal Mail collection fees then that's the end of it. It simply won't be worth the hassle any more, or the expense. Of course, I might just be being alarmist, and it will have no consequences at all. 73 de Andy |

Hi Andy Certainly Japan has no customs arrangements with the UK or the EU, and there were no issues until now, despite the complete lack of any customs arrangements. TA and G-land have close ties, and TA and EU have a "customs union" whatever that means. Therefore there is an extremely high probability that moving QRP Labs shipments from JA-land to TA-land will be of no consequence at all. I do not see how it could possibly make anything worse. So don't worry :-) I believe Brexit has no relevance (at least, not in this case). 73 Hans G0UPL On Fri, Mar 30, 2018 at 11:21 AM, Andy G0FTD via Groups.Io <punkbiscuit@...> wrote: I wonder how the new shipping arrangements will effect customs to the UK. |

There does seem to be some Magic in deliveries from Japan and China to the UK. Hans can get a small parcel posted in Japan to me in less time than the Royal Mail can get one delivered from less than 100 miles away in the UK and the same Postman delivers it by hand. I hope this magic continues, I don't think it can be found in writing, customs or other arrangements. Maybe it's 'back hand deals' or the fact that they don't have enough staff to deal with the volume. However anything from the US seems to come via a Northern depot and they seem to have the time to prod with metal spikes, inspect the documentation, apply VAT and the exorbitant charge for collecting it. I did recently risk a purchase from the US and got away with it,
this was via Amazon, is there another special arrangement in place
there I wonder, they pre charged an estimated very small fee which
they say can be re-claimed if it is more than the actual. Or will
I get a separate demand after some months. 73 Eddie G3ZJO On 30/03/2018 10:00, Andy G0FTD via

I suspect there is no manpower for it. > However anything from the US seems to come via a Northern depot and they seem to have the time to prod with metal spikes, inspect the documentation, apply VAT >and the exorbitant charge for collecting it. |

All Please do not worry about it. There is not going to be any problem. We have already shipped many items from KM46 to UK and never had any problems with it. An additional benefit will be that we will be able to add tracking to the packages, which we could not do in Japan because it was too expensive. 73 Hans G0UPL On Fri, Mar 30, 2018 at 3:01 PM, Andy G0FTD via Groups.Io <punkbiscuit@...> wrote: On Fri, Mar 30, 2018 at 04:44 am, npton wrote: |

Yes I did think 'knowing Hans he wouldn't go ahead without some test postings.' Who did you pay the back hander to. :-) Eddie On 30/03/2018 13:03, Hans Summers wrote:
