Not missing anything.
The original post was on using something different abuot power poles to identify connections for devices that use different voltages.
The first idea was to use colors as an indicator, and posed a question "Is there a standard color scheme to use to identify different voltages."

Yes, since they fit together in any color, you can still mix them up, but at least there is some indication of "differences".
Then orientation was introduced as another, maybe more robust way.
