** CHINA [and non]. Don`t be fooled by CNR1 jamming as Sound of Hope

It can be very misleading to rely on some frequency-list references.
First of all, the way-out-of-band SOH transmitters are extremely low
power, maybe 100-watts. The ChiCom attempt to jam most of them with
high-power regular SWBC transmitters carrying CNR1 programming (rarely
Firedrake music). Thus if you hear Chinese on one of these
frequencies, your first assumption should be that it is CNR1 jamming,
unless definitely proven otherwise by specific ID, or *not* being in
// to many other CNR1 frequencies, even legitimate ones which are not
jamming.

Aoki/NDXC indicates the presence of jamming in some versions merely
with an *, easily ignored or overlooked. EiBi has separate entries for
the jammers; but not always are all included in either. Altho China
participates in HFCC, while preventing Taiwan and any clandestines
from doing so, China does not bother to register its jamming
transmissions. Would they even deny them if confronted?

I know copying real IDs in Chinese is difficult for us, but Ron Howard
quotes SOH: "Xiwang zhi sheng guoji guangbo diantai" (Sound of Hope
international broadcast station) ID given twice (once by OM and once
by YL).

Wolfgang Bueschel has done extensive surveys of these with remotes,
finding that Sound of Hope is usually slightly off-frequency while the
jammers are not. CNR1 programming includes timesignal on the hour,
while SOH does not. I often monitor until many of these close at 1400*
after TS. CNR1 jamming also applies to high-power inband transmissions
including RTI, VOA, RFA, and a few SOH, some of those in turn relaying
RFA.. Voice of Tibet and other broadcasts in Tibetan, and Uighur, and
even English are also subject to such jamming.

Every time some Westerner reports CNR1 jamming as if it were SOH, the
ChiCom must be very amused. 73, (Glenn Hauser, WORLD OF RADIO 2053)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 25 at 0203, again no signal from anonymous
mystery missionary station last heard on UT Sept 19. Such non-logs may
get a bit tiresome, but we need to keep checking as it originally
appeared without notice and recould; while awaiting any word from
connected? South American DXers about what and whence it really were,
subjunctively (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5080, Sept 24 at 0128, filthy spurblob with tell-tale F# tone
when tuned in FM mode, just like RHC often provides on 13 or 15 MHz
bands. This must be coming out of 5040 transmitter, so are there
others at 40 kHz intervals? Yes, but JBA on 5120 and 4960; surely one
on 5000 but totally blocked by strong WWV; in less favored locales may
well be QRMing WWV/H. By 0144 there is also a trace of program
modulation on 5080 as well as blob traces on 5120, 5160. Something`s
always wrong at RHC. 5025 Rebelde is still distorted but not involved.
Conveniently off the air clearing band for these is 5085 WTWW-2 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

First airing confirmed, UT Fri Sept 25 at 0130 on WRMIs, 5010, S7-S9
direct, // 5850 VG S9+10/20, and intact altho the post-music hit a bit
too quickly before my last word could finish, ``disclaimer`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4980, Sept 24 at 0620, weak music registering S9 on generous
meter, but undermodulated; like last night and lately, presumed a WRMI
transmitter as registered here but not on their website, at exciter
level of few watts or maybe a bit more to audiblize it this much
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2053)

** U S A. 4840, Sept 24 at 0618, WWCR, yet again S9+30 of dead air,
while 3215 and 5890 are successfully BSing. This keeps happening to
the 4840 transmitter, not that I really care. Wonder if there be
anyone in the 1300 WWCR Avenue building overnight who might notice?
There ought to be, with hundreds of kilowatts radiating - something.
The station burned down once before (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085, Sept 25 at 0128 & 0245 chex, WTWW-2 is off; not WTWW-1
as I typoed before. Clears the band for spurs from CUBA, q.v. (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Unfortunately awake Sept 24 at 1145 I reluctantly make a
quick check for Trans-Pacific carriers on the DX-398, finding only: a
trace on 846 kHz, Kiritimati? Usually heard around 0600, but now in
darkness several Pacificasians could also propagate, up to 250 kW from
Taiwan. It`s really too weak to DF. Walt Salmaniw, Victoria BC, said
Kiribati was inbooming there as early as 0515 today, which is
post-sunset at station, but no modulation to be heard.

And: JBA carrier on 774, difficult to DF, WSW or NW? Maybe both, i.e.
Australia and Japan. At 1152 I switch to the E-W longwire which gets
JBACs on 594, 774 and 1566. Resleep (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
2053)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 24 at 0138, again no signal from anonymous
missionary station, at Caribbean Netherlands SDR. But there is a JBA
signal showing on the AMSynch as carrier varying around -29 Hz, just
right for R. San Antonio, Perú as previously measured on 4939.971
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA. 600, Sept 23 from 2350, dominant signal at TWR Bonaire
SDR is Radio Libertad, HJHJ, Barranquilla, with usual preacher? or
advisor? soon giving phone number several times, 304-531-6140, copied
for sure. Googling that goes nowhere except maybe West Virginia, for
which 304 is the area code: I think not. No known international
country code 304. Also mentions Maranoa, but searching on that leads
only to a region in SE Queensland, Australia: I think not.

Rebelde Cuba maybe the understation. Before hourtop 2359 full ID for
Radio Libertad, HJHJ and *disclaimer* that following program does not
reflect editorial opinions of that station. Into VOA relay, but
starting with announcement about it being on HJHJ. Not hearing any
jammer from Venezuela yet, as had been reported. 0030 Sept 24, break
for HJHJ ID, ``enlace con la Voz de América`` --- this is so smooth I
suspect it not be a live feed, but produced in HJHJ studio from
previously accessed podcasts. Rebelde in background // 710 via Key
West SDR. Recheck 0125 about the same (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [non]. VOA relay on 600: see COLOMBIA

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2052 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday
September 23 from 2100:17 on WBCQ 7490.0, VP S5-S6 in noise level.
Frequency has been adjusted; it was long about 7490.06, yesterday
7490.02. I check during Turner at 0145 Sept 24 a Rochester KiwiSDR
which has SynchAM showing carrier varying slightly at minus 25 Hz,
i.e. 7489.975v, almost on spot.

Also confirmed UT Thu Sept 24 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9+10 direct
but more undermodulated than usual, a strain to copy. 0126 check via
UTwente, also undermodulated, but not such a problem at a tolerable
steady S9+10. Final SW airing of this edition. New WOR 2053 should be
ready by early UT Fri Sept 25 for first broadcasts on WRMIs at 0130 on
5010, 5850 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98-CUSB, Wed Sept 23 at 1523, LRA36 with good
S9+10 signal into Brasilia SDR; tnx reminder from Manuel Méndez, Spain
that it signed on today at *1335 when he could only hear it via
Brasil. YLs conversing and would be near 100% readable by a native
speaker, but they are rapidly casual rather than radio-enunciating.
1540 song; 1543, canned ID for `Corazón Antártico` program, and they
continue chatting, now something about sign-language for the deaf due
to some commemoration date; and then another about sexual exploitation
of children. Worthy causes, but are these even on the radar in
Antarctica?? 1551 song; 1601 ``radio pública`` ID for Antarctica
across Argentina. 1616 cuts off the air during music, but heard no
sign-off or even informal goodbye. Still off when I quit at 1621, as
nominal 1400-1600 sked as usual is very approximate. Will it repeat
later on this Saturday? The delayed Spanish/German/English RAE 7-hour
special postponed until Sept 19 was missed again because the radio op
was away at a Chilean base (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 335-MCW kHz, Sept 23 at 0628 UT, dash and YDL, ND beacon of
1000 watts at Chapleau, Ontario; at first under and then over BV in
Arkansas, see U S A (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. CNR1 jammer survey, Sept 23 at 1453-1459: none higher than:
12550 JBA carrier with flutter; all JBACs: 11460, 11440, 11170, 11150,
11120, 11100, 11070, 10960, 10820 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Sept 23 at 0201, R. Rebelde S9+20 and suptorted! Wiggle
that patchcord. 5055, JBA carrier at same time, no doubt leapfrog
mixing product of 5025 over 5040 RHC from same site.

4765, Sept 23 at 0207, R. Progreso is still on but also suptorted.
Recheck at 0619, still 5055 JBAC as 5040 fulcrum is prolonged past
0600. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEWFOUNDLAND [and non]. 2598-USB, UT Wed Sept 23 at 0224, marine
weather by roboYL in English, mentioning forecasts for Fri & Sat. Per
http://dxinfocentre.com/mb.htm
the most recent start time among the six stations alternating on this
frequency is 0207, from VOJ-6, Port-aux-Basques NL, with 400 watts.
Its other airings all start at :07 or in one case :37 past the hours.
And is bilingual with French.

2749-USB, UT Wed Sept 23 at 0225, marine weather by roboYL in French,
S7-S9; glad these are seasonally showing up again, but still plenty
noise level. Quite a while ago, but most recent start time on sked is
0140 from VAR-9 Yarmouth (Halifax) NS, 1200 watts in English/French.
All its emissions start at :40 past certain hours. As usual catching a
specific ID source is very difficult, let alone a callsign if ever
uttered. 2054, 2514 & 2582 are other such Canadian frequencies, but
scheduling or distancing very unfavorable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6159.93v, UT Wed Sept 23 at 0231, WBCQ good in what I
assumed would be `Amateur Radio Roundtable`, moved from 5130, but
chops off air at 0231.7* before I could confirm that, and before I
could finish remeasuring it; and does not come back by 0257. Not
overall power failure, as 7490.02v is still on BSing. But the updated
sked for 6160,
http://wbcq.com/schedule/index.php?fn=sked&freq=6160
shows `Hal Turner`, from 0100 only until 0200, as already scheduled
there. `A.R.R.` is one of only two programs still shown on 5130, at
0100-0230 UT Wed and the chopoff time here correlates, but I believe I
had checked 5130 before and heard nothing. Maybe the third semihour
was tacked on 6160 after Hal? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 335-MCW kHz, Sept 23 at 0628 UT, ND beacon BV, soon overcome
by a Canadian, q.v. At first thought it was Bartlesville OK until
rechecked its frequency, only 201 kHz. This BV is Batesville - Almond,
Arkansas, 25 watts.

347-MCW kHz, Sept 23 at 0633 UT, NDB AFK which is 25 watts from
Nebraska City, NE.

356-MCW kHz, Sept 23 at 0634 UT, NDB ODX, 25 watts from Ord, which is
in central Nebraska, NNW of Grand Island. Beacons from this
second-adjacent state are regulars here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5072.1 & 5097.9, Sept 23 at 0203, can no longer detect
parasitic spur carriers out of 5085 WTWW-1, which have been there for
years; despite 5085 hitting S9+20/30 with some hum. Something must
have been tweaked. But now there is a distorted blob circa 5082 at
S9+10/20, without a match circa 5088. Recheck at 0620, 5085 in S9+30
of dead air, eventually revived with rock song, in German? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4840, Sept 23 at 0616, WWCR in dead air yet again, S9+30,
while 3215 and much weaker // 5890 are still modulating BS (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17775-, Sept 23 at 1448, JBA carrier, fading to no carrier
from KVOH, usual situation here. I wonder how well it be doing to
further targets, but do not get around to rechecking until 1703:
absolutely no better here now when it might have built up, but E is
much more sporadic now than summer, with the 6m maps often showing
*no* Es to any MUF. Now I check various remotes not far off its
100-degree beam: Key West, JBA S6 which is more from its noise level.
Dominican Republic: nothing. Bonaire: VP S5 with AMSynch at -9.0 Hz
where I have often measured it here, and with ACI from BBC 17780 S7.
Pardinho, Brasil: JBA S5, must use LSB to avoid splash from 17780 BBC
in English, at S9+25, Ascension of course, this hour only --- those
lucky Brazilians! But why in the world on an almost empty band, are
these on adjacent channels?? Such are the drawbax of being stuck on a
single too-high frequency even thru solarmin (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Sept 23 from 0212:
531, 549, 576, 603, 612, 621, 684, 693, 711, 729, 747, 774, 801, 837,
855(2), 882(2), 891*, 909, 999, 1026, 1044, 1053, 1089*, 1107, 1125,
1134(2), 1179(2), 1215*, 1305(2), 1449, 1467; 1710(2, domestic)
*strongest; (2)= at least two carriers beating (Glenn Hauser, OK,

seconds. Next time I should count how many different IDs there be, as
I suspect some are in there which are not really on VOT SW now, maybe
webcast, such as Portuguese which is not among only 24 in the WRTH
2020. Also heard ``Burasi ---`` more than once, which is Turkish, but
must also apply to related dialects. If there are really 24, they
would average 4.6 seconds each. Next item at 2217, `Water Culture in

the host is Bob Biermann, who has quietly started a second show on
WRMI besides his low-key musings on `Your Weekend Show` but in keeping
with his rightward leanings; now it`s high-key politix, on skedgrid as
`Truth 2 Ponder` this hour only Mon-Fri. And on the programming

** U S A. 9955, Tue Sept 22 at 2218, Radio EmmaToc on WRMI with a
Radio Caroline clip, S9+25/30 with some jamming audible only at fades.
I suppose this qualify as a `media program` so will add to my
DX/SWL/Media Program schedule. WRMI programming claims it is a
*monthly half-hour*, but grid shows a full hour at 2200-2300; need to
check what`s really on at 2230. And other times not confirmed lately:
UT Thu 0000-0030 on 9955, and UT Mon 0100-0200 on 9455. I guess a
monthly hour or semihour repeated for 4 weeks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9980, Sept 22 at 2219, WWCR Brother Scare is quite weak,

supposedly 100 kW; 9980 #4 at 90 degrees, 9350 #2 at 85 degrees, so
they should be the same here, and 9980 often blasts in too, until
2400. Could the current MUF lie between 9350 and 9980? Unlikely. Must
be something else, like reduced power (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 22 at various chex 0056/0400 on TWR Bonaire SDR, no signal
again tonight from anonymous missionary station (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 9865, Sept 21 at 2341, Asian? music, S7-S6 with flutter up/down in
strength and also sidewise in frequency, i.e. Doppler from near trans-polar path. Could
AIR Vividh Bharati service be back? No, it`s CRI Chinese via Urumqi, land of Chicom
imperialist brainwashing of native Uyghurs, scheduled this hour, and Bengaluru not
until later if at all.

[non]. 7295, Sept 21 at 2355 YL song, then Chinese announcement over, S8/S9+10, and by
golly it`s // 9865. This too is CRI but via MALI just about to end its broadcast day
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 5009.923, Sept 22 at 0241, JBA carrier, no doubt RNM always off-minus,
now that WRMI has finished with 5010 at 0230* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4000-USB, Sept 22 at 0005, AAR5ED calling AAR5EZ, in a MARS net on a
frequency barely outside the ham band as long as there is no LSB like the hams. I
suppose a ham could really use 4000-LSB. More traffic and weak contacts follow, lingo
like ``wilco``. Googling on call AAR5EZ, I get no significant hits; on AAR5ED I get
nine, two of which lead to my own significant previous log of *2017y*:

``5394.5-USB, Feb 23 at 1351, MARS net with abbr`d calls 5AP, 5BR, 5PM/T, and finally
a full call AAR5ED but unheard (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 8764-USB, Sept 21 at 2344, Tropical Depression Beta marine weather info, but
you better know your geographic coördinates to make any sense of it. Almost the only
voice to be heard in this entire MHz. EiBi shows this is NMG, USCG New Orleans until
2350.

8502-USB, Sept 21 at 2349, marine weather for Bahamas, North Atlantic coördinates, but
exactly same synthom voice as on 8764, to which I compare it -- by golly, they are //
within a reverb or maybe less with different DSP on two receivers, also NMG? No this
one is NMN, USCG Chesapeake VA, also until 2350, now both stations re Atlantic. I
didn`t realize different USCG sites were linked for simulcasts, as each would have its
own prime coverage area. 8502 is slightly weaker, S9+10 vs 8764 at S9+20; and both
with some overmodulation distortion (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2052 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday September 22 at 0100 on
WRMI 7780, VG S9+20 at Virginia SDR; earlier check direct at 0050 was S8/+10.

Also confirmed UT Tue Sept 22 at 0330 on WRMI 5800, VG S9+20 at Bonaire; I listen to
whole thing in background and it is not interrupted at 0350 like happened last week.

** CHINA. CNR1 WOOB jammer search, Sept 21 at 1415; only found JBA
carriers on 12880, 11100 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 21 at 0330, via Brasil SDR, no signal tonight
from anonymous new missionary station, apparently still testing.
Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain, agrees: ``New Colombian 4940 seems to be
out of air today --- COLOMBIA?, 4940, new religious station, checked
at 0445-0506, 21-09, no audio and no carrier detected`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** INDONESIA. Re my ``UNIDENTIFIED. 3325, Sept 20 at 1228, a
dekaminute after sunrise here, considerable S5-S7 carrier above S5
noise level, but no modible. Perhaps Ron Howard will have noted which
of Bougainville and Indonesia were active today, or both (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)`` --- Ron Howard replies:

``Hi Glenn, Sept 20 - Only VOI on 3325 today; at 1145, weak signal in
Chinese; at 1322, with "Indonesian Wonders," during their English
hour, but not very readable. The // 4749.95, via Cimanggis/Jakarta,
was not heard today due to CNR1 and Bangladesh QRM`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11650, Sept 21 at 2125, travelog in Spanish with slight
accent, I guess Romanian, since amid an RRI transmission via
Tsiganeshti, and mentions Brasov; only S2-S3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2052 monitoring: confirmed UT
Monday September 21 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG direct but with portable
antenna only, some deep fades.

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 21 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, VG at Maine SDR,
also a few words apart via WRN webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 21 at 0230 on WRMIs 5800 to SSE and 7780 to
NE, both equally VG S8-S9 at Rochester SDR.

