It would be, but it doesn't look like the 4800's will fill the bill. The 4809 won't be pin compatible as it has 48 pins. The 4808 has 32 pin and I cannot find anything that says it will be compatible

Only one big issue with it. Your choice is the 40 pin DIP (BIG!). Or the 44pin TQFP (or similar SMT). It is bigger flash and also 8 years old (possible EOL) plus anything but drop in for package. But
