** CUBA. 11880, Oct 12 at 2302, NO signal from RHC English; also off
in Spanish: 11850 and its 11840/11860 parasites: something`s always wrong at RHC. But on are: 11760 with humbuzz, 11670; and 11980 JBA probably 2 x 5990 CRI English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 5990, Oct 13 at 0142, RHC English with thin-voiced YL, wrong frequency instead of 6000; and also JBA on 2X = 11980; // 6165 on right frequency instead of 6145. Thus of the two NAm English channels at 00-05, you never know which two of four frequencies will be in use. Something`s something`s always always wrong wrong at at RHC RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11850, Oct 13 at 0143, RHC Spanish is S9/+10 but suptorted, rather than completely off 2 hours and 41 minutes earlier. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA [non]. 11860, Wed Oct 12 on caradio, nothing but choral music on R. Martí, various chex during the 17-18 UT hour, no jamming heard. unseems sacred, but program sked shows for this date and time: https://www.radiotelevisionmarti.com/radio/schedule/4 easily reached via Alan Roe`s WORLD OF RADIO Hitlist: ``13:00 - 14:00 [EDT] La Santa Misa PROGRAMACIÓN EN-VIVO DESDE LA ERMITA DE LA CARIDAD``, i.e. the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity, in, where else, Miami, thus violating Separation of Church and State. Tripadvisor explains: ``es un templo católico de la Arquidiócesis de Miami dedicado a Nuestra Señora de la Caridad, Patrona de Cuba, ubicado en Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KASHMIR [non]. 15170, Oct 12 at 1505, JBA carrier direct, 1508 late tune-in via UTwente SDR to another weekly Kashmir Citivas, from IRRS, worse than usual, not solid, only S9-S6 --- and it`s completely in English! about legacy of British colonialism, atop usual strumming. I notify the WOR iog but it`s too late, 1511 switch back to Urdu talk. No Western music fill this week, chopped off at 1529* but not before we hear the last two notes of the RRI IS, pause, and then the first note, before gone; tantalizing those who guessed this via Bulgaria? Instead of ROMANIA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MARTINIQUE. 18133.4-USB correct FM4LV frequency in last report, not typo 18134.4 (Glenn Hauser, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Oct 12 at 2301 and 11940 at 2312, zero signals from the two REE frequencies scheduled to run past 2305 weekdays: maybe the geomag storm have delayedly hit, outwiping such prop. At 2100, K-index was 3 with moderate space weather = G2-level storms preceding and predicting. By 2400, same except no more predicted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring; next: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [? not Oct 6] 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support; thanks this week to Kelly Bogues, Colorado for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com a.k.a.. Rabishu, he says, ``Thanks Glenn for all the many many years of WOR. I have been hearing you for decades. You're a shortwave inspiration and I will always remain inspired by you.`` One may also contribute by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, Oct 12 at 0252, WBCQ World`s Last Chance is on again, VG S9+20/30, Canadian-accented interviewer with someone about Antarctica; anti-Rothschild, anti-elite. Wondering if some other far-right political show? Not your usual pontificating. Oh2: Then country song so wacko it could be taken as a parody on any other station, like: there was never a man on the moon, it was made-for-tv; stars and moon are not that far away, all we have is under a dome; there are no satellites, no matter how upwards dishes are aimed, they are really picking up terrestrial signals, from this Flat Earth; partly paraphrased. 9330 is now much stronger than its nearest neighbor SW station, 9265 WINB; but way above other WBCQs: 7490v JBA, 6160v TOMBS. 0259 a few notes of the menacing WLCR theme before cutoff the air. If I happened to tune in now, I would have concluded it`s still AWOL. Cut back on the air at *0300.7 with legal ID by AW, and then YL WLC ID also as on WBCQ, more English. Presumably had to break for antenna rotation, but no difference here before/after signal levels. HFCC shows at 0300 it goes from 245 to 270 degrees, but also changes antenna designator from 805 to 216, huh? Both as only 250 kW. Surely it`s the exact same Ampegon rotatable, but HFCC references: 805 LPH18/36.5/32.2/16.7/1.4/13.2/200 216 AHR(S)4/4/0.5 Maybe someone can explain that? From log periodic to rhombic? HFCC provides no key or explanation to its lengthy antenna reference table included in the zips with schedules (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, Oct 12 at 2256, WRMI with rock is S9+20/30, despite alleged SSE angle, strong enough to audiblize plus/minus 5 kHz parasitic spurs --- but none detected now: problem fixed, or intermittent; or differing transmitter units and/or antennas subject to those? The messy modulation from TOMBS elsewhen could also be responsible, not from that now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Oct 12 at 0324, VP signal in presumed Hindi from presumed WRNO as nothing else is scheduled in A-21; usually much stronger when on, but at that awkward 1-megameter distance; and was missing last night just after 0100. It`s hard to believe this transpolar signal accomplish any significant service to India at 8:45-9:30 am IST (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6932?-USB?, Oct 12 at 2259, pirate music I can`t get to resolve in LSB or USB, stepping up and down 1 kHz; and then gone. Maybe the problem be the unrecognizable music. Not very, but the closest log to this in HFU is unID on 6933 earlier: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87648.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 15833-USB, Oct 12 at 2303, 2-way in Spanish discussing putas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0323 UT October 13

** CUBA. 13637 & 13763 approx., Oct 11 at 1414, FMish weak S3
spurblobs from S9+10 RHC 13700-AM, plus/minus ~63 kHz. With signature F# above Cmiddle tones. Welcome back! Despite almost daily morningly bandscans, nonesuch noted for months. Last time a search hits on ``spurblob 13700`` was my report of July 19 & 16. I knew they could do it! Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15230, Oct 11 at 2218, S8-S9 of dead air from RHC, where something`s always wrong; while 15370 in Spanish is S9+10/20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MARTINIQUE. 18134.4-USB, Oct 11 at 2214, FM4LV keeps repeating ID only with different fonetix, as if in some contest; see UNIDENTIFIED. So no doubt about it except whether it`s really the caller or the callee. No replies heard. His qrz.com reveals no details beyond name and QSL only via a W3 manager, not even Where in MQ: ``FM4LV Martinique flag Martinique, Gérard LUCE``; but does illustrate his nice QSL of six ladies in elaborate costumes: https://cdn-bio.qrz.com/v/fm4lv/FM4LV.jpg Now no need to jump thru hoops to get one (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** PANAMA. 18133.2-USB, Oct 11 at 2204, HP3SS discussing remote control setups so others from abroad can operate from his QTH in Panamá; sounds like an American. QRZ.com info: ``HP3SS Panama flag Panama, Robby Robertson, Volcán, Panamá. I have been living in Panama since October 2015. I operated as HP3/VY2SS for almost year while I waited for my Panama call. It doesn't normally take that long. I live in Volcan, Chiriquí Province. I am at 4550 ft ASL. Temp is always 23C and I like it here. I enjoy contesting and DX`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SAO TOME E PRINCIPE. 12030.055V, Oct 11 at 0627 French talk, JBA yet the SSOB. Is low latitude propagation from VOA Pinheira relay, French 0600-0629 daily. This site often significantly off-frequency, does not speak well for USAGM engineering. V indicates it`s also audibly wavering, while a small v would merely indicate varies but steady at the moment (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, Mon Oct 11 at 2200, token English from REE says main topic will be part 2 about US/Spain relations in Cold War, including the SAC bombing incident. Geomag disturbance predicted not hit yet as this holds up well S8-S9, also audible backwards on 15520 but 11940 blocked by wideband FMish splash maybe local (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2107 monitoring: confirmed Sunday October 10 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, 918 kHz, S9+8 into nearby Noale SDR. Also confirmed Sun Oct 10 at 2230 on WRMIs: 5950, VG S9+20/30 and 9955 S9+20, both into Tennessee SDR. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 after 0130 on WRN N America webcast. Also confirmed UT Mon Oct 11 from 0301 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160-, minus 53 Hz = 6159.947, S9+10/15 into Maryland SDR; with ACI from Cuba back on 6165 ex-6145 last night. Next, not until Wednesday: 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW [? not Oct 6] 2100 UT Wednesday WRMI 7780 to NE 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW, 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support; thanks this week to Kelly Bogues, Colorado for a contribution via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com a.k.a.. 9330, Oct 11 at 0622, WBCQ WLCR is gone again, no signal while these remain VG: 9265 WINB, 9395 & 9455 & 9955 WRMI. 9330 still gone at 2223 Oct 11 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), Oct 11 at 2330 after semi-UBMP repeat, WBCQ webcast plays national spot commercial for McDonalds` Breakfasts, then immediately `Camp Constitution Radio` on an anti-vax rant which he expects will get him banned from You Tube. Does McD corporate know what it is really sponsoring here? Assuming CCR set this up, the price for a single spot in terms of domestic radio could well pay for the entire semihour program`s SW airtime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, Oct 11 at 0105, again no signal from WRNO (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 18157-USB, Oct 10 at 2213, pileup after a DX station. US hams keep blasting their own calls and nothing else time and again over each other. I withhold IDing them. Once in the mess, I tentatively hear a weak HC2+ call from Ecuador, maybe the target. This is fun? Another pileup on 18160-USB. The F2 MUF was way up with lots of 28 MHz TA contacts NAm/Europe blacklined on DX Map but nothing much here, not even 10m beacons (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. See MARTINIQUE, PANAMA. Higher in the 18 MHz band, pileups as there must be some kind of contest, maybe not DX, mostly US & Canadians repeating their calls over and over, apparently hoping someone will reply without even saying CQ or QRZ --- that would gobble up valuable milliseconds. From about 18154 to 18165, October 11 at 2210-2215, stations spaced at fraxion of kHz intervals, making for not only CCI but lots of adjacent SSB QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0022 UT October 12

