WWV transmits a 100Hz subcarrier with Time and Date information. The very old Heathkit “Most Accurate Clock” used that to set the clock, and that was Heathkit! Mine still works not it’s been recapped

My interest in this subject is automatically decoding an HF time source. It isn't because I need it or even think it is useful for almost anyone, but I think it is interesting. I'll take a closer look

Peter, It is cheap and simple to have your own GPS reference for HF up to about 14MHz fundamental. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VK2828U7G5LF-GPS-Module-with-Antenna-TTL-1-10Hz-with-FLASH-Flight-Control-

In some parts of Europe the Russian time station, RWM, can be received on 4.996, 9.996, and 14.996 MHz. I usually hear at least one of them in Oslo. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RWM

There is some Ardunio code sources that are available to do the decoding. A simple Internet search will find the code. Add a microprocessor and you should be all set. I hope this is a help.
