Re: Two possible improvements for the QCX/QCX+
Is this to be a clock or a radio?
Part two if in the field do you carry a GPS or digital smart phone?
Do you need redundant time?
I'm trying to understand why this is a critical

1800hz, no idea where you get that.
See the plots on the stor page http://qrp-labs.com/polyphase.html
It mentions to 1800 hz for things like WSPR and other digital modes but
the board does as

Re: Polyphase board
Thanks for that Alison. The bandwith of the board (as supplied) tops at 1800Hz, Hans suggests that ssb should be okay but am I wrong in thinking 2400 would sound much different?
I would be using both

External amplifier control for U3
Hi.
I have ultimate U3, plate "Rev 2".
I want to put an external applicator to increase the output power
First I'm going to do the transformation to go from U3 to U3S.

Atmel and Microchip is one and the same also the largest MPU maker and has several
dozen architectures.
PIC16.18.24,32
MIPS,
ARM
8051 family based
and likely a few forgotten.

Re: Shipping FAQ
That and on the east coast much of the in coming goes though customs and
I've seen three weeks calendar time but a full 9 days of it was in customs.
Then again I also remember an order (NOT QRPL)

Re: Polyphase board
Have to ask. How much bandwidth do you need?
Nearly 3000hz is wider than most filters used in SSB transmitters.
Most of mine are 2.1 and 2.4Khz and 2.8khz is considered wide.
Also despite your RX

Jim, that sure does happen. Personally I would make a first step to see what signal is present along the IC1-6 to IC3C trace. If the Tune signal shows up when touching a probe to points along this

Has anyone changed resistor values on this board to increase the bandwidth for better ssb recovery?

Hi, Mark
I would start by taking a fine solder pencil tip and reflowing the connections on IC1. It wouldn't be the first time I saw a leg on an SMD chip hanging a couple of thou above

Some time ago I played with several versions of RTC modules from Ebay sources. These use various clock chips (get and review the datasheet) with slightly different functions. Some

Re: QCX finals blown?
Thanks Alan.
I've removed the finals and I'm getting a nice almost 5v p-p on IC3 pin 3 now so I seem to have avoided more damage. I'll replace Q6 too.

I have 2x QCX 14MHz and 7MHz. QCX 7MHz I mounted SMD resistors and capacitors. And I have to say that the receiver on the QCX 7MHz works better.

The idea of a mini (or micro) QCX really excites me.
For sometime I have been looking at the options for a tough tiny mono band CW transceiver which I could sneak in my holiday backpack. I know there

One first comment , some of us call the general trend here
creeping featurism. When you do this you start adding features
that are only that. They add no critical function nor make it
lower in
