no load on the 3.3 volt rail, and it didn't occur to me to try the scope. I'll rig up a load resistor and hang the scope of it.

I should have said I haven't been able to find a version of libusb0.dll that my 64 bit version of Windows 10 will install due to claiming it contains a virus. Haven't been able to find a download

What is the *exact* error message you are getting ?
At the moment you are saying the equivalent of "My car won't start" (at least you have given the Make, Year & Model, that's a good start ;)

search disable driver signature enforcement and follow the steps there to install libusb0.dll
I just did the process and installed the unsigned driver on my Win10 Home 64 bit computer.

Did you try using Zadig to update the driver? I have been using a Win7 machine to do my updates but may have to try this on my 10 Pro64 machine. I just watched a video of someone updating

IMHO all ironpowder cores have same thermal issue . If located in an area where the temperature increases slowly as we power the device, the specific magnetic component changes its behaviour.
