Those ultra-mini transformers on BNC connector are very cute, but have one major drawback IMO. Because they are attached directly to the TRX, therefore they are at the ground level when oparating. Alt

I haven't tried them, but these are available and lightweight. The owner is a pretty stand-up guy as well! https://checkout.tn07.com/

SOTAbeams and QRPGuys sells trap kits. Price varies depending on how much power you want them to handle. I thought about this, but I went the simple route and did a 20/30/40 linked EFHW. 0dB insertion

Attached please find two vidios that I found helpful for making a 1/2 wave end fed antenna so an extra tuner is not required. Hope you like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-_LyhdGapM https://www.

Great results there, Axel. We'll be running off coin cells soon 😁 I've used the Recom DC-DC converters in my QCX kits and also dropped the LCD backlight brightness way down which has brought current c

BTW. The LT1366 is a bit expensive but there are other opamps that are much cheaper and approach the same success. You just have to consider that IC10 has to bring around 20mA-30mA ... but with IC6-IC

Hello Kees, The R48 change (from 270 to 1k5) saves 15 mA. Each opamp (IC6 to IC10) requires 10 mA ... the LT1366 requires 0.7 mA (I didn't change IC5 because low noise is important). So let's say this

Powering the QCX 50 amp via LIPO battery

Curt, Checking would be good. 5A at 20V would be 100W and at 70% efficiency minimum thats 70W out. I did that as a does it makes sense number. Typical input is abut 3.5A at 20V or 70-72watts DC and 50

Thanks Curt. I'm not too worried about the 5 amp current requirement. If you go high enough on the C rating of the battery you should have plenty of headroom. I'm just curious how hard the upper 22V u
