DAY-BY-DAY ARCHIVE OF GLENN HAUSER`S LOG REPORTS:
Unedited, uncondensed, unchanged from original version, many of
them too complex, minutely researched, multi-frequency, opinionated,
inconsequential, off-topic, or lengthy for some log editors to
manage; and also ahead of their availability in these weekly issues:

Glenn Hauser

** CHINA. 11640, April 21 at 1333, CNR1 with Sunday-evening cultural
show playing contemporary Western classical orchestral music, S7-S9
with flutter // 11785. Aoki/NDXC pinpoints site for this 11640 jamming
as Kashi-Saiba in EAST TURKISTAN, 10-14 scheduling matching that of
Radio Taiwan International in Chinese on 11640 (which I am not hearing
at all). Kashi/Kashgar of course also radiates countless
``legitimate`` CRI transmissions.

11440, April 21 at 1330, very poor mix of two carriers, seems matching
11785, i.e. CNR1 jamming as per Aoki/NDXC, vs Sound of Hope via Maoli
site, Taiwan.

10960, April 21 at 1336, JBA music. Aoki/NDXC has this as a Sound of
Hope relay of RFA during long hours in Chinese, from Pingtung, Taiwan
site, rather than Maoli for many others of SOH iself; but this could
more likely also be CNR1 jammer.

In a complete bandscan from 10.9 to 15.0 MHz, these two are the only
WOOB jam frequencies found (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 12000, April 21 at 1314, RHC music at S4-S5 on this second
harmonic of 6000 which is S9/S9+10. Wolfgang Bueschel points out that
when 11700 and 11850 are both on the air, 2200-0500, they can produce
a leapfrog mixing product on 12000. Something`s always wrong at RHC.
In the past, 12000 has also been an intentional fundamental of RHC,
but not currently (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15230, April 21 at 1317, RHC is JBM here, while 15140 is OK.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6965-USB, April 21 at 0030, songs at S9+10, and at
0032 as expected, ``Wolverine Radio`` ID, still going past 0100+. Many
more logs here covering 0015-0121:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,53129.0.html
Not so obvious theme tonight seems to be ``vocal expression``, ending
with SSTV image of girl whispering into another`s ear (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** UKRAINE [non]. Answer to my query about the RUI announcer: ``Hi
Glenn, The male announcer you refer to is, I believe, Andrew Bondar

(Alan Roe, Teddington, UK, WOR iog via DXLD)``

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1978 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday April 21 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+30. Also confirmed UT Sun
Apr 21 at 0327 about 4 minutes into, so started circa 0323 on WA0RCR,
1860-AM, S9+20. Next:

** U S A. I missed this week`s AWWW on WBCQ, UT Sat Apr 20 at 0000 UT,
but John Carver fills us in:

``Tonight's show started on time on 7490 after some dead air and fill
music. Allan and Angela in the studio talking about the IRS. First
phone call at 0005 followed immediately by a call from Dave in Indiana
at 0007 continuing the discussion about the IRS. Allan maintains that
the IRS is illegal and wasn't ratified by all the states. Allan is a
little riled up this evening and goes into a rant. At the height of
the rant while he's waving his arms he manages to hit Angela who's
sitting next to him. Phone calls are hot and heavy this evening.
Ramsey calls at 0031. He gets Allan to state that he's been seeing
doctors this week and he's doing fine. reading of emails at 0053.
Closing prayer at 0059. Show was off the air at 0101 with no talk of
the station this evening. 7490 was off the air at 0102 after a bit of
music. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490+, UT Sun Apr 21 at 0100, Pirate Joe opening his
`Shortwave Saturday Night` on WBCQ, previewing topix in next three
hours, says he is on 7490 & 3265, the latter, as always, barely
audible here. Much needed left-wing counterpoint to AW; at 0125 he`s
finishing the ``14 points of fascism``, alluding to how much those
apply to Drumpf`s America.

5130.443, UT Sun Apr 21 at 0108, WBCQ S9+10/20, better than usual on
this frequency; Larry Will & Jane with `Lumpy Gravy Show`, also
claiming to be on 3265! But this was ``live April 19 on 3265`` i.e.
the night before, UT Saturday, according to further comments altho not
on the WBCQ program schedule other than now, his regular spot on
5130v; also makes left-wing comments.

Too much going on as usual on Saturday nights: not only these two, but
Mighty KBC, Wolverine Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VENEZUELA [non]. 9955, UT Sun Apr 21 at 0115, WRMI cutting off `Ask
WWCR` [sic], before it quite finishes in order to start `Acontecer
Venezolano`, which is incredibly the only ``clandestine`` broadcast
concerning this country. Host starts making the case that there is a
schism between the Maduro faxion and the harder-line Chavistas about
how to proceed; and that US & Russia together are trying to organize
some kind of transition. Is he imagining all this?

Altho this show has been on WRMI for a long time, there is no mention
of it on the Programming page! At least not to be found by searching
the text, rather than images. Only two scheduled times on the grid, UT
Friday 0000-0015 & UT Sunday 0115-0130, both on 9955. I`ve not caught
name of the guy who does it, but obviously safely in exile (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 1900 UT April 21

Glenn Hauser logs April 19-20, 2019

Glenn Hauser

** CUBA. 15140, April 20 at 1240, RHC is S9+10 of dead air, while
15230 successfully modulates. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also EAST TURKISTAN

** CUBA. 7380, April 20 at 2101, strong open carrier, off in less than
a minute. Must be RHC transmitter check, an hour ahead of the 22-24 UT
broadcast (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 13575, April 20 at 1242, soft song with guitar,
maybe in Chinese, since by 1255 it`s CRI saying ``do svidan'ya``,
about to close Russian service, 500 kW, 308 degrees for Europe this
hour only. At S9 it`s the second SSOB after Cuba back on 13740.0 today
(and 13700 not on yet) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LITENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, April 19 at 2228, rock/rap music, het
maybe local notched, past 2235, S8. More unID logs here, maybe Radio
Gaga until 2238*
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,53066.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 5900, April 20 at 0327, TOMBS is S9+10/20, //
not synchro with 7570 WRMI, non-BS speaking English. On this frequency
surely it`s BULGARIA, altho as of April 5-6, Ivo had reported:

SECRETLAND Brother HySTAIRical TOM is no longer
on shortwave via SPL Secretbrod effective from March 31
1500-1700 on 11600 SCB 100 kW / 306 deg to WeEu English
1700-2000 on 9400 SCB 100 kW / 126 deg to N/ME English
1800-2000 on 6000 SCB 050 kW / 030 deg to EaEu English
2000-0300 on 5900 SCB 050 kW / 306 deg to ENAm English

https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2019/04/brother-hystairical-overcomer-ministry.html
as of April 20 also shows all the SCB relays as inactive including 5900 between 2000 and 0300 (not 0300+).

So what is the span now? It`s always changing, going & coming.

