Wow, nice signal too, -11 dB. It's also back on its frequency. Still not seeing it on 30m; band is really open here now. Funny, also copying WD8ING on 20m who just happens to be off-timed by the same amount.

Yeah, I just saw it on the screen.  No
decode because I'd set the timing back to zero, but now it's
back to 15 ahead.

It could mean calibration
if it suddenly changes.
Almost gave up on it
and spot another one hour later.
The amazing
part is I can not even see a trace on
the waterfall.
PC clock still set the same @ 15
seconds
ahead.

Thanks for support - I discovered my error - I had not moved the RF output from the main board to the relay board.  (so I obviously had a path only on selected relay positions -- like position 2 - from the relay board back onto the main board.  And I found an open in my 10m filter - all is working now.

250 mW on 40m and 150 mW on 20m - so now things are functional through the relay board.

I am also finding that this may be enough power to experience all the bands where I have a reasonable antenna.

Hi all, I released a ballooon this morning, it have travel over Baltic sea and shut down at 18.20 local.

Its initial altitude was around 10200m, it tx wspr and jt9 on 20m, both modes in same bp, standars wspr dial 14.095.600 usb.

Its relayed on to the Habhub tracker as BSS9 Habhub  , as well as aprs.fi  - sa6bss-11   (Tnx David)

Total weight incl antenna and solar panels 6.6 grams

One prestreached Qualatex (0.725psi) and 2.6 grams of free lift.

One cool thing is that I got received in Australia (VK2XN)  at a distance of 15500km that would make it 775 000km / Watt, quite amazing!

New powerline setup on this board, it worked down to 17 deg, lets see if it will start at the same degree of solar angle tomorrow.

I take that back... signal is still going back up in frequency. Does that indicate anything, like maybe calibrating back to normal operation?

Signal is gradually dropping out here.
Last 20m cycle no copy but could see the faint trace.
Two cycles before that copied the WSPR telemetry but not the
callsign.  Not sure if it's helpful or not, but I
attached a screenshot of the waterfall showing the frequency
drifting back up.  Looks like it's more or less settled
on 1500 hz (on my end; receiver is still set on 14.095.5).

All yours Jim...no decode since 1700z...hopefully it will sort itself on tomorrows reboot unless it is locked from the altitude. Good luck...

You seem to be doing good considering.
If you make sunset, that will be great.Lets hope tomorrow is with a GPS.

Re: U3S15 balloon alive

Just changed the counterpoise wire angle also; that seemed to make a big difference unless it's just coincidence. It's supposed to be an end-fed wire, but after putting on the recommended counterpoise, it's really just a haphazard dipole. Overall, I spun the whole business clockwise about 45-degrees towards U3S-15's present grid. Anyway, better signal and now decoding 20m JT9.

30m waterfall is still practically a ghost town.

Well, changing the
horizontal angle didn't seem to make any difference.
WSPR signal is pretty weak on my waterfall; surprised
it's decoding.  JT9 signal too weak for decode.

Still at the kids place, but still watching the computer.Left my radio for 20m.
Just have to hope it hangs in there today.
Maybe it will come back on time later or tomorrow. Will try 30m when I get home.

20m signal is getting very weak here. Going to change the angle of the end-fed wire; it's oriented at the worst possible angle to the balloon, exactly off the end of it. Back in a few...

You guys are getting a
better copy than me.
My antenna is best for
30m,but that band is terrible.Lots of other modes there
wiping out the spectrum too.
I`ll leave it
on 20m WSPR.

Jeff,
Appreciate your efforts greatly.
Go ahead about your business,I do not expect anyone to spend a day on the radio.
Going to try both bands here and see how it goes.
Thankful to you and Vern for the help.Otherwise, would have been considered a total loss today.
Still a glimmer of hope yet :)
