Re: Will QRP Labs be selling to Britain after Jan 1st 2021?
Andrew,
You need to read that again!
Although I did not see what would happen if someone did send something without VAT being paid.
A surcharge for the recipient like happens now if it is caught?

Re: Wind and install transformer T1, QCX+ 40m
Got my QCX+ 40M kit yesterday and managed to get T1 done and soldered on the board. I don't remember the first one I did 3 years ago being this hard but I guess at my age 3 years makes a big

QSL Oli,
What neat history and heritage. I can understand where your “knack” gene came from.

Those ultra-mini transformers on BNC connector are very cute, but have one major drawback IMO. Because they are attached directly to the TRX, therefore they are at the ground level when oparating.

Re: QCX QRO Party
Hi all
Not a lot of activity on 40m but I did make three QSOs ()no QCX):
YU7AOP Bogdan
PA3GRM Tymen with his K3, 400W and Dipole
UR4HD Igor
I called it a night after 45 minutes.

I haven't tried them, but these are available and lightweight. The owner is a pretty stand-up guy as well!

Re: QCX QRO Party
Hi All
I made it onto 40m for the 1900 session using my QCX 40 driving my Juma PA100-D amp and running about 50 watts into an efhw. There seemed to be a pile-up around 7024 to 7032 but I couldn't

Allison,
This is quite interesting. Did you build this for portable? Any chance of a quick sketch? I'd like to try it.

Interesting and added effort.
Consider this you have a QCX and battery plus key aaand all the usual
stuff in you pack for a day maybe over night in the field, maybe a mountain.

Re: Portable antenna suggestions for forthcoming QCX mini
There are at least 3 or more vendors making that style of antenna these days.
Generally for field use 10 is like 6M right now, line of sight use mostly.
The big two is 40 and 20, and that is fairly

Re: Portable antenna suggestions for forthcoming QCX mini
I thought about it, but with this one I went with simplicity and 0dB insertion loss.
I have 500m of SOTAbeams antenna wire waiting to be picked up at my Amazon Hub, so I'm sure this won't be my last

SOTAbeams and QRPGuys sells trap kits. Price varies depending on how much power you want them to handle.
I thought about this, but I went the simple route and did a 20/30/40 linked EFHW. 0dB

Re: Portable antenna suggestions for forthcoming QCX mini
Just in case anyone tries to look for the PAR EF40/20/10 antenna, they were sold to LNR Precision in 2010, who in turn sold them to Vibroplex in 2019. So you can now find them at