On the contrary, current EiBi shows no BS on 5900 but rather:
5900 0300-0315 G Bible Voice Dardasha-7 A ME /BUL-s
5900 0315-0330 G Bible Voice Dardasha-7 A ME /BUL-s

On the contrary2, while NDXC/Aoki says:
5900 0200-0215 BUL BIBLE VOICE BCN Radio Da Ara Kostinbrod( 1-7
5900 0215-0230 BUL BIBLE VOICE BCN Radio Da Ara Kostinbrod( 1-7

But also with x for off the air:
5900 2000-2100 BUL x The Overcomer Ministry Eng Kostinbrod( 1-7
5900 2100-2200 BUL x The Overcomer Ministry Eng Kostinbrod( 5-3
5900 2200-0200 BUL x The Overcomer Ministry Eng Kostinbrod( 1-7

HFCC A-19 has 5900 available 24 hours from ``Sofia`` aimed toward W
Europe and USward:
5900 0000 2359 27,28,29,38 SOF 250 306 0 618 1234567 310319 271019 D
5000 Eng BUL NEW SPC 8044.

Overcomer Ministry`s own schedule not updated since February! has 5900
Bulgaria at 2000-0300 not for NAm, but Europe/Middle East/Israel
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SUDAN [and non]. 7205, April 20 at 0325, R. Omdurman again fairly
audible; and also carriers from the Eritreans on 7180, 7140 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 19 at 2233, no signal from VOT English to North
America; surely would be audible if on, like 9420 Greece at S9+25!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1978 monitoring: bandscan finds
surprise new time on WRMI 9955: Friday April 19 at 2226, S9+20, so
started at 2200, and now showing on the skedgrid. This becomes the
first US SW broadcast as long as I produce new shows in time.

Also confirmed at next-newest time, UT Saturday April 20 at 0130 on
WRMI 7780, fair with some SSB ACI

Confirmed Saturday April 20 at 1130 on WRMI 9955, VG S9+10/20

Not confirmed Saturday April 20 at 1431 on HLR 9485-CUSB --- no signal
detectable via UTwente, just splash from 9490

Confirmed Saturday April 20 at 2100 on WRMI 9955, S7-S8; after IS & ID
loop, but WOR opening is again upcut: automation misaligned

** U S A. 7505v, April 20 at 0324, WRNO back on for a change, in
English, S7-S9 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN. 9705 > 9800 > 11630, 1957 UT April 19, JBA carriers on
frequencies publicized for ``Good Friday`` special from Vatican Radio,
a different language on each but for Africa only and totally useless
here. Ditto Saturday April 20 at 1857 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 14270-USB, April 20 at 2150-2155, simplex DX contacts,
pileups alternating with the target station, frenetic pace with heavy
French? accent. Maybe gives his own call occasionally but cannot
understand it, HB9- or HP9? His would-be contacts, all Americans,
never utter his call, just their own, a sorry breach of etiquette. One
should not have to search a DX cluster for ID, but I give up after
seeing nothing current on this frequency. Bye-bye (Glenn Hauser, OK,

Glenn Hauser logs April 19, 2019

Glenn Hauser

** ARMENIA. 9300, April 19 at 1328, JBA talk. Aoki/NDXC shows the
complex schedule of TWR India, via Yerevan-Gavar site, this 1315
quarter-hour on day 6 = Friday as in the Kur language, shared with
San, Mun and Kui depending on the DOW. Full name of language per WRTH
is Kurukh, which was on 9365 in B-18. EiBi language list shows: ``KUR
Kurukh/Kurux: India-Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand, W. Bengal (2m) [kru]``.
Recently this was on 9330 by punchup mistake; not a good idea with the
Superstation imminent (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13739.240, April 19 at 1330, RHC knocked itself off-frequency
today, as you never know whether it will stick to 13740.00. // 13700
is still accompanied by weak parasitic spurs approx. 28.3 kHz above
and below. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

A couple of listeners have objected to my frequent remark. Many of the
wrongs result from sloppyration rather than worn-out equipment. All I
can say, as on WORLD OF RADIO 1978, is that if and when RHC stops
messing up, there will no longer be any reason to utter it (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SUDAN. 7205, April 19 at 0320, singing and drumming at S9, 0329
Arabic talk mentioning Sudan, 0334 instrumental music. Sudan Radio,
domestic service frequency, no doubt under new management. Beware,
that Aoki shows an overlap of Sudan starting at 0210, and PBS
Xinjiang, Urumqi, East Turkistan, in Uyghur until 0257. EiBi, OTOH
shows only a 3-minute overlap, *0257- and -0300* respectively (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

freshest new airings are on weekends]

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts:
http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9330.14v, April 19 at 1327, WBCQ still with TOMBS, not the
500 kW Superstation, which per John Carver, Allan Weiner said on
`Worldwide` last Friday night, would start testing in the coming week
on 9330 or 7490, to be announced in his Twits. QRX. No doubt it will
be on 9330.000 and not with Brother HyStairical, we can only hope.
Bring on the flat-earthers! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1060, April 19 at 0504 UT on the R75 with E-W longwire,
Mexican music, not so eclectic as to be expected from XEEP CDMX but
the SW 6185 is already off. Switching to the DX-398 for DFing at 0544
UT, now it`s WSW/ENE so that rules out XEEP and points to KIJN Farwell
TX; now I am suspecting the songs are of praise, especially with
keywords Vida, Viva, Santo and Gloria.

Trouble is, KIJN is a 10-kW direxional daytimer! But it`s well-known
as a longtime cheater running at night, In Jesus` Name -- WWJD? SS but
not religious beyond in almost same direxion is KXPL El Paso TX,
another 10 kW daytimer ND, but not such a cheater. There are other USA
SS on 1060 in NRC AM Log, none of them likely here and none religious,
in CA, NV, NC, NC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1420, April 19 at 0550 UT, super-hype voice actors (SHVA) in
Spanish with promos or ads, Mexican music, 0557 automated TC for 12,
56 = CDT. Something (else?) here in the mix is enough off-frequency to
produce a LAH. I am enjoying the perhaps temporary absence of loud
local KCRC Enid spur on 1420v, while on alternate transmitter
following power outage/surge?

Cannot copy ID at 0601 UT other than FM frequency 103.3 or 106.3.
Loops NW/SE so that rules out Mexico. No Coloradans on 1420, but the
closest likely is KBHS Hot Springs AR, more like ESE, in NRC AM Log as
U1 5000/87 watts, SS but its La Zeta FM as 105.5. Has there been a
change? Bingo! in the WTFDA FM Database:

``K292HG KBHS-1420 106.3 HOT SPRINGS AR USA 0.25 0.25 0.0 0.0 34-27-19
93-03-26 Silent //KZNG 1340. KBHS is silent`` -- silent no more.