Was this Grimesland`s failure or somewhere upstreamm? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 13840, Oct 10 at 0620, RNZP again tonight on frequency extended instead of 11725, discussion about divorce and marriage, good S9. Nothing on 11725 or 7245. That would be the `TED Radio Hour`, from NPR, Sunday 7:04 pm local: https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/schedules/20211010 Leave it to NZ to have the good sense to broadcast some US NPR programs on SW, unlike any of our own stations. Altho always misleadingly headed as effective from start of season March 28, instead of latest revision date, the How To Listen sked has belatedly now been updated to eliminate 11725 in our late-nights: ``28 Mar 2021 - 30 Oct 2021 UTC kHz Target Days 00:00 - 02:58 15720 Pacific Daily 02:59 - 06:58 13840 Pacific Daily 06:59 - 08:58 7245 Pacific Mon - Fri 06:59 - 12:58 7245 Pacific Sat Sun 08:59 - 12:58 7245 NW Pacific Solomon Isl PNG Mon - Fri 12:59 - 16:50 5980 Pacific Sun - Fri 12:59 - 18:58 5980 Pacific Sat 16:51 - 17:35 6115 DRM Tonga Niue Samoa Cook Islands Sun - Fri 17:36 - 19:50 9760 DRM Tonga Niue Samoa Cook Islands Sun - Fri 18:59 - 19:58 11725 Pacific Sat 19:51 - 20:58 11690 DRM Tonga Niue Samoa Cook Islands Sun - Fri 19:59 - 21:58 13840 Pacific Sat 20:59 - 21:58 13840 Pacific Sun - Fri 21:59 - 00:00 15720 Pacific Daily from 25 Sep`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. `Weekend Radio` comedy show from WCLV Cleveland has a competition to present funny faux-pas from the press, so we submitted this from our local paper: https://www.w4uvh.net/EnidEagle_cannibals_notated.jpg It won the prize of CD already received, Bridge 9470, ``Berl Senofsky in Concert at EXPO `58 Brussels``, violin and piano music by Ravel, Bartók, Rachmaninoff, Ysaÿe, Creston, Wieniawski, Bach, Brahms2. Here`s a lo-fi capture of that segment on the UT Oct 10 show at 0326: https://www.w4uvh.net/WeekendRadio_prize.mp3 Furthermore, as we later notified Sagebrush Bob, the Eagle ed/pub later wrote a whole column about this: https://www.enidnews.com/opinion/column-we-hate-bloopers-but-sometimes-they-can-be-pretty-funny/article_d20e87c0-220d-11ec-ab09-3fd231bad106.html (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. Also confirmed on NEXUS-IBA webcast-only at 2334 about 3 or 4 minutes behind WRMI, so they must still be sticking in some FS News first, probably causing a few minutes of WOR to be chopped at the end. Also confirmed UT Sunday October 10 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG S9+30 direct but not enough to eliminate S7/S9 storm noise level from South Dakota/Minnesota and Bahamas/Cuba. Not confirmed UT Sunday Oct 10 circa 0315 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM: still completely off the air as it was at 1930. Zzz past 1300 Sun Oct 10; did anyone hear the new 1230 on WMRI Europe via Channel 292, Germany, 9670? And how was the QRM from Vietnamese clandestine via Taiwan, and jamming? Then I check other 31m band signals and find other USAs are also VP; or JBACs even from WRMI 9955, 9455, 9395; maybe 9330 WBCQ. But Eurosigs much further away are VG: 9420 Greece S9/+10; 9490 República/France S9/+10 and no jamming audible. Close-in MUF must be sharp between 8 and 9 MHz; because N Americans below 8 remain VG: 7850 CHU; WRMIs 7780 S9+20; 7730 & 7570 S9+30/40 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (7489.9v), UT Sat Oct 9 at 0000, WBCQ webcast with `AAAWWW`, again very overmodulated/distorted. ``Hide the silverware``, hmmm, is this a rerun? A & A are yelling over each other with usual anti-American rants. I switch the Maryland SDR to this from the real pirate band, where sound is a bit less distorted but also with RHC-like humbuzz. They start talking about spotted dicks, drinking teguila, on 7490, 6160 and 4790 preferably in meaningless ``kilocycles`` instead of kHz; what`s wrong with Canada? I can`t take another hour of this broadcasting, distorted in more ways than one. So here`s John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490. Allan half undressed in a hot studio in a warm Fla. Allan and Angela bantering back and forth about several subjects which sort of morphed into some blather about "community" and how the definition has changed over the years and how Covid accelerated the change. A mention of the stolen election by Angela. Even some talk of worldwide shortages of things and some China bashing. Allan announced that the superstation was up and running well but before he could finish that there was a phone call at 0031 from Mr. Mike to talk about the upcoming Nearfest next weekend. Allan then reads an article from Radio World about shortwave tech that I think he's read before. Reading of emails at 0055. Closing prayer at 0058. It was mentioned that they'd had many small problems with the new transmitter since replacing the big tube and was implied that one of the repairmen was still at the station tinkering with things. Off the air at 0100. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Both the AM and FM were co-owned in the late 70's when 1310 was a Country Music station, and 98.7 was Album Rock KYTX (I lived in Amarillo at the time and recall hearing the original transmitter tests for 98.7 during the early morning hours while driving to work.) KZIP was sold around 1981 flipping to a Spanish language format, while 98.7 has had several owners, call signs, and formats over the years. Starting to fade down. Recheck Oct 6 at 0022, no signal to remotes in Europe, E N America, N S America. Only 13815 entry in EiBi, Aoki and HFCC is 1800-1900, Algeria via France in Arabic and French. Some mild tropo over OK & KS October 4 morning 1516-1530+ UT, besides several more BAD signals on RF 11, 10, 8: RF 14, KOCY DTV, virtual PSIP as 48-3. Why not 48-1? My first confirmation of this, while KOCY OKC with Estrella TV continues as part of the RF 29 KTUZ cluster along with two other supposedly competing Spanish networx, each with totally different virtual channels. W9WI.com lists only two different CPs for this -LP on 14, 15 kW and 7.5 kW. RF 20, no IDs on the PSIP, but Broken Arrow ad = Tulsa suburb. Otherwise displays as KQCW-HD 19-1. RF 36 shows as DTV 17-5 but no call! Got to be KDOR-TV Bartlesville, the TBN station, but in W9WI.com lists with only 4 virtual 17s and their fifth sub supposedly being 18.5 with Positiv. Did not find what program source is really on this. One megawatt. RF 34, 41-1 KMYT-TV. 812.5 kW from Tulsa with of course MyTV on main. RF 28, 44-1 ION. KTPX-TV, 1 megawatt, CoL Okmulgee = Tulsa market. Six channels, four of which are shoppers, 44-3 = IONPlus; two of the others are not 44+ virtually. RF 22, 22-1 KTOU-LD, 15 kW from OKC. Has an APP for only 9.8 kW, unknown location. Invisible here without tropo. RF 12, 12-3 but then leads to 33-3 Antenna. Confusing situation. The RF 12 in OK is KGEB ``53`` but not listed with Antenna network. Must really be KSCW-DT, Wichita KS, which is only 15 kW, but in W9WI.com by channel its virtual channels are ``36.`` not 33! A mistake, or out-of-date info? The other subs match up: 33-4 Start TV, 33-2 Decades, 33-1 KSCW-DT in local news, and weather with 12 logo in UL corner of screen. W9WI.com by state does show virtual 33 not 36. But there is *another* KSCW-DT on RF 12 with 66.4 kW AND virtual 12. Callsign of both KSCW-DT, but RF 33 is licensed as an LD, while RF 12 is LIC as DT. Is one of them really in Hutch, the other in Wich? NO, same geo coords for both in W9WI.oom. Again the only RF channel I am really getting is 12. 33 would be blocked by KOCB ``34`` OKC, and I already had something else as above on RF 36! CBS for Wichita market was originally KTVH ch A12 Hutchinson, but its successor KWCH Hutchinson is now W9WI.com-listed both RF and virtual as channel 19 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A. 7489.90 approx., Oct 4 at 0610, surprised to find WBCQ on air at this late hour, not even for TOMBS as on 6160- & 4790-, but S9/+10 of rock music, 0611 Radio Newyork International singing ID, 0616 Allen Sane ID, taking a ``live`` call. Maybe some kind of test. Wolfgang Bueschel, Germany, logged this shortly later, via a remote? not specified: ``7489.904 poor string, empty, likely EXCITER string outlet only, at 0629 UT. 73 wb df5sx wwdxc topnews``. It was certainly full-power when I heard it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, Oct 4 at 0139 check, no signal from WLCR/WBCQ; after an absence, I had heard strong open carrier only 7 hours earlier, and after that several others reported same intermittently; meanwhile the WLCR relays via other sites were also absent. Still no 9330 signal at 2348 October 4 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7490-, Oct 4 at 2300, WBCQ with first half of `UBMP` I missed 25 hours earlier, this time good music from Brunei. Who remembers like I do, without looking it up, the last/only SW frequency from there? Maryland remote SAS shows minus 95 Hz = 7489.905 at S9+10/20. I am listening via that since own webcast is still distorted into the red. Chopped off at 2330 for ID and ad for St. Jude`s, before `Camp Constitution Radio` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** UZBEKISTAN. 11539.90, Oct 4 at 1456, JBA talk. EiBi shows Voice of Wilderness, for Korea North on ``11540``. Typical offfrequenciness by Tashkent site. Per WRTH, VOW is produced in S Korea by Cornerstone Ministries based in California (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0028 UT October 5

Glenn Hauser logs October 3-4, 2021
Glenn Hauser
** CANADA. 2749-USB, Oct 4 at 0108, YL with marine weather in French,
forecasts for lundi, mercredi, jeudi, etc. DXinfocentre.com says at this hour it would be VCO Sydney NS starting at 0040, 550 watts bilingual. Next would be Yarmouth from 0140 and Halifax 0240. First logs of these for the season vs the summer/storm noise level. 2598-USB, Oct 4 at 0109, YL with marine weather in English, always weaker than 2749s, S3 to S2.5 close to the noise level. Starting at 0107 is VCM, 600 watts from St. Anthony which is on The Rock, but listed with (LABRADOR); not sure what that means, transmitter one place, source and or info about the other? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS. 800, Oct 4 at 0155, Spanish in the mix on E/W loop despite KQCV OKC and CKLW Windsor. TWR a.k.a. BONAIRE is SS at 0000-0500 for Cuba and Caribbean, so a favorable azimuth for us. MW News Oct has an article explaining why despite a 440 kW transmitter, PJB is no longer easily into Europe, but best chance when for Carib in general (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 590, Oct 4 at 0053, classical music, got to be CMBF, Radio Musical Nacional, 25 kW from La Julia, Mayabeque near Habana. Only one other CM on 590, a Rebelde in far Guantánamo. Best by far on my E/W loop, buried on the N/S shortwire. Why can`t I hear a single US station classical on AM? ¡Viva la revolución! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 4747 approx., Oct 4 at 0124, scratchy S7 spur out of 4765 Radio Progreso, which is S9+35 and distorted, QRMing CODAR; the cadence of the spur matches the music on 4765. Matched by another about 4783; full range each covers: approx. 4744-4748 & 4778-4785. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 6165, Oct 4 at 0134, RHC in wrong language, Spanish not English and // 5040; while 6000 is not // in music presumably correct English service. 11670 & 11760, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0142, RHC `En Contacto` DX program in progress, about a transponder change at the ISS, but these two frequencies are suptorted, S3-S6. 11850 is not only suptorted but just barely modulated as she is apparently citing the times for this show but like last week I am not paying close attention beyond hearing ``0235`` which would be wrong instead of 0135. Elsewhere: 9710 with heavy CCI from China; 9535 weaker but clearer. 13740, Oct 4 at 0144 another Spanish frequency check, sometimes on, sometimes not, but now it`s in ENGLISH! Apparently crossed up with 6165 in Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6924-USB, Oct 4 at 0106, hard rock at S9. 0137 still going but off by 0149 check. A few logs here say Two Dog Radio: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87249.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6876-USB, Oct 4 at 0107, guitar music S9; 0122 DJ with Brit accent says ``Best Smooth Jazz``. 0137 still going. 0150 still VG with jazz piano; 0153 Brit chat spells out LUCAS, ``Smooth Jazz`` as if name of ``station`` if not programme. 0201 Smooth Jazz dedication to some YL for birthday? We hear a few words from her. Accents are so heavy, hard for me to understand despite VG reception, S9+10. Mentions bestsmoothjazz.com and rescued cats. That website exists in London, England, with TV show of Oct 2, this one? And promo next one of Oct 14. These say 6876 is really Mix Radio International, starting at 2133 Oct 2 on 6866, and move to 6876 at 2226: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87233.0.html Hardly anybody cites ``Best Smooth Jazz``, but MRI says after a comment: ``Quote from: dave524 on Today at 01:53 --- For the wide signal I've found the Digital mode in SDRUno with the 12K width gives the best sound, great sounding show as usual`` ``That`s great because our transmitter is optimized for wideband SDR for best sound. At the same time we will sound good on any radio that is on frequency with our GPS. Thank you for your posts and especially tuning into MRI tonight. Logged Mix`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, Oct 4 at 0149, weak music S3-S4 with fadeouts. Much weaker than the others. Was not hearing this while 6924 was on. These say it`s Radio 48: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,87248.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1020, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0056, ``Born Too Late`` pop music on near-local signal: got to be KOKP Perry, one of `Triple Play Sports Radio` breaking main format. Past 0101, ``gotta get out of here, The Old Stillwater Jukebox``, back next Sunday, ``Good night, Oklahoma, Tom Dirato``, 0103 to dead air, JBA talk, CCI? No, gradual fadeup of Patriot Radio Network, I suppose sports rather than political. So what time does the Jukebox start??? He doesn`t say and the website does not either, but has a rotating display on homepage: http://tripleplaysportsradio.com/ I confirmed this // 105.1 KOSB Perry, local quality but not audible on 1580 KOKB Blackwell which is VG daytime, but now should be 49 watts. I never hear either of these FMs on website: ``now 5-deep with 93.1 Stillwater, 93.3 Ponca City``. Presumably translators, but why do they need one in S-W? Maybe separately programmed when games pile up, triple-play not enough. KOKP 24h is plenty to ruin reception of Roswell, Pittsburgh or anything else on 1020 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A. 3390.5-USB, Oct 4 at 0113 UT, NF01FB, fonetikaly more than once, ``regional net has closed``; MARS? Have not heard a call of such a format before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 3819-USB, Oct 4 at 0115, the non-LSB hams again in technical discussions, and this time I copy some calls: K5MXJ interjecting, AA5KG, two of them talking over each other for a minute. QRZ.com shows: K5MXJ, Kenneth M Jones, Jr, Houston, TX 77075; AA5KG, ALAN C PETERSON, Pueblo West, CO 81007 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4095.65, Oct 4 at 0120, whoops and CW ID as DW, JBA vs S5 noise level, so Desert Whooper, no sign of any voice now. DW replied to my last report: ``Hello Glenn! Thanks for you great HF listings! That is a very interesting intercept! Definitely not any voice transmissions coming from DW. What was your receive location and receiver bandwidth? There is an ITU channel 401 on 4095 KHz for ships to transmit on. Maybe you were hearing a ship plus DW whoops in your receiver??