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 21 from 0300:26 on Area 51 (61?) via WBCQ
on new 6159.9 replacing 5130 as planned. I had started monitoring
6159.9 via Rochester remote at 0157 when JL was VG S8-S9; but by 0255
it had faded to JBA, at first thought off. So move to another SDR at
further skip distance, Alexandria VA, holding up to S9+25. By 0315 it
has faded there to S9 and noisy, so try the OKC SDR: only S6; then I
try the Edinburgh, Indiana one: better S8, AM Synch shows +36.8 Hz
carrier above tuned to 6159.90. At 0332 shortly after WOR has finished
and HRI has started, I tune in direct at S9/+10, and measure it at
6159.929. In any event 6 MHz band reception at this distance from
Maine is generally superior to 5 MHz, quite aside from any difference
in outpower there may well be. But 6 MHz also loses closer-in coverage
as the skip distance lengthens into the night.

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 21 at 0330 on WRMI 9955: no good at Bonaire
or Rochester SDRs, JBA in Maine with pulse jamming also audible;
direct to here at 0336, however, is F-G S7-S8 with jamming hardly
audible.

Also confirmed Monday Sept 21 at 1801 on IRRS 7290 Bulgaria; recorded
via UTwente for later checking, so no timings to the second. Usual
open carrier came alive circa 1759 with tail of `Off the Hook` urging
pledges to WBAI, the Pacifica New York station. That`s a good leftish
media show I hadn`t heard in years and had no idea it would be on IRRS
for less than a minute. It`s on the WBAI skedgrid
https://www.wbai.org/schedule/
Wednesday Sept 23 at 7-8 pm EDT = 23-24 UT; but not on the incomplete?
program roster or podcast list. But it is here:
https://www.wbai.org/program/?program=76
leading to here:
https://www.2600.com/offthehook/

1800, quick sign-on by IRRS falsely claiming this is USB reduced
carrier, and three FSN headlines.

As for WOR from 1801, usual annoying splash from plus/minus 10 kHz
stations, even on medium bandwidth AMSynch; and still no 7291 warble.
Spotchex of recording find it generally OK and not truncated at the
end 1830, except circa 1817 bad sticking and stuttering. Since there
was complete silence interspersed, I hope this was an internet problem
out of, rather than into, UTwente. I can never be certain that every
WOR airing go out unscathed unless I listen live to every minute of
every one of them, a bit much. Thus I appreciate knowing from anyone
who happen to hear a problem. Next:

** CHINA. 11100, Sept 20 at 1359, CNR1 jammer JBA, only one found in
very quick pre-1400* scan, no others WOOB in the 13s, 12s, 11s, 10s. I
continue to see list-logs of these elsewhere as if they were the
targeted Sound of Hope (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA SOUTH. Partial check for clandestine jumparound frequency
carriers of VOH/VOP, Sept 20 at 1358: 3480, 3910, 3930, 3985, 4450
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 650, Sept 20 at 1202, Radio 65, XETNT, Los Mochis, Sinaloa
full ID/sign-on? Touting 200-meter tower, presumably for FM, and how
it exploits Hertzian waves. LSR now 1218, so still audible at 1222,
hymn in Spanish with tuba oompahs, rather than newscast since it`s
Sunday. OtherMexes still audible on 640, 700, 710, and:

730, Sept 20 at 1221, Parral mentioned in some kind of promotion, so
XEHB, Chihuahua, probably already on 50 kW day power (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1360, Sept 20 at 0453-0501 UT, toward end of another WNJC NJ
DX test, I listen closely tuned to 1361-USB for any sign of tones,
sweeps or Morse IDs, but nada. By 0500 I switch back to 1360 in time
to hear a Sioux City ID from KSCJ, bong and CBS news --- the dominant
station here and one of only three with as much night power as 5 kW,
altho direxional, the others residing in CT and OR (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Sept 20 at 0601,
starting downward from 846 which must be the lone TP, from Kiritimati,
then upward, so here not in the order heard: 531, 549, 558(2), 576,
612*, 621(2), 639(2), 657, 666, 747, 774(2), 801, 837*, 846, 855(2),
891, 936, 1089, 1098(2), 1125(2), 1134(2), 1179, 1215(2), 1224,
1305(2), 1503, 1629***, 1710(2 - domestic). * = strongest; (2) at
least two carriers beating, at a wide variety of pitches or SAH rates,
but obvious when tuned 1 kHz below on USB. I`m surprised that no one
else seems to do this.

