Re: Linear amps for SSB taking 3.5 W up to 45 W - half decent Ebay offerings.
The Devil Made me Do It ! I have put a design file for a 7 Mhz Linear HF amp and photos of the final hardware in the Files section of this Group. Search for the PDF . It is a bit off the orig. topic

Hans
with all due respect to the superlative CW design I think they will find out about the limitations of the common bias design. Since you buy your Mosfets from a common supplier for quality reasons

Re: Linear amps for SSB taking 3.5 W up to 45 W - half decent Ebay offerings.
Has anyone tried the 50W QCX/QCX+ PA kit http://qrp-labs.com/50wpa biased for Linear Class AB? You'll probably find it pretty good.
Someone should try it and measure the IMD3, IMD5 etc... I will,

.urgghr !! I missed that because I knew that the original design was to amplify a unit Diz made for 10m. ! It is a case of not seeing the wood for the trees. BTW if you go and look at the video

Re: Advice re solar power?
Thanks for telling me about Feed2L it looks really good, The idea that the antennas don't have to be the same really got me thinking. I still have a couple of home made antenna relay boxes in my junk

Re: QCX+ TCXO only kit?
Hi Bob
Shipment from the US is according to stock availability and at our discretion, not guaranteed. But yes, if you ordered just the TCXO right now, it would be shipped from US on Monday.

Maurizio,
Check that the 5 volts is correct. It probably will be but just in case.

Qcx 40 no RF output
Hi everyone, I ask for your help because after many hours of honored service my qcx 40 has stopped working. I powered the radio with a 16.7 volt 4s lipo battery and suddenly the screen became white

Re: No 5 volts
Yes, you should get 5V out of the regulator with no load.
There are often small (less than 1uF) capacitors on the output of the 7805 regulators, sometimes tantalum. These have a nasty habit of

Great idea!!! Much easier to scan the board than using a loop. You will notice two places that look like splashes. One on the left side and one on the upper right. They both turned out to be fuzz from

Re: No 5 volts
Actually, there is 300 millivolts at the output of the 7805.
I am considering cutting the foil at the output of the 7805 to see if its a short causing the problem. The only question is, would I get 5
