External Tuner w/QCX Mini - TUNE mode available?
I can't see the need for FT8, but that's just my view. :) Everyone has their own operating style. I got a really good deal on the T1 tuner, so why not give it a shot?

This post has absolutely zero to do with the QRP Labs product line and needs to be closed or removed. I don't see in the description that this is a general-discussion ham radio forum.

External Tuner w/QCX Mini - TUNE mode available?
Is there a "TUNE" function embedded somewhere in the QCX Mini that would lower PA output and give you a continuous tone for using an Elecraft T1 AutoTuner? MTR has one that drops the PA output power d

OK to use Elecraft T1 with QCX-mini?
I use one of these as a sanity check with my linked EFHW. Works well.

Battery & Charger Recommendation For SOTA
You don't need a 6Ah battery for SOTA. I've operated for 2 hours on an 850mAh LiPo battery pack. Way smaller, lighter, and cheaper than a BioEnno. You can pick up a 1500mAh for around $20USD.

BSS123 Where to buy?
I ordered 5 when I needed to replace mine. Let me see if I can scrounge the spares up. If I can, I'll drop a couple in the mail to you.

Battery for QCX Mini

Since I do SOTA I go ultralight. 850mAh LiPo has run the 17m Mini for 2 hours with room to spare. 74g vs 190g is a no-brainer for me.

Hard sidetone - Resolved on 17m Mini
Added a 140-43 toroid wound 4/4 + 1 pass-through onto the radio end of the coax. That solved the hard sidetone on my 17m Mini. Not so much on my 60m rig. Any suggestions on maybe a different toroid an

I'm running 15ft of RF174 in addition to a counterpoise and still get a harsh sidetone. :(

Something I've found is that if you have an EFHW and getting some RF back into the rig the sidetone will be extremely harsh. That could be exasperating the volume issue.

QSX Intro Date update?
Same here. I also prefer CW for SOTA because a lot of people are out hiking some areas looking for peace and quiet. Running CW they don't have to hear me calling "CQ CQ CQ Again 55 thanks 72". :)