***the 1629 carrier is especially intriguing; usually I don`t even
bother to continue 9-kHz scans across the x-band for TAs, as WRTH
stops at 1611; but there are countless Europirates beyond its scope,
and presumably low-powered. For example, Roberto Pavanello, Italy
recently logged: ``1629 14/9 22.10 R. Toulouse - Dutch MX suff.``
In British DX Club Communication, Axel Röse in Neuss, Germany had a
couple of daytime logs in August on 1629 of ``Z[ender?] Monza, D``, I
guess meaning Dutch land, or Dutch language? rather than German.

A different story for Australia, tho it`s a bit too early yet; WRTH
page 88 shows eight legal LPs on 1629, maximum 400 watts, and these
sometimes do make it to the west coast DXers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific JBA MW carrier search, Sept 20 at
1152-1158 UT before LSR here of 1218 UT, on the E-W longwire so no
DFing, could be both E Asia and Down Under: 558, 594, 603, 612(2),
657, 693, 729, 738, 747(2), 756, 765, 774, 819, 873, 945, 972*, 1017,
1035, 1044, 1089, 1098(2), 1107, 1125, 1161, 1323. * = strongest,
likely Korea South. I really miss the top-MW 2850 signal now off from
Korea North. I do get carriers circa 1230 on 3250, 3320 (Glenn Hauser,

** NETHERLANDS [non]. 5960-, UT Sun Sept 20 at 0024, The Mighty KBC

heterodyne; but by the time it gets from GERMANY site to Maine SDR,
loud and clear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, Sept 20 at 0058, only pirate now with rock

** U S A. (7490 webcast), UT Sun Sept 20 roughly 0007-0022 I catch
part of `AAAWWW` on WBCQ repeat that I skipped yesterday at same time.
Freddy is asking questions, so we get a bit more info about WHRI.
Complains he can`t find many views of that facility online, but WBCQ
will fix that once in charge. AW has visited Cypress Creek once, says
the facility was well-built originally for the Christian Scientists
(as WSHB); has three Diesel generators and as a peaking plant can sell
excess power back to the utility. Antennas are curtains capable of
handling 500 kW. About having been working on the WBCQ #1 transmitter
for 6? weeks, says he hopes it will not burn up again --- oh, that
one. It`s still confusing what`s #2 and what`s #3, and what number the
ex-WRMI one is or will be; and is that the original Wilkinson from
Radio Clarin, or not? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (5085 webcast), UT Sun Sept 20 at 0022, WTWW-2 has already
started TONITO in such music. This week are recordings performed by
John Ferguson, January 1995, at Paramount, Indianapolis, immediately
before that organ was dismantled and trucked off to storage, unknown
where. 0048 outro, Bob Heil has finally come up with a new program
name since he moved to Belleville IL, `Theatre Organ Under The Arch`
--- so we have to retire `TONITO` for Theatre Organ Not In The Ozarx`,
henceforth TOUTA. A different very noisy organ recording plays on
until 0052 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Regarding the late Justice Ginsburg being treated as if she
were a Christian: among the wall-to-wall TV coverage, the crowd
spontaneously gathered outside the SCOTUS building broke into hymn,
`Amazing Grace`. This is one of the best-known Christian hymns, not
ecumenical, Judeo-Christian, from its very origins in a conversion.
https://www.learnreligions.com/amazing-grace-701274
However, the original lyrix do not mention J.C. at all, and thus could
be taken as more generic. But is it ever sung in synagogues? (Glenn

** VENEZUELA [non]. 600, VOA via R. Libertad, COLOMBIA: I have not
monitored since its première UT Sept 16, but Don Moore now reports
Sept 19:

``Colombia/Venezuela: There has been discussion in Cadena DX, the
Latin American Facebook group, on the VOA programs via Radio Libertad
600 kHz in Barranquilla, Colombia. Santiago San Gil in Barinas wrote
that normally Radio Libertad was received there with "acceptable
signals" but that since the programs began there has been significant
co-channel interference. Fernando Viloria in the coastal Venezuelan
state of Carabobo says he has been hearing an unlisted station calling
itself "Radio Verdad" and "La Emisora de la Alegría" on 600 kHz. The
station has not announced a location. Several DXers wrote of tuning
the Radio Libertad programs on the remote SDR in Bonaire. They report
it is putting in a good signal to Bonaire. (Don Moore)``

A great many Venezuelan radio stations have gone off the air, tnx to
government persecution and/or the economic situation. Was there ever a
600? Yes, first checking a WRTH 2014 at hand:

YVSW, 15 kW, R. Alto Llano, Sta Bárbara de Barinas. I wonder if SSG
remembers that one? In fact only one of two MW stations in that state
at that time.

YVSW also in WRTH 2005, when there was a second 600: YVQB, 10 kW,
Radio Sucre, Cumaná, Sucre, whose address was in a building called
Libertad.

