Re: QDX burnt due high SWR antenna.

Hi Ken,
I'm doing the same after second round of bs 170 change. I already have some minor damage on pads but still manageable.
Thanks.

Re: unsoldering - a bit off topic
Yes that mirrors my learning process with braid exactly.
Love/hate relationship with steel wool! I use it in an area as far away as possible from any electronics.

Mike,
The trick to using solder wick is to dip it in flux first. Then it will draw the solder up into it. Without the flux first it has to get much hotter and won’t draw as much solder. Found it

Yeah dose the braid in liquid flux is a method i use and it can be very effective, and i believe you need to keep desolder
braid out of direct sunlight, no problem here in Northern

Thanks for the excellent tip about slow-solidifying chip removal material! I found Fast Chip and Chip Quick on Amazon. It's not cheap but it can definitely help remove modern pcb components without

vfo/signal generator user manual question
#tune
In section 2.7 of the user manual it talks about setting up the CLK0 frequency and the band limits. I thought the appropriate band relay was chosen from the frequency in the frequency display.

Amazing. You sure have impressed and excited me and I apologize for my serious lapse in attention to all of this!
Just because I can't launch a balloon doesn't preclude me from partipating so I will.

Re: QCX Mini PTT Modification
Thanks, Paul, for the comment. When I saw your circuit, I realized that I did over-engineer (as usual) my circuit. But there is a story for this. Initially I built a circuit that did extend the pulse

Re: Hamlib errors, failed PTT test, no transmission
Hans, I'm easily confused, that section is a mix of Linux/Windows so I thought that just referred to Linux.
Yes, I've suggested that many times on the WSJT-X group, why not this time?

Re: FS QDX v1 with case to USPS Domestic locations only
That's good to know. I kind of suspected the only hardware mod was the chocks. Compared to some mods I had to make over the decades that one is super simple.
I got my Birthday present the other day.

As I understand, v1_03 firmware requires no modifications to a revision 1 QDX. The manual for the revision 1 assembly covers the modifications tot he board that should be considered