Altho there could have been a format flip since it went to press 8+
months ago (and now sold out), NRC AM Log has only other SS on 1420 in
FL, FL, ID, none likelier here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1630, April 19 at 0605 UT, Mexican music loops NNW/SSE,
mutually nullable with KCJJ Iowa, making a medium SAH. The only such
Unitedstatesian is KRND, Fox Farm WY to the NW, confirmed by 0610 UT
with its known identity ``La Jota Mexicana`` IDs in passing.

But where is my closest 1630, KKGM Fort Worth TX? No sign of it in the
mix, off? It`s a gospel huxter in English, with a lot of music. I am
hearing such a format at 1323 UT recheck. Always helpful to tune LSB
to minimize local 1640 KZLS, especially on the way to FTW, and
oppositely to Fox Farm.

Fox Farm cannot be found on the regular Rand McNally atlas, and not
even on the 2013 large-scale version, nor in their indices! (There is a
Foxpark, SW of Laramie). Thus I am forced to seek its location online.
Fox Farm is a suburb of Cheyenne. Yet KRND address, per NRC AM Log, is
way off in Broomfield CO, between Boulder and Denver! Studio? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Glenn Hauser

Sorry about my last report appearing thrice; I sent it only once.

** ANTARCTICA. 15476-, Thu April 18 at 1336, JBA carrier on signature
minus-offset from LRA36. Apparently active only on Tue & Thu; others
reported it April 16 on extended sked, but I could not detect it then.
And I`ve yet to see any other logs of it today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. 13130, April 18 at 1340, CNR1 jammer is VG S9-S7 with
flutter, and 12820 weaker S6-S9 with flutter. Both of course are Sound
of Hope, Taiwan frequencies. From 1340 to 1348 I scanned the entire
ranges 6.9-9.3 and 10.9-17.5 MHz, finding only these way-out-of-
banders (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 4765, April 18 at 0227, R. Progreso back on after missing
almost a week, presumably still 0030-0400 only; vs storm noise crashes
now here. Something`s not wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** ROMANIA [and non]. 11700, April 17 at 2348, stilted Spanish can`t
be RHC --- soon ID as RRI, but music from Cuba audible underneath: a
long-standing collision also in previous seasons, Commies vs ex-
Commies! Cuba // 11760 much stronger in the clear. Something`s always
wrong at RHC. RRI // is 11800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SWEDEN [non]. 15510, April 18 at 1758, S4-S6 open carrier, or is it
JBM? 1800 definitely some music and shortly talk in unID language,
OOFSOB. Aoki/NDXC shows 1730-1900 IBRA Radio Sama via Woofferton UK,
the 1800-1830 segment in Fur, as in Darfur. Also logged same April 7
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TIBET [non]. 15470v, April 18 at 1336, heavy flutter and terrible
het, since IBB in Bod/Tibetan is scheduled until 1400 via TAJIKISTAN,
and of course heavily jammed. Similar but weaker signals on 15275
which is scheduled for exactly the same thing. More CNR1 jamming on
15165, which is VOA Mandarin via Thailand. The only legit ChiCom
signal on 19m is 15590, CRI English via Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, fair
with flutter (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1977 monitoring: confirmed
Wednesday April 17 at 2100 on WRMI 9955, S9+10. This week transmitter
on by *2055 with IS & ID loop, but WOR opening upcut by a few words.
Also confirmed about 3 seconds later on WBCQ 7490.18v, VP S5.

Not confirmed, UT Thursday April 18 at 0000 on WRMI 7730 --- it`s no
accident as Alameda Bible Fellowship Bible readings in fake-voice
Spanish have been inserted here.

Confirmed UT Thu Apr 18 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, fair but heavy storm
noise crashes nearby. Next:

0930 UT Friday Unique Radio 5045-USB NSW [or 1978?]
0130 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 [or 1978?]

[it appears we will now be running on a Saturday-to-Friday
cycle, so freshest new airings are on weekends --- or even Friday-to-
Thursday as this week I am attempting to finish 1978 by early UT
Friday]

** VATICAN [and non]. 17530, April 18 at 1333, JBA carrier which must
be VOA Somali via SMG this hour only, violating Separation of Church &
State. The only other JBA carriers on 16m are 17615-minus, 17705 and
17895, obviously the SRI/SBA Riyadh trio with two different Arabic
programs, as often the only signals capable of making it, even so
marginally tho 500 kW each (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. Unusually today I have been bandscanning the entire 11-15
MHz OOB range for jammers, once one was found to be propagating, as I
was originally looking for a Cuban harmonic on 12200.

12190, April 17 at 1234 Chinese at S3 // 6125 and 11785 where there is
a mixture. This is one of countless CNR1 jamming frequencies as
monitored by Wolfgang Bueschel during this hour, +3 Hz high.

13130, April 17 at 1242, another Chinese at S2 // 11785. Per wb`s
report, another CNR1, vs Sound of Hope, the latter being +86 Hz high
when he heard it, but not even a het from it here.

12820, April 17 at 1244, Chinese at S3. Wb`s report shows CNR1 on
exact frequency, while target SOH when he monitored was -95 Hz low,
inaudible here.

15110, April 17 at 1408, Chinese opera and talk at S9-S5, the only
such signal inside 19mb; it`s CNR1 jammer against VOA Chinese via
Philippines this hour only (Glenn Hauser, OK DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, April 16 at 0559 [not 0539 typo originally], RHC
English is suptorted just before 0600* turnoff, which seems to be
intentional from this frequency/site only. English continues on best
6060 with This Day In History, concerning Bay of Pigs, Fidel speech
declaring the Revolution is socialist (-- gotcha!) and the founding of
RHC in 1961y; also good signal and modulation this time on 6100,
slightly worse on 6165. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000 & 6165, UT Wed Apr 17 at 0238, both the only RHC English
frequencies this early are undermodulated, and to boot, 6000 is also
suptorted, in DXers Unlimited just ending at 0239, and into a new
program `Connecting the Dots` with a new announcer, Mike somebody,
about the A-bomb in 1945 --- no doubt another way of spewing anti-
American propaganda. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 4765, April 17 at 0241 check, R. Progreso still missing. Does
Arnie ever explain such significant problems? Of course not!
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11840 at S7 & 11860 at S9, April 17 at 0242, RHC Spanish
spurs out of 11850 at S9+20. Elsewhere on 25m at 0249: 11670 is S9+20
but suptorted; 11700 S6-S8 but clear; 11760 off already. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, April 17 at 0559, RHC English re-opening another hour,
suptorted here and stays a while past 0600 tonight; 6060 is VG, 6100
is good and slightly better than 6165, while 5040 is off already.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 6100, April 17 at 1229, RHC Spanish
mixing/underneath Russian, which is CRI, 500 kW, 55 degrees from
Beijing site this hour only. the two making a medium SAH. RHC is also
on 6000 undermodulated, and no longer on 6150. No harmonix audible on
12200 or 12000.

Well into the A-19 season, what does RHC websked say?
http://www.radiohc.cu/interesantes/frecuencias
It`s still B-18! Showing nothing lower than the imaginary 9600 in the
12-14 UT morning, despite their really running 6150.

An A-19 sked via Wolfgang Bueschel, however, shows 6000 at 11-14, 250
kW Quivicán non-direxional; and 6100 at 11-13, 100 kW Bauta at 340
degrees toward Chicago with `Mesa Redonda` --- but I think these M.R.
entries in the morning are spurious. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13740, April 17 at 1404, RHC S9+10/20 of dead air, not turned
off yet. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7780, April 17 at 0235, WRMI relaying ``English
service of Ukrainian Radio, with Ukrainian Perspective``, fair.
Inconvenient listening time for me, but pleased to note that this
service still exist on SW, scheduled only at 0230-0300 UT Tue-Sat.
Main announcer has a very distinctive voice, instantly recognizable;
what does he call himself? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9955, Wed April 17 at 1323, S6-S9, WRMI in DX program, rapid
Spanish about British pirates of the 60s, with many clips (in
English); 1327 outro mixing with rapid Morse code, 1329 ID as ``La
Súper Stéreo``. It`s `Antena DX` from 1300, in a timeslot once filled
by World of Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505v, April 7 at 0237 check, WRNO still AWOL (Glenn Hauser,

** OKLAHOMA. 341 kHz, April 16 at 1315 UT check, beacon EI is on, our
very own in Enid. Some time ago I DXed two faraway beacons at night on
341 without any sign of EI, which despite proximity is quite weak, but
must have been off; not NSP? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1390, April 16 around 1830 UT, as I drive around north
side of Enid, it`s clear that the reactivated KCRC has an expanded
radius of desensitization as far as my caradio is concerned. Now I
can`t hear 1410 KGSO Wichita --- not that I should ever want to with
stupid ESPN sports talk! This close to KCRC`s 3 towers, desens extends
further but hard to evaluate its edges. This suggests that present
transmitter is running more than 1 kW and/or is broaderband. Still no
spurs on 1420 or 1360 but those OK & KS stations also inaudible; plus
the splatter out of 1390. Even at my home QTH further away, 1410 is
just starting to break thru, unlike with the old KCRC transmitter
(Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 16, April 15 at 1535 UT, KOCM-DT has now been repacked
here, ex RF 46, and still PSIP as 46-1 (and no other subs). Must have
just happened today or very recently. On 46 this had been a somewhat
marginal signal from the far side of OKC, but a little better on 16.

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1977 monitoring: confirmed Monday
April 15 from 1817 on IRRS via Romania, 7290, via UTwente SDR good and
not too much splatter from 7280/7300. This week at 1813 tune-in there
is a tone, 1814 JIP tail end of Feature Story News, 1815 two minutes
of IRRS` ``Triumphal March from Aïda`` theme, before WOR finally
starts at 1817, so presumably running almost until 1846.

Also confirmed UT Tue Apr 16 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, F-G. Next:
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v

** U S A. 7730, April 16 at 0000, WRMI switches from TOMBS to
synthetic Bible readings in Spanish, instead of Wavescan. And at 0030
Wavescan replacing WORLD OF RADIO, as first noted last week. Skedgrid
via http://www.tinyurl.com/WRMIfqs has been partially updated again
dated April 13 now explaining this: it`s Alameda Bible Fellowship,
which has been inserted in many new spots on several frequencies,
thrice weekly, mostly M/W/F, or in this case on 7730 at 0000, UT
Tue/Thu/Sat, which also displaced WOR on Thursday. And also 2030
Tuesday on 7780, in this case Mon/Tue/Fri. The Program page has no
portion about ABF, but as I recall, they have podcasts of Bible
readings in many languages. The one at 0000 April 16 had to be
interrupted abruptly before 0030 for WS, so apparently not packaged as
29-minute SW programs (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490, John Carver fills out his report on AWWW 4-6-19 on
WBCQ: ``Tonight's show started more or less on time after a brief
period of dead air. Allan and Angela in the studio in FLA stating that
they are analog in a digital world. Talking about GFI plugs and
receptacles. Says they're all Chinese junk. Then talk about buying and
selling antique cars and how the bottom has dropped out of the market.
Talk of problems with the rebuild of his most recent old car. Auto
talk continues for most of the program.

Allan said that 3265 service would continue but this summer he will be
changing both transmitter and antenna. Reading of emails began at 0051
and the feed to Maine dropped, followed quickly by the station playing
some music fill. Feed restored in a minute or so. Reading of the Free
Radio Weekly. No closing prayer and program was off at 0100 followed
by some music. 7490 was off the air at 0102. John, Mid-North Indiana``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5890, April 16 at 0603, WWCR open carrier is on at S9+20 =
to 5935 modulating DGS. 4840 is also S9+20/30 of dead air, allowing
the adjacent bonker about 4843 to audiblize. Normally off, 3215 is
also emiting OC/DA at S9+10/20. I am beginning to see a pattern here:
Tuesdays --- same kind of thing I have logged before on April 2,
January 29, January 22, December 25; plus once on Thursday February
28.

Ethan Best, KC9YDN, also reports today April 16 to the WOR iog:
``Early this morning (6:30z) tuning across the bands I noted 3/4 of
WWCR's services are dead air. 3215, 4840, 5890. Only one with
modulation is PMS on 5935 kHz. Somethings always wrong at WWCR?``

** CUBA. 6100 & 6000, April 15 at 0541, RHC English just barely
modulated on these, slightly more on 6165, and good modulation on 6060

** CUBA. 6000, April 15 at 1406, VP signal with music, RHC running

** OKLAHOMA. More on 1390 KCRC Enid: in original report I did not make
clear that it was totally off the air from 2030 UT April 13, rather
than open carrier like its related FM stations.

Shortly after filing that report, I find 1390 finally back on by 19 UT
April 14, after some 22.5 hours of silence; could it be they were
working on getting rid of the spurs? Ha! I am no longer hearing them
at 2235 UT, 1360 clear for KPHN El Dorado KS with EWTN, and 1420 for
KTJS Hobart OK, except now there is expanded splatter from 1390 even
beyond that +/- 30 kHz range. Rather I think KCRC had to switch to a
backup transmitter with different deficiencies.

April 15 at 1412 UT check, still no spurs circa 1360 & 1420, but the
splatter continues, obscuring 1410 Wichita which never suffered this
KCRC problem before (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. (7490), John Carver, IN, updates us April 15 on news from
the last two `Allan Weiner Worldwides` on WBCQ, Saturdays 00-01:

``Glenn, two episodes ago Allen said that 3265 would continue through
the summer, but once he was back in Maine, the antenna would be
changed and possibly the transmitter.

In the most recent program, he stated that the super station would be
energized this week for testing. They will be testing primarily on
9330 and some testing on 7490.

He will post detail on his twitter account. He will be in Florida at
least until the end of the month.

He has developed some health problems, and is seeing several doctors
to try and remedy the situation. He is having heart problems,
primarily a-fib. He doesn't believe it is terribly serious at the
moment. He said, that if he has to have a pace-maker installed, they
will have to put in some special shielding because of the RF energy at
the station. -John``

Now what is his Twit? NO link to it on the homepage
http://www.WBCQ.com --- The obvious guess, https://twitter.com/WBCQ is
axually Dr Scott Becker, not Allan. /weiner is an outdated 2015 Trump
for President troll. Finally found him:

** U S A. 7490+, UT Monday April 15 at 0000-0100, `Encore` classical
music show on WBCQ comes off without a hitch this week. I enjoy
listening to the first half on webcast for convenience at the
computer, and second half axually via 7490 with a good signal (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505v, April 15 at 0538, WRNO back on after missing a few
nights whenever I checked, S9/S9+20 gospel huxter in English (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15825, April 15 at 1409 and still 1445, WWCR-1 is S9+20/30
instead of JBA carrier, a sure sign that springtime HF sporadic E is
in play making this one-megameter path propagate; confirmed by 10m Es
DXmap which does show a few contacts across this area. 15555-USB WJHR
is also showing up weakly. And at 1415, 12050 WEWN is S7-S9, much
better than usual with an Es boost too. Still not a peep out of 17775
KVOH from the west this early (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 15165, April 14 at 1327, Chinese song mixing with
something talking, S9 with flutter, OOFSOB besides Cuba. Music matches
CNR1 loud & clear on 11785 during Sunday-evening cultural show. Aoki
shows 15165 at 13-14 is VOA Chinese via Thailand, and *jammed of
course; 11785 is also really *jamming vs VOA Chinese at 09-14. Why are
the ChiCom so afraid of American radio? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX

** CUBA. 15230, April 13 at 1400, RHC is JBM here but OK on 15140.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING

** CUBA. 6100 & 6060 & 5040, April 14 at 0611, RHC English still going

(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13700 et al., Sunday April 14 at 1337, RHC `En Contacto`,
Marta reading a reception report from Claudio Galaz, Chile, about last
week`s Esperanto, April 7 at 1500-1530 on 15140; she and Arnie are
quite pleased this is making it all the way to Chile. She pronounces
his name as if Gálaz, altho he never puts an accent on the first A. He
also threw in ``fraternal`` verbiage such as ``hasta la victoria
siempre`, so I guess he is really a Commie; or just sucking up? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** JAPAN [non]. 9605, April 13 at 1410, NHK World Radio Japan in
English on new frequency from today via PALAU, ex-9625.

Ivo figured the change would also apply to the preceding Indonesian
broadcast, but April 14 at 1357, that is still on 9625 with a fast
SAH, 1400 timesignal and opening English still on 9625! But cuts off
at 1401 and 9605 comes up a few seconds later. Way to go, ex-LeSEA!
Doubtful that such sloppiness would have occurred at Yamata, etc.
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 101.5-WBFM, April 13 before and after 1700 UT, KOCD
Okeene is back on the air; after a week of broadcasting only 14
seconds out of each minute, and then a couple weeks off completely.
Now it`s continuous with praise music in Spanish; 1720 ID jointly with
the 93.9 LP in OKC, KWDW, omitting the denigrating but legal suffix -
LP. The ignorant announcer pronounces it ``Oquini``, while the last E
is silent, at least in Okiesh.

Do they really think their deity listen to this praise stuff on 101.5
and/or crave such reinforcement for Its fragile ego? If I were It, I
would urge My subjects to Get a Life, do something productive with
their Time on Earth, rather than praising Me.

BTW, Okeene`s signature annual event is imminent, the Rattlesnake
Roundup, April 26-28,
http://www.okeenesnakehunt.com
You can bet there will not be a word about this on 101.5. Why
persecute these poor creatures who are just minding their own
business?? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. Enid is just beyond the edge of the big storms to the
south and east, so it`s quite a surprise when the OG&E power goes off
sharp at 2030 UT April 13. Unfortunately I don`t have battery power
set up for the R75, and tho the line noise level should be down, there
is still storm noise. So to accomplish something, we go shopping to
another part of town with power. During which I bandscan caradio and
find the outage goes far beyond our neighborhood:

Dead air from KNID and the other Chisholm Trail stations on 107.1,
106.3, 97.7 and 95.7. Also 1390 KCRC. This means the FM transmitter
sites still have power but not the studio on Willow next to the three
AM towers. The FMs had resumed modulating by 2240 check.

These are off the air completely: the two LPFMs on 94.3 and 99.9 which
are on the same minitower. Other local AM & FM signals continue
unscathed. 94.3 carrier back on by 2240 but not 99.9.

We later hear that the power resumed at least in some parts at 2149.
But guess what, 1390 KCRC never comes back! Suffered some damage, or
AM appendage overlooked to restart?

Since KCRC was 24h NSP, very strong and also with spurs near 1330,
1360, 1420, 1450, this is a rare chance to DX something else at least
on 1390. Nothing audible under daytime conditions, and near sunset
just a graveyard-like jumble. Not until 0558 UT April 13 do I make a
serious effort to DX 1390, but there are still no dominant signals.
This is really to be expected as all the nearest 1390s in adjacent,
even second-adjacent states run quite low power at night. For
instance, KFFK Rogers AR is only 30 watts. KGNU Denver 139 watts. KNCK
Concordia KS 54 watts. KJPW Waynesville MO 111 watts. KHOB Hobbs NM
500 watts. KULP El Campo TX 500 watts. KBEC Waxahachie TX 260 watts.

I`m trying both on the DX-398 for DFing, and on the R75 for better
gain on the E-W longwire. Slightly above the jumble at 0558 UT is C&W
looping NW/SE; 0600 news from same? 0602 back to music. At 0605 I
think I *may* hear a WROA ID in passing, but I already know that
Gulfport MS is a possibility with its 5/5 kW U4 and NOStalgia format.

Awake at 1225 UT after sunrise, maybe still some SRS? C&W looping E/W.
at 1233 UT mentions ``1390`` amid C&W; 1253 UT now a station with
financial talk by M with W sidekickess; 1258 UT fade-out. 1300 UT a
ToH ID I just cannot copy but then can recognize Fox ``news`` sounder;
now that`s a useless clue! Give up while KCRC still remains silent
past 1800 UT April 14. All very frustrating. Maybe there will be
further chances (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Alan Gale, England, reports: ``Hi Glenn, No sign of World of Radio
this week, though HLR was coming in reasonably well on 6190 kHz right
up to 1300 UT then not a peep after that. I assumed that it may have
changed to either 7265 or 9485, but there was nothing on the former
and just QRM from a FSK station on the latter plus a lot of splatter
from a station on 9490 kHz.

A check on various webSDRs in northern Germany didn't find anything
either, so I can't work out if it was just propagation or if the
station actually went off air after the programme finished at 1300 UT.

It's back to IRRS 7290 again on Monday again then [1815]; that has
been a very good signal here over recent weeks..... :-) Alan``

I replied, ``Alan, Tnx for checking. I found the same situation via
UTw before 1500 Saturday April 13. The 9490 huge signal would be
Romania. Just heard from HLR and they have been unable to get the
latest WOR on for any of the three weekend broadcasts as long as I do
not have them ready before Friday afternoon their time. I am going to
try to get done earlier in the week, maybe Thursdays, except next week
I have medical appointments both on Thursday and Friday. Glenn``

As for the other HLR broadcasts, Manuel Méndez, Spain reports:

UNIDENTIFIED. 1380, April 14 at 1245 UT, blinds.com ad by Dennis
Prager. Unlike 1390 with a jumble of weak signals in the absence of

I try to find a station list for Prager, but no such thing; instead
you have to e-mail him with location and he will answer with

Glenn Hauser logs April 11-12-13, 2019

Glenn Hauser

** BRAZIL. 9664.515, April 12 at 0610, RVM is S4-S7 of music, varied
slightly upward but obviously now on the plus side of the halfway spot
in BFO stepping 9664/9665 back and forth on the R-75. Last night while
hunting for Cairo, had it on .511; no spurs noted now like on April 7
-8 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11840, April 11 at 2101, JBA RHC carrier, aside new frequency
11850 which is S9+20 but undermodulated. By 2252, there is enough
audio on 11840 to match it to 11850 --- and *also* on 11860 just
barely enough to hear thru the jamming overrun against RM. By 2334,
both 11840 & 11860 have risen to S4-S7, the latter over the jamming
level which has declined further at least by comparison, and still of
course all // modulation to 11850.

Therefore I am positive that 11840 & 11860 are in fact plus/minus 10
kHz spurs out of 11850, just like 11830 & 11850 were when 11840 was
the fundamental halfway in between, with similar relative signal
disparities. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

Also, I do not see 11840 on any of the new RHC schedule versions,
despite what Wolfie had concluded April 10: ``and 10 kHz down [from
11850] also fundamental Bauta tx unit {not spur signal} as 2100-0400
11840 BAU 100 160 SoAm Spanish Buenos Aires tx #5 sometimes irregular
on air, ex13740 kHz previously, wb`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
1977, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13650, April 11 at 2336, CRI is S9+30 but suptorted also with
annoying music in background, relay to Brasil but in Luso accent.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 4765, April 12 at 0046, R. Progreso is still AWOL, while 5025
Rebelde is nominal. The third night in a row. Ditto at 0331 check
April 13, fourth night. Transmitter totally broken? Something`s always
wrong at RadioCuba. That leaves weak CODAR swooshes, and maybe a
chance at Tajikistan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1977, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, April 12 at 0047, this RHC is off; 0050 back on with S9
carrier and whine, JBM on and off and on and off, in French or Kriyol.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, April 12 at 0048, RHC is S6-S* of dead air or JBM;
other English frequency 6000 is S9/S9+10 but suptorted JBM.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, April 12 at 0600, RHC English is S9+20 of dead air;
6000 is off; leaving 6060 & 6100 & 5040 still modulating in English.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 12200, April 12 at 0614, RHC English at S6 about = to band
noise level; second harmonic of 6100, a new one here. Otherwise you
might not know the MUF is this high in the nightmiddle. Something`s
always wrong at RHC. Will have to add it to the frequency list for
DXers Unlimited, right, Arnie? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 7380, April 12 at 2201, RHC dead air; 2203 finally opening in
French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT [non]. 9720, April 11 at 2329 past 2330, JBA carrier,
probably IBB Mandarin via Kuwait at 23-24, rather than R. Cairo as
also registered in A-19 HFCC for Portuguese to S America at 2215-2330.
Then 2330-2445 Arabic on 9660, 0045-0200 Spanish on 9665. I hear no
trace of these either before and after 0045, and believe that Cairo`s
S American service continues to be imaginary. 9665 of course is
occupied by BRAZIL, measured at 9664.511, yes now slightly less than a
semi-kHz off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1977, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS. 11805, April 12 at 1355, S9-S7 in
Myanmarianese, 1400 mentions Washington DC. Registered as TINIAN at
1230-1430 for IBB, i.e. R. Free Asia during this span, so maybe a
transmitter there be back in service. Had not noticed this frequency
before. BTW, Palau takes it over at 1430 weekends (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11819.987, April 12 at 2210, SBC is no longer off-
frequency to the plus side, Qur`aning until stops abruptly at 2214,
but dead air carrier stays on past 2221; nominal sked is until 2257*
per NDXC/Aoki, 2300 per HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 11 at 2247, no signal from VOT English to N
America, which if it ever started after 2200, should not have signed
off quite yet. April 12 at 2202, however, JBA talk presumably VOT, vs
stray Cuban pulse jamming if not RTTY (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 5800, April 12 at 0559, WRMI modulating Oldies at S9+10 vs
storm noise, and // 9395, both across ToH with no ID; and not // 5950
which is presumably SMTV now. 5800, still not on the WRMI skedgrid,
may have bumped up testing power but soon faded to way weaker. Which
transmitter is it? The only one with 24 hour blanks on the websked is
#4 as if 9455, at 160 degrees; but HFCC reg for 5800 is 181 degrees,
which is currently used by 5010 on its limited sked (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** CUBA. 7380, April 10 at 2200, new frequency for African service,
RHC opening in French, S9/+20. 2250 check still in Kriyol instead of
Portuguese from 2230; 2310 check in English, so that`s now at 23-24 on
7380 // 5040. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15370, April 10 at 1926, RHC OC prior to 1930 broadcast, but
with spurious hash peaks approx. plus/minus 3 kHz, even with no
modulation. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 4765, April 11 at 0321, NO signal from R. Progreso, just some
CODAR swishing. Richard Langley, NB, agrees, who first noted RP absent
the night before during its entire 0030-0400 span. 5025 Rebelde is
still on and nominal. What`s with RP? Something`s always wrong at
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13739.239, April 11 at 1327, RHC way off-frequency from
13740. As soon as I found new 13740 ex-13780 on April 7, I figured
same transmitter would eventually also get knocked off-frequency about
0.76 kHz below, and now it has been! Last measured March 25 on
13779.24. Considerably weaker than // 13700. Something`s always wrong
at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTEING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15230, April 11 at 1411, RHC is S9+10 but just barely
modulated; // 15140 better but still undermodulated. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA NORTH [and non]. 9435 // 11710, April 11 at 1317, VOK with
insufferable propaganda in stilted English accompanied by self-jamming
noise bleeding from adjacent transmitters. Almost identical signals,
S9+10 and S9 respectively. Have not heard these in some time, and
suspect one or both transmitters have been down; 13-14 is the prime
broadcast for North America, with a repeat on same at 15-16.