`` To which I replied: ``Enid OK. Not sure of the bandwidth, on the R75 but normal USB tuning in 1-kHz steps landing right on 4095 where the SSB sounded normal. Maybe ship, but seemed coordinated with the whoops and voicing the kind of info which would otherwise be sent in CW. Wish I could have heard it longer and better. Also, I did not detect any CW during this log. While the voice was on 4095.00, I can`t be sure of the whooper frequency, hard to pin down by its nature without a carrier but also heard tuned to 4095.00`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6993, Oct 4 at 0104, at least two JBA carriers beating, I have been noticing lately; logged several times before, but I should do so at least once a year, cf. this from *2017* --- ``6993, Sept 10 at 0002, JBA carrier as almost always audible from presumed WH2XWF, experimental 164-watt transmitters with several locations in Florida, to study ionospheric disturbances, never IDing, nothing but dead air. We`ll see if this gets blown or flooded off. 6993, Sept 12 at 0133, no JBA carrier from presumed WH2XWF, the Florida ionospheric study transmitters, so maybe Irma-caused. But Sept 13 at 0200 the JBA carrier is reaudible. No pirates (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1895, DX LISTENING DIGEST)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed Sunday October 3 from 2000.5 on IRRS SW via AM Italia 918 kHz, S9-S8 after music, 2000 IRRS ID with Milano PO box, via Noale SDR. Also confirmed Sun Oct 3 at 2230 on WRMIs, 5950, S9+28, and 9955 two words behind, S9+32, both via Knoxville SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday October 4 at 0030 on WRMIs: 7730 VG direct; 9395, S9+22 and 9455, S8, both via Knoxville SDR. Also confirmed UT Monday October 4 from 0301.5 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160 minus 27 Hz = 6159.973 into Knoxville SDR; JL ran slightly over interrupted by a quick legal ID at 0300. S7 and must use narrow LSB to minimise splash from 6165 RHC, still in Spanish, q.v. One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5050, UT Mon Oct 4 at 0128, WWRB is S9+45, gospel huxter mixing with amateurish horn music, all distorted, then some horn only; 0130 YL introduces another program with guitar music, better modulation. This is active only on UT Sun & Mon, for a few hours local Sat and Sun evenings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0448 UT October 4

** CHINA. 12880, Oct 3 at 1452, Chinese S6-S4 with flutter, CNR1
jammer. 12500, Oct 3 at 1454, music S3-S5 with flutter, // 12880, CNR1 jammer. No others found in the WOOB 12-13 or 10-11 areas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15140, Oct 3 at 1854, RHC with S7/9+10 of dead air; by 1909 modulating in English; but supposed to be in Kriyol before 1900. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** IRELAND. 13264-USB, Oct 3 at 1451, YL VOLMET, JBA S0, i.e. Shannon scheduled here 24h (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. Re my Oct 2 report, Alan Roe replies on WOR iog: ``Hi Glenn, It's also worth mentioning that the RNZI/RNZPac weekly schedules at https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/schedules still also show "9:08PM [to 11:00PM] Sunday Night with Grant Walker" whereas the timings should be 8:08-10: PM, i.e. 0708-0900 UT, and the programme is now "The Sunday Night Retro Show with Phil O'Brien". I suspect that some (at least) of the rest of weekly schedule timings may also be one-hour off. Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K. 15510, Oct 3 at 1855, modern ME vocal jazzish music, S9/S6, 1859 Arabish announcement with contact info including .com, not finished when chopped off at 1859.5*. EiBi shows this is FEBA Radio Sama via Woofferton, while Aoki calls it IBRA Media/Radio Sama. So which is it? Radio Sama is not in the cross-reference page 524 of WRTH 2021. This transmission on a B-20 frequency appears on page 496 under SWEDEN: IBRA Media with no mention of Sama. Maybe it`s just a program, not a ``station``. FEBA refers to India and Pakistan, not Seychelles! but of course no Arabic or Sama there. BTW, the only ``International`` entry under PAK. The only SW entry in ``National`` sexion is 7265, Azad Kashmit Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 414-MCW kHz, Oct 3 at 0633 UT, ND beacon SU, which is 40 watts from SioUx City, Iowa; the only somewhat unusual one tonight altho not `new` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed UT Sunday October 3 ending at 0336 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, S9+20 direct vs storm noise, so started early circa 0307. Also confirmed Sunday October 3 at 1255 on NEW 1230 broadcast by WMRI Europe via Channel 292, GERMANY, 