I would like the information on center tune as well.
Hi Paul,

Metoo!

Thinking of adding Granson of a ZeroBeat but no space for that display, a blue led will suffice.

Thanks.

Hi Dave and all
I am sure you  will get your running just fine, just take your time, the group here and Hans are very helpful if you run into problems.
I have fitted a CW Centre tune indicator to mine, need to tidy that up a bit but its a nice addition i find, its my own design and a little kit i do but dont want to turn this into a sales pitch, if anyone is interested i have the circuit and instructions to make your own, i put those together for FISTS UK.
have fun all. I am putting together the 50watt amp now.

Please note, BaMaTech is not associated or affiliated with QRP Labs. Markus does produce his QCX enclosures with my blessing. But we aren't working together on it.

I do try to answer all QRP Labs emails within 1 business day.

Have written it off. Especially since receiving the QCX+

QCX+ Excellent Packaging

Hans,

Hats off to the folks in Sedalia, MO who do the reshipping of the QCX+ in the USA. Excellent tight packaging of the product with just the right amount of extra material.

Dang - thought ordered it - but didn't. Is this the same SKU as the stand alone unit sold separately?

Re: QCX+ build notes

You may be able to salvage the volume control.  The contacts between the pin pads and the printed resistive element can easily be damaged when bending the leads for soldering.  Use a thin needle nose pliers and squeeze the each contact in the area of the hole and it should work.  I had this problem and squeezing the connection worked.  For anyone building a QCX+ I suggest holding the tabs in the volume control with a needel nose pliers while you bend the leads so you do not put any pressure on the compression connection.

QCX+ build notes

Got my QCX+ assembled with only a few problems.  Installing T1 first was a HUGE improvement over the QCX.  I found getting JP4 a bit fiddly - perhaps installing JP3-5 earlier would make it easier.  Only hitch was volume control pot was defective - unfortunately not discovered until I went through alignment.

Otherwise a really nice kit and if possible even nicer than the QCX.  Looking forward to using the Dev kit.

Dear Paul,
New QCX+ really sounds great.   I can't wait to get mine.   They should be here by the end of the week.   Hope I can construct mine to sound as good as yours.
Take care and have fun

Hi all , very happy with my new QCX+ , I need a new volume control so for now I have bodged a old one  for now.

I have just compared it on the same signal to my FTDX1200 and I am very happy with its performance, heres a video if the test, the Yaesu has a nice big speaker, the QCX only has a cheap unamplified computer speaker from the pound shop so please forgive the difference  between the two.

Heres the video link.

great fun!

My most recent shipment was reported as "Formal customs clearance required" on July 07.  No further updates since then.  Anyone else have similar experience?

My enclosures ordered 9 June arrived safely in Malaysia today. 6 weeks -  no complaints - 10,000 km for EUR 7.50 during a pandemic. Can't be bad!

Now have 4 boxes and 4 x QCX - 2 working OK and 2 with damaged tracks around IC4 which are probably beyond repair (at least by me).  Still hoping Hans will make the original QCX available again  (even for a limited run) - there was a mention of this in the latest newsletter.  Otherwise I will be begging around for unbuilt kits or non-working kits without damage to IC1/IC4!

Re: Clock Kit.

Nice job.  I did a similar clock display for my shack.  No enclosure though because the clock fits perfectly under the Icom 7300 when on it's stand and the GPS unit is in the window behind the radio.