In 2005 WRTH there were a number of stations around the country named
Radio Alegría, or Radio Fe y Alegría, probably a group or network. Do
not see any with Verdad in their names.

There may have been remnants of these outlets which could be pressed
into jamming disservice in short order; or any MW transmitter could
soon be retuned to 600. Connecting to a proper-wavelength antenna
could be quite another matter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7490, UT Sat Sept 19 at 0000, first monitoring webcast, WBCQ
has A&A conversing before the WTO theme plays for `AAAWWW`; almost
immediately interrupted by phone call from annoying Freddy, a good
excuse to tune out. Recheck at 0022, Freddy is just now being let go!
Whew. Allan then says he has been working on rebuilding #1
transmitter; the one donated by WRMI, just waiting for Tim Tron to
come up from Skowhegan and put the finishing tuneups on it. TT seems
putting off coming to Monticello, despite low COVID-19 rate there. I
think AW said or implied it`s the #3 transmitter which is currently on
7490, but also mentioned a #2. I wish we had a clear roster of all six
WBCQ SW transmitters, by number and which frequency they occupy. Has
the ex-WRMI unit hauled from FL last year, ever been on the air yet at
WBCQ? All except the 500 kW, i.e. ``classic WBCQ`` have to be rewired
for single-phase power. At 0030 A&A get into discussing conspiracy
theories, this week coming off a bit milder. Now I check the other
frequencies at Rochester remotes: 5130 is S7-S8; 3265 nothing; 6159.9
is S9; 7490 no signal! 9330 WLCR in Portuguese is S6-S7. ``Biden can`t
win since he`s partially demented``. O yeah? 0050 about an hour late,
word arrives that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died. On his best
behavior AW does not denounce her as a socialist/communist, but ``may
she be reunited with our lord and savior in heaven; RIP``. Wait a
minute, she`s Jewish! But so was AW, originally, so he should know the
difference. Before they finish at 0100, I check Alexandria VA SDR for
7490 and it`s OK there, S9+10 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6970-AM, Sept 19 at 0238, JBA carrier while I am still

jamming but would have to be from far west China possibly to
propagate. Seems there has also been a mixing product reported here,
Cuba? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

A new one on me; wow, what a name! I wonder if the French Canadians
find it any more daunting than the English?

``Kuujjuarapik - Village in Québec, Canada --- Kuujjuarapik is the

The community is only accessible by air, Kuujjuarapik Airport and, in

not in this callsign, no Y; just GW as in Great Whale. Each DX log a

kaput? It was reported Aug 13 at 1710 by DJM in the British DX Club.

Aoki/NDXC shows VOK in Japanese does not start 9650 until 2100. Use it
or lose it: 9650 is also one of the frequencies planned for WIPE, the
DRM/HF trading crypto pending in NJ, as per the drmnainfo blog:

``Frequencies are stated to be 9650, 11850, 13720 and 15450 kHz. Mode
is listed as DRM with emission designator 10K0G7W (which is consistent
with 10 kHz DRM).`` Depending on the timing, other WIPE frequencies
could conflict with Romania, Turkey, etc. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 17 past 0500, anonymous missionary station is
still going with M&W dialog, VG at Bonaire SDR. Also audible at 0622
direct S6-S7 with talk. Manuel Méndez. Lugo, Spain, points out:

``Hi, Glenn, despite the religious station on 4940 mentioning a lot of
times "Colombia", and it has programs like "Lecciones de la Historia
Colombiana", always announcing UT -4 time, instead of UT -5. Years ago
a Venezuelan station transmitted on 4940 kHz, Radio Amazonas, Puerto
Ayacucho. It is possible this religious station is using the Radio
Amazonas transmitter? The religious station is heard every day here in
Reinante, Lugo, North West of Spain with weak to very weak signal.
This weekend I will be in Friol and there I will have better
conditions to hear it. Best 73,s``

Puerto Ayacucho is right on the border with Colombia, near the NE
corner of that country, and not too far from one of the TDoA results,
Marahuaca national park, Amazonas, Venezuela (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4980, Sept 17 at 0623, not just a JBA carrier, but VP S8-S9

than exciter power, or a fluke propagational pipeline. Not // any
other WRMI frequency, mostly TOMBS. Still nothing whatsoever about
this on WRMI skedgrids --- at this hour half the 14 transmitters are
not scheduled: #2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 14 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

RAE special in Spanish, German and English is planned for Saturday
Sept 19 at 1500-2200, weather permitting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 395-MCW kHz, Sept 16 at 0624 UT, NDB dash and YL, which is

401-MCW kHz, Sept 16 at 0621 UT, ND beacon dash and YPO, which is 500
watts from Peawanuck, Ontario. Must be this but had copied as YWO,
missing a dit (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA? 4940, Sept 16 before 2400 UT, anonymous missionary
station is on with good signal into TWR Bonaire SDR, so since no one
else is doing it, I try TDoA direxion-finding for the first time. I am
not impressed, but maybe I am insufficiently expert in application. To
get to it, find TDoA under extensions on the player. Get the map
zoomed appropriately. Enter up to six SDRs to employ. Run it as each
tries GPS for one minute. Then algorithm gets to work.

