Re: New QLG2 serial output
Thanks Alan
Lots of good info there.
One point though - reconfiguring QLG2 output sentences is NOT required to work with QRP Labs products. The QLG2 will work with any QRP Labs products in the last 6

Re: Slightly off topic. (2) 40 meter QCX's and (2) antennas to compare on the reverse beacon network?
Martin,
I have switched back and forth thousands of times.
So yesterday I hooked up both QCX's to different antennas. One on 7.026 and the other on 7.020. I set a memory on both but, one signed /P. I

Re: 50W Amp--Anyone tried IRF520s?
I like that reply. It goes along with my favorite: Sure, go ahead. Plug it in and see if it works!
But on the serious side, I appreciate the detailed explanation you took the time to write.

Re: 50W Amp--Anyone tried IRF520s?
I'll fall to my favorite answer for things like this...
>> Try it and let us know... Never had anyone do that. <<
IRF520 is higher current device due to lower RDS on
(saturated switching not RF)

Thanks Dan. Did you try the HST in single paddle mode or side swiper (cootie)? I am looking at the Kent SP-1 and the Begali Simplex. From all reports, Cooties are terrible.

Re: Erratic Keying QCX Mini 40m (Rev. 2 board)
Jim
Well if it works just setting it slightly slower, you have a solution. Each rig may provide a slightly different delay in the sidetone or keying rate, that messes with our brain. Take your time

Re: 50W Amp--Anyone tried IRF520s?
I have not tried it but remember some discussion about others trying this. You might think the IRF520, 530 etc look attractive due to the higher power rating but this is for DC and low frequency

Re: Erratic Keying QCX Mini 40m (Rev. 2 board)
Jim,
Kent makes a great key. Begali makes an excellent key that's a work of art. N3ZN makes a great key too. On the single lever, consider trying one before you splurge. I tried Cookie's Begali HST.
