Fancy or not :) hi HI
The Smith chart proves the "simple L"  can match d-c to day-light

If you answer Eike's questions it will help.

Instead, I used an AMASS XT60 connector. This is a really elegant, tiny & cheap connector rated at 60A continuous. Sparkfun claims that they will tolerate 65A. They have a round gold-plated pin and a round receptacle. When you plug them together, they inspire confidence. I soldered a couple of short silicone-insulated wires to the circuit board, brought them out through the "DC Power" hole, and soldered them up to the XT60.
That is a great idea, Jerry. I fly RC planes and such and use those XT60 all over those batteries. They are good connectors and can't be plugged in backwards, nor shorted (given that they were soldered correctly). I have used these connectors on other projects as well.

I still have my QCX+ to build, and may consider doing the XT60 there as well.

Hi John,

Thanks for the "two thumbs up" :)

Regarding the tuner...it is a simple "L tuner". Looking from QCX toward antenna it is a variable capacitor to the ground and series inductor on a T50-6 toroid.
I measured the antenna impedance at the end of the coaxial cable with a VNA than using an "online calculator" for L matching network I ended up to that two components design.
Than I used VNA to tune it properly and then an SWR meter to tune the QCX. The circuit is wide enough not needing to be re-tuned on 7MHz CW side.

So no fancy "tuner", just an L-match circuit.

Well done, two thumbs up ! !

Thanks for sharing.

I am curious about your tuner ...

And it's surprisingly small. And light. I still have space under the desk.
The desk has metal skirts, and I've been sticking stuff to it with super magnets.

There's a special tape I was thinking of using. It's up on the shelf somewhere.
It's the 3M double-sided sticky tape that they use to stick cell phones together.
SUPER aggressive. I bought a roll to fix one cell phone, and now I have enough
to last me a century or two.

But the packing tape worked.

Jerry

I am still using my PA at 13.8 volts. It works, less power, and it may strain it less in initial testing. This will give you more time to land a 20 volt PS. Some folk, even a PA expert here reports using a vintage laptop supply. Be patient, op a half S unit lower, and wait for something to land.

Hi Larry,
if you are fortunate only IC1 died.
What do you measure on pin 2 of IC2 LM317?
What do you measure @ R9 (Lithium Battery)?
If those Voltages are OK, can you detect the 1 PPS on pin 3 of the RF
Module or on pin 1, 2 of IC1?
That ought to be possible with a DVM even if you got no oscilloscope
handy.
Wish you luck

From a non-US perspective, the date confusion looks exactly like US vs Rest of the World for dates. The first of June in the US is the second of June elsewhere (because timezones) so 02062021 is the second of June, not the sixth of February.

...but not tested.

I did hook it up to my lab supply, and verified that current was not excessive,
and no smoke came out. But I realize that I have no power supply capable of the 20V @
6A that it requires.

So I'm cruising Amazon & Ebay. 20V is a pretty common value for laptop computer
chargers. I can get a 20V 6A one for about $30. Does anybody know a compelling reason
why such a supply wouldn't work?