At least NK has the right idea about scheduling, while SK`s KBS World
Radio`s so-called N American service in English also at 13-14 UT
remains on 15575, inaudible almost yearound. At 1321 check I can
almost imagine a JBA carrier on 15575! If KBS put the same transmitter
on a clear 9 or 11 MHz frequency, it could be heard. In fact, 13-14
English is on // 9570, but 205 degrees and totally blocked here by
Habana relaying China (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1600, April 10 at 1933 UT, searching for some rare music
on the AM band, ``1600, The Cush, and 1600kush.com``, i.e. KUSH in oil
terminal Cushing OK, east of Stillwater. Cush is pronounced like in
cushion; then C&W or nostalgia, or ``Americana``.

[and non] This reminds me to enumerate the few stations around here on
daytime/groundwave listenable primarily with music, not including
foreign language, gospel huxters: 780 KSPI, 860 KKOW, 900 KSGL (split
with gospel huxters mornings), 1070v KFTI, 1280 KSOK, 1600 KUSH.
Everything else is talk or sportstalk (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Apr 10 at 2201, REE thrice-weekly English already
amid interview with an author instead of a musician! About Nazi
concentration camps; OK, Justin, but how about some material
explicitly about SPAIN??? Even news? Interviewing some foreigner you
can catch visiting Madrid is a cop-out (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** THAILAND. 9390, April 11 at 1316, English announcement introducing
Mandarin, S8-S4 with flutter. R. Thailand is back here for all
languages 1200-1430, beam changes between each from Udorn, including
the two English aimed 132 degrees at 1230-1300 & 1400-1430. Too bad
the English is not on 30 degrees USward like Mandarin now.

Other HSK9 English: 0000-0100 & 0200-0230 15590 to North America but
inaudible here until maybe midsummer?; 0530-0600 17640; 1900-2000 &
2030-2045 9920 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9830, April 10 at 2200, NO signal from VOT English to North
America, no RTTY either. Still nothing at 2209, but did not get around
to checking later in hour whether it ever came up. TRT'de her zaman
yanlış olan bir şeyler var.

In A-19 schedule, following frequencies are on earlier, probably one
of them prolonged, failing to QSY to 9830:
9460, 1600-2100 Turkish (someone already noted it on past 2100)
9620, 2030-2130 English
9635, 1930-2030 French
11615, 1930-2030 French
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1976 monitoring: NOT confirmed
Wednesday April 10 at 2100 on WRMI 9955 --- off the air past 2108+, as
I sometimes have to remark ``such are the risks of being the first
program in a transmission block`` (meanwhile 9395 WRMI is OK with RAE
Italian). However, WOR confirmed on WRMI webcast, and by recheck 2127,
9955 is on at S9-S6. Simultaneous 7490.17v WBCQ with WOR from 2100 is
JBA even with ECSS at 2105, a situation which is only going to worsen
as summer oncomes; also confirmed on webcast.

NOT confirmed, UT Thursday April 11 at 0000 on WRMI 7730, replaced by
Bible reading in Spanish. This is the fourth former WOR airing on WRMI
which has been canceled in the past 3 days! Quite a shakeup.

Whew, still confirmed UT Thursday April 11 at 0100 on WRMI 7780,
S9/S9+10. Next:
0930 UT Friday Unique Radio 5045-USB NSW
0130 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 [new; or 1977?]

** U S A. 7505v, April 11 at 0601, NO signal again tonight from WRNO
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15115-15120-15125, April 11 at 1412, cannot detect any
hybrid DRM from WINB; by 1431 now I can hear some weak tones on the
lower half, while any DRM noise on the upper half is indistinguishable
from band noise level. Maybe this works better toward Europe? 19m
propagation to here is pitiful except from Cuba. Presumably during
Unique Radio, Australia, program as now scheduled Wed/Thu/Fri 14-15

** CUBA. 9720, April 9 at 2112, NO signal from RHC, despite new sked
dated April 7 via Wolfgang Bueschel claiming English to Africa is now
here at 21-22. I quickly scan the 9, 11, 13 and even 15 MHz bands for
a replacement, including last year`s frequency 11880 --- zilch. I do
the same during the following two hours when 9720 continues absent, at
2245 and 2314, the latter when English continues on 5040.

I could not imagine RHC would be using 7 MHz band for this, so
unchecked, but Dave Kenny, UK found 7380! as new English-to-Africa
frequency, at 23-24, preceded 22-23 by French and Kriyol (instead of
Portuguese). Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11980, April 9 at 2315, CRI English relay at S9/S9+10. This
could easily be taken as a fundamental, but it`s really second
harmonic of 5990 which is only slightly stronger, S9+10/20; and
axually sounds better on 11980. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENINIG DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, UT Wed April 10 at 0033-0043, RHC English is S9+10/20
but just barely modulated, while // 6165 is undermodulated but
sufficient, during `DXers Unlimited` which Arnie introduces as the
``weekend edition``, so wrong show played? Some ham topic I zone out
from his mumbled presentation. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, April 10 at 0101 I happen to catch tail of Spanish
frequency announcement claiming 5040 start at 0200 --- but here we
are! And 11760 to stop at 0300. Also plugs now 4 FM frequencies 24h
covering fraxions of Cuba. But all in Spanish? No, English also claims
to be on them, but what is the breakdown also with other languages?
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** NEW ZEALAND [and non]. 9630, April 10 at 0612, RNZI is VG, but ~0.5
kHz het also audible from high side, i.e. R. Aparecida, Brasil (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NEW ZEALAND [and non]. 5980, April 10 at 1433, two VP signals a few
Hz apart beating, i.e. RNZI vs Shiokaze. The latter seems to go off
about 1435 as scheduled, but RNZI signal is still unstable, Doppler
fading? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U K. 11680, April 9 at 1804, VP S4-S6 news in French; 1820 think I
hear RFI mentioned, but it`s really BBCWS per HFCC, 1800-1830, 300 kW,
152 degrees from Woofferton (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1976 monitoring: NOT confirmed Tuesday April
9 at 2055 the 2030 on WRMI 7780, which had been reliable for many
months; instead, sounds like synthetic Bible readings, but not //
TOMBS 9330v etc. WRMI websked still shows WOR, so a mistake or
permanent change?

WOR also NOT confirmed Wednesday April 10 at 1030 on WRMI 5950, as I
happen to awaken; instead: SMTV! See WRMI item below for expanded SMTV
sked. Next WORs unless further WRMI changes:
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v
0000 UT Thursday WRMI 7730
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780

(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 4980, April 10 at 0058, WRMI with Supreme Master TV, 0059.5
Zanotti ID and off, extended an hour. Also more SMTV April 10 at 1033
instead of WORLD OF RADIO on Wednesday. The WRMI frequency grid
websked has now been updated as of April 7 for 24 hours of SMTV, one
frequency at a time, presumably 7 dpw, thus blowing away that WOR and
all other programming in these blox, mainly Systems D and F:

01-03 5950, 03-04 9395, 04-08 5950, 08-10 9395, 10-11 5950,
11-14 7570, 14-20 15770, 20-21 9395, 21-01 4980.