9670, S6-S8 into UTwente, atop CCI music. Normally I want to sleep an hour later, but good thing I alarmed myself since no one has replied to my explicit request for monitoring of this! 1259 music comes up, ``Piece of the Axion``, past hourtop, 1302 roboYL ``Dex Carter`` ``playing favorite songs until 1400``. While this music is running, I can`t hear QRMusic which may have stopped; I hope WMRI itself was not underlaying WOR with music. It so happens that the time for us coincides with that Vietnamese clandestine transmitted from Taiwan at 1230-1300 on 9670; EiBi says there is noise jamming too but I don`t hear that. WMRI`s entire experimental broadcast runs 1200-1600 Sundays; and Channel 292 schedule shows it`s direxional on two letters toward North America; they now display this with a proper great circle map. But it was not audible into Maine SDR on this day path, let alone to OK. Channel 292 transmits from Rohrbach in SE Germany, Bavaria near Ingolstadt, east of Stuttgart, between Nürnberg and München; only 520 km = 323 statute miles from UTwente SDR at Entschede, Netherlands; but evidently not inside the skip zone. Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria, also reports: ``World's Last Chance Radio relays via SPL and ENC-DMS off air. But on October 3 also no signal of World's Last Chance Radio via WBCQ-6 https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2021/10/no-signal-of-worlds-last-chance-radio.html -- 73! Ivo Ivanov`` Alan Holder, Isle of Wight, also reports Oct 3: ``Since October 1, I cannot locate WLC radio via the Woofferton relays: 17700 English 1700-1900, 9800 Arabic 1800-2100. I also checked 13840 Arabic this morning October 3 at 0930 (and 15780, 17520 alternatives) via Kostinbrod, but nothing heard. The WLC Web site still lists these broadcasts. Has Galal Doss fallen behind on his payments or have the relays been cancelled? Alan Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.`` 9330, however, Oct 3 at 1846, S9/+10 of dead air back on past 1925 with no modulation, off at 1930* and *1931 back on; surely this instead of Cuban spy (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085, Sun Oct 3 at 1849, rock music at S9, but weakened in daytime absorption just after local mean noon here, WTWW-2; checked since first hearing S9+10 of PPPP on 9475 WTWW-1. 2 is often on without 1 on this or 5830 at night, but not 1 without 2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4095.00-USB, Oct 3 at 0625, surprised to hear OM voice instead of CW, alternating with upward whoops; JBA in high storm noise level, but is giving temps in degrees; 0626 ID maybe? and ``out``; and later 0630 mentions UTC? There seem to be lots of beacons around this kHz. The ``Desert Whooper`` itself has been higher about 4095.6. I`ve asked the team there if that`s it, or what. A quick look at HF Underground does not find anything about voice on this exact frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 12747-USB, Oct 3 at 1453, 2-way talk seems Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. Some BAD TV signals Oct 3 at 1509 UT when there is some tropo in OK & KS: RF 8, 12, 14, 31. Likely Wichita market except 14 could be KOCW Hoisington KS, if not KOCY OKC which I have yet to confirm. Rooftop antenna remains fix-aimed toward OKC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report despatched at 1938 UT October 3

remotes, LRA36 is on again this Saturday, usual stuff of frequent IDs, historical talx, songs, i.e. 1525 hielo song, 1527 Antártida song; 1542 re-``sign-on``, 1545 Antda. song; 1552 rock; music past 1605 and 1617 tune-out. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NEW ZEALAND. 11725, Saturday October 2 at 0632, RNZI S9+10 the SSOB by far with honky-tonk piano music, announcement on the `Saturday Night` nationwide request show, always a fun listen. I first checked 7245 and found it empty. The current how-to-listen schedule is still self-contradictory: 04:59 - 06:58 11725 Pacific Daily 05:59 - 12:58 7245 Pacific Sat Sun 06:59 - 08:58 7245 Pacific Mon - Fri as if on both frequencies Sat & Sun at 0559-0658! They do have two transmitters but never? run both at once. As for the programme, another contradixion, for October 2: ``8:08 PM. Saturday Night Saturday nights on RNZ National is where Paul Brennan plays the songs YOU want to hear. All music from 7 till midnight (RNZ)`` Obviously it really starts at 0608 UT, since a week ago, NZ started imagining the local time zone be 13 hours ahead. This is rather too late even for me in the ``CDT`` of UT -5, but we shall ``gain`` an hour from November to make it appear just after local midnight and only hope there will still be a VG L&C frequency in B-21. If you are up late on our ``Friday night``, go hear this. https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturdaynight The programme page dated October 2 has playlists for each hour but not exact times. What I heard amid the first hour was: Winifred Atwell - Black And White Rag Extraterritorial listeners might not be refused since it is on SW: ``Saturday Night --- Your requests, nostalgia and musical memories. Saturday evening from 7pm - Midnight To make a request or contact the programme: saturdaynight@radionz.co.nz Text: 2101 [is this funxional worldwide, only 4 #? Topic is ``ladies