Another vote here for Hakko..I have the older version of the fx-888, plus their desoldering tool, plus their battery operated iron...and 5 star performance from all of them. Do be very careful about k

There is a lot more than just a couple relay boards and a set of LPFs. The formatting in the item description is a bit messed up, so that makes it a little confusing at first, there are 3 sets of item

I've gotten a couple shipments from China to Florida in the past few weeks, no noticeable slow down in delivery. Have another from Seeed that just shipped and appears to be moving thru the process as

Damn that Hans, sending extra parts. What has gotten into him? Hopefully he'll make these "improvements", do that "formatting polishing", and maybe even sell a kit or two someday.. :) :) :) Its obviou

U3S and GPS Module - Questions about Inductor and Resistor for powering an External Antenna
I did a couple turns on a small core, worked fine. Its not a critical value for the functionality required.

QCX Not-A-Case
Ok, so maybe I'm the only one missing something here, but..I don't see any photos. And I always love seeing creative "casing" ideas.

U3S No output.
I would expect you to, definitely. Are you using the QLG-1 gps board with the U3S? As I was building mine, modifying, and testing, with a single BS170 into a 50 ohm resistor as a quick and easy dummy

U3S No output.
Without the lpf relay board plugged in, and even with the relay/diode now installed on the U3S board, I think you'll need the 2 jumpers in place to essentially bypass anything related to the relay swi

Extraneous Vertical Bars On LCD Display
I had one fail in a similar way, clusters of extraneous pixels, just one day it started, no trauma to the display, etc. After checking for anything obvious, decided it wasn't worth any further effort

This thread definitely confirms why, I'm guessing, so many people just buy the pre-programmed chip from Hans and call it a day. I'm not a qcx owner, just a U3S and clock owner. I'm reasonably skilled

Which Version of Arduino Uno Board to Buy?
I use an arduino board as as programming socket, and a USBTiny from Adafruit to do exactly what you are suggesting. No reason the mkll wouldn't work the same way.

I echo the vote for Hakko. I have the analog predecessor to the 888D, and swear by it. I've used some of the cheaper import units, and while I see them as adequate, the Hakko's performance more than j
