I agree. In 1973 when things were hot I built a Heathkit HW7 and used a wire tied around a tree branch 25’ from my shack window for a test antenna. Worked the world on 15 meters. Never did build a good antenna as we were moving in the near future. Thise were the days. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