But the program skedgrids below that have not been updated to
correspond! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5010, UT Wed April 10 at 0100, WRMI in English with Bible
readings; frequency grid shows extension 0100-0130 Tue-Sat on System
H, but the System H program grid does not (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.960, April 9 at 1401-1404+, JJBBA carrier, no
doubt LRA36 on again since it`s Tuesday, but slightly lower than
measured last week. Manuel Méndez, Spain, meanwhile got a reply from
RNASG March 30 that they do operate Tue & Thu at 1230-1400, but are
looking into adding an evening broadcast. With staff names:

``Señor Director de la Emisora Gustavo Ernesto QUIROGA
Encargado de la Emisora José Ramón CALPANCHAY (Operador Técnico)
Locutoras:

Last Tuesday April 2 they did stay on until 2059* mostly music as
monitored by Bruce Churchill via the remote in Brasil.

Wolfgang Bueschel replies today April 9: ``Nothing visible on SDR's in
Perseus server net, but noted KiwiSDR net on Brazil Rio de Janeiro
island, off coast SDR installation. S=3 or -113dBm music program at
1540 UT at April 9, AGC off, manual gain 97dB. 73 wb df5sx``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 11850, April 8 at 2302, RHC Spanish again on new frequency,
and this time at S9+10/20 on fundamental, I can also detect the -10
kHz JBA spur on 11840. So the spur and fundamental have swapped
places. Jamming still running on 11860 but one or two carriers
underneath, no doubt the matching spur plus 10 from 11850. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, April 9 at 0607, another hour of RHC English is still
running here and on the rest of The Cuban Five: 6165, 6100, 6060 all
sufficient, except 6000 JBA, much softer than 5995 Mali. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, April 9 at 1314, RHC is VP and JBM, still ex-6150 but
no 2x audible on 12000, and // 9640 which Wolfgang Bueschel found
missing earlier. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA NORTH [non]. 9465, April 9 at 1325, S4-S6 pop song stands out
from other E Asian programming; Aoki shows it`s Nippon no Kaze in
Korean via Paochung, TAIWAN at 1300-1330; followed immediately by FEBC
Bocaue in Yue, when I do have a much weaker signal (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. April 9 at 1420 UT, regional tropo DTV DX is
up; Hepburn map for 1500 UT shows Enid on the northern edge of level-1
enhancement, surrounding levels 2 and 3 in S Central OK. Most open UHF
and a few hi-VHF channels show BAD signals, but only one is decoding
solidly, from OKC:

RF 21, KUOT is the PSIP ID on all six of its subs, some with corner
bugs, some without or illegible. I later compare to rabbitears.info:

21-1, bug upper right Y in a circle and below that ctvn.org for
Cornerstone TV
21-2, no bug but r-e listed as IBN TV; what`s that?
21-3, 3ABN LR
21-4, AFTV, not 3ABN Latino as in r-e (AmFacts - Amazing Facts)
21-5, HopeChannel, UR below a logo - NO audio!! r-e says 3ABN Proclaim
21-6, unID; r-e has only 1 thru 5!

Rabbitears says this is really KUOT-CD, 15 kW ERP at 591 feet above
ground level; slightly direxional favoring NW. Digital channel 21,
display channel 19 --- no the display channel is also 21 now.

This holds up solid on both my broken rooftop antennas, over an hour
until about 1535 UT fade below threshold. Some of the channels are
same as on my local 3ABN translator K17JN-D which *still* is emitting
subs 1, 3, and 5 only, as per PSIPs except 17-1 only with callsign:
17-1, 3ABN bug LR
17-3, AmFacts and bug LR
17-5, Hope201 and HopeChannel bug UR

At 1601-1604 UT another bandscan finds Wichitans in from the north,
decoding or semi-decoding into my SSE/SE-facing antennas:

RF 45, KSNW DT 3-1 --- still not repacked to 15 where will collide
with KTBO OKC; also with: 3-2 Telemun[do]; 3-3 Ion; 3-4 Justice
RF 35, MyTV 36-1, i.e. KMTW Hutchinson
RF 31, KDCU-DT 31-1, Univision; too weak to explore -2, -3, -4
RF 26, FOX 24-1 [obviously KSAS --- and OKC`s Fox on RF 24, 25-1 KOKH,
also PSIP IDs only as FOX!]

via ROMANIA, scheduled for 1800 (ex-1900) UT Mondays on 7290:

From 1758 UT Monday April 8, I am instead hearing Chinese music, 1800
timesignal, CNR1 theme. NO IRRS --- HFCC now has CNR Beijing scheduled
until 1805, and it does go off and/or is replaced by a strong tone,
presumably IRRS getting ready and then open carrier. Soon I find this
timely notice from IRRS:

``Hi Glenn, Due to a last minute schedule change, we are starting 15
min later on 7290 kHz (1815-1915 UT daily, Summer), so your program
goes on air at 1815 UT (20:15 CEST) on Monday. 73, Alfredo Cotroneo``

So that avoids the CNR overlap. But there is considerable splash from
7280 in Spanish, 7300 in German. 7280 is Vietnam direct; 7300 is Iran
until 1820. I notify the above change to the WOR iog just in time at
1812.

WOR does start promptly at 1815, good signal. Bruce Churchill, CA,
replies: ``Nice signal from IRRS at 1822 8 April from KiwiSDR in Bay
of Islands NZ (path length nearly 10,800 miles) - SINPO 3/4,3544. At
1836 a white noise source co-channel wiped out the program, but
fortunately switching modes to USB solved that issue. Switched back to
AMN mode at 1850.5 and the noise was gone. However CRI's 500 kW 7295
xmtr coming on at 1857 forced me to switch to LSB mode - again this
eliminated the QRM. World of Radio program from tune-in to 1844,
Feature Story News (FSN) news broadcast at 1844.5, then "Shortwave
Report" at 1849.5 with extracts of news & opinion from Deutsche Welle,
Radio Habana Cuba and Russian Radio. Carrier off promptly at 1915.
Bruce``

Next scheduled WOR broadcast is 0030 UT Tuesday April 9 on WRMI 7730
--- but checked at 0041 thru 0059, VG Wavescan is playing instead!
Mistake? WS is already scheduled immediately prior at 0000, so twice
in a row, or swapped with WOR at 0000? Anybody hear it then? Websked
still shows 0030 WOR.

WOR still confirmed UT Tue Apr 9 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, fair S9+10.
Next:
2030 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5950
2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v
0000 UT Thursday WRMI 7730
0100 UT Thursday WRMI 7780
0930 UT Friday Unique Radio 5045-USB NSW
0130 UT Saturday WRMI 7780 [new; or 1977?]