day``, i.e. female organistes. Ends at 0030, so now supposed to start at 0000? Don`t count on it. I take off my phones but don`t stop the player; at 0039 I hear traces of TO --- yes, more such music, not played by ladies, but totally George Wright, i.e. a masculine person. WORLD OF RADIO 2106 monitoring: confirmed UT Friday October 1 at 0330 on WRMI 5985, S9/+10 into Bonaire SDR, with some reverby sound not on the original. Next airing is supposed to be Friday Oct 1 at 1815 on IRRS SW 7290 via Bulgaria, and on AM Italia 918 kHz. EVERYTHING went wrong; 7290 via UTwente: 1814 carrier seems on, S8/9+10 but no modulation. After 1815 joins WOR intro in progress but only for a few seconds. This keeps happening about once a minute for a few seconds each! To make matters worse, the last few times there is also audio from some other program mixing at equal level. Till I give up listening at 1823. I don`t need this needless frustration. 918 kHz via Noale remote: no WOR at all; music and occasional canned IDs in English, timechex in Italian. Scheduled to play again on 918 at 2030 UT, but I`m away; did anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Sat Oct 2 at 0130 on WRMI 9395: VP with jamming-like pulsing into Maryland SDR, but VG S9+10/20 clear into Missouri. Josiah in CA? Could it be the YHWH guy? Odds against. I was setting up to hear the following program, `Satanic Shortwave` at 2200-2230 on 9955, but too busy until it was just ending at 2228; confirmed anyway. I may hear a recording. Same program is to repeat in two weeks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6160 minus 52 Hz on Maryland SDR = 6159.948, Fri Oct 1 at 2353, I`m home just in time to hear another new SW show ending, `Cruisin Radio` via WBCQ. This will be weekly at 2300 Fridays for at least a bimonth. No way I could have heard this signal on the caradio. I also compare to Area 51 webcast of WBCQ, which is NOT carrying this but some other music. That`s understandable, as Cruisin` replaces Area 61 oldtimeradio programming. Yet both 6160- and webcast do join for `AAAWWW` which follows (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. (6160-), UT Sat Oct 2 from 0000, ``Area 51`` webcast with `AAAWWW` on WBCQ: for entire hour it`s overmodulating in the red, as A & A yell over each other. Please! quit yelling and/or turn down the pot so the old analog VU meter stays out of the red. Aside from all the ranting, it`s painful to try to listen to. First topic is about how they have been interviewed about pirate radio in the old days by the TV show `Inside Edition`. Since it`s syndicated, no telling when this will go on the air; maybe A&A will notify us. Angela says ``people just don`t get it`` -- what Free Speech is all about. Unlike previous week, takes several callers. 0015 first one says he is quitting something; talk about antennas; Canadian border blocked. 0021 Rabishu calls from Colorado. Has been monitoring ham nets a lot, such as Davidlist net from RSA at 02 Z daily. Frequencies vary but are shown at 7156list.com, where one may also register for contact. Has been going since December 2009; 0024 Rabishu says he may be interviewing gh and would like to put it on WBCQ website along with one he did years ago with Marion of the Attic. Says his Satanic SW aired on WRMI this evening. Allan says he should try to get gh to laugh (I fear my humor may be too subtle for some, not laughing out loud on the air.) 0026 datestamp as 1 October YOOLF 2021. 0027 another caller re Free Speech. Angela boycotts Land O`Lakes over removing Indian mascot. 0031 Allan rails against income tax again. Goes over several other programs WBCQ airs. WBCQ could not exist in Canada because ``Canada doesn`t license private shortwave broadcasters`` --- o yeah? What about CFRX, CFVP? At 0050 he finally reveals what WBCQ stands for, N.B.! --- ``WEINER BROADCAST COMMUNICATIONS QUINTESSENTIAL`` --- now we know. Asks for emails and replies a few; 0054 several items from Free Radio Weekly just in, but not including what Angela would like, ``Big Balls Broadcasting``. Was there a prayer? If so I missed it. John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 4790, 6160 and 7490. Allan and Angela in a hot studio in hot Fla and both of them half naked. Allan said that both he and Angela had been interviewed by Inside Edition concerning pirate radio. Some talk about the interview and the origins of WBCQ. Phone call at 0015 with a bit of antenna information. Another phone call followed immediately from a long time listener who wants to put a program on the station. Phone call at 0027 about free speech. Allan then stated that some of the programmers of the station had been interviewed and intimidated by the FBI. Allan said it was a persecution of free speech. Then a small political rant followed by a speech about the importance of free speech and how we could support it. Then a small rant about the IRS. He goes through the program list for the station naming the programs that he thinks are really good and laments the number of open slots in the schedule and offers special rates for pirates and free radio producers. Partial reading of the new Free Radio Weekly at 0054 and then into emails. Closing prayer at 0059 and off the air at 0100. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED.