First try comes up with -10.50, -134.50, i.e. somewhere in the S
Pacific; I think not. It seems I can`t use Bonaire itself since that
one of the three SDRs for TDoA is ``all busy`` including by me.
Another try with Vilhena western Brasil participating, comes up with
12.40, -64.60 which is Caribbean between Grenada and Curacao; Getting
warm??

Bogotá SDR is receiving a poor signal on 4940, so now I start from
there, and can bring up three closest TWRs, Bonaire, Boa Vista and DR
to do the TDoA. At 2350 these come up with 3.80, -65.60, which is
Marahuaca National Park, Amazonas, in remote S Central Venezuela! This
might be believable, not too far from Boa Vista, Brasil. But almost an
hour later at 0045 UT Sept 16, I retry with exactly same parameters
still entered, and this time it finds ``most likely`` 18.60, -63.80
which is between BVI and Anguilla.

I`m afraid Timed-Delay-of-Arrival is so unreliable,
self-contradictory, as to be useless. Anyhow, none of these tries came
up with anywhere inside Colombia. For giggles, I finally enter some
known frequencies as picked up in Bogotá: 5800 WRMI it places at 9.40,
-70.80, in Trujillo, Venezuela! 9955 WRMI at 16.20, -71.00, asea south
of DR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

lacking spurs. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,

** OKLAHOMA. RF 7, KOCO-TV ``5``, Sept 16 at 2205 UT, surprised to
find besides local news on 5-1, its only extra channel, 5-2 is running
an acting-president Drumpf, Liar-in-Chief press conference apparently
live, instead of MeTV which per onscreen guide is supposed to be in
The Flintstones; o, if only! KOCO is Hearst-owned. Have not noticed
them putting any other live or Breaking ``news`` on 5-2 except for an
extra hour-early local news at 9 pm CT, before 5-1 does so at 10 pm
(Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, Wed Sept 16 at 2215, VOT and NSS RTTY add up to
S9/+20, but already in music fill, no Letterbox; 2219 ID and more
music. Cannot notch out the RTTY CCI, but I can notch out the VOT
carrier itself. Something`s always awry at Ankara, i.e. in frequency
management; and programming failures (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 395-MCW kHz, Sept 16 at 1421 UT, ND beacon CA, which is 25

CCI, probably from ULS, 395, Ulysses in western KS (Glenn Hauser, OK,

and chopped off the air at 2129.5*, leaving us hanging. It`s VOA

Glenn Hauser logs: new VOA via Colombia 600 to Venezuela

Glenn Hauser

** VENEZUELA [non]. You may recall that VOA has been trying to get
into Venezuela via a MW transmitter in an adjacent country. Guyana was
approached some 6 months ago about using a 560 kHz relay, but VOA was
turned down. TWR Bonaire, which owes the USA something for licensing
KTWR Guam, would seem the obvious choice, but they must have higher
priorities for 800 kHz, at least during prime time.

On September 11, Don Moore informed me: ``COLOMBIA - Starting next
week VOA Spanish programs for Venezuela will be relayed on 600 kHz
(listed 50 kW) via Radio Libertad in Barranquilla, Colombia. The
broadcasts are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on September 15th, or 0000
UTC September 16th. The schedule I received shows the relays as being
three hours long Monday to Friday (local days) and two hours long on
Saturday and Sunday. (VOA via Don Moore)``

So I`m all set to monitor this début via remotes in the area. Before
0000, none of them are any good for 600 kHz except TWR Bonaire, where
I noticed there is also someone in Barinas, Venezuela tuned to 600:

600 kHz, Sept 15 at 2353 UT, sounds like a preacher in Spanish, with
QRM. But at 0000 Sept 16, Radio Rebelde is mostly dominant, no VOA
heard yet. There are basically two stations mixing. On the Key West
SDR I compare to 5025, distorted Rebelde, and find no match at first,
but then I can hear a match in the background of 600, and the
foreground talk is about Venezuela.

600 would not seem a very good choice, but at least there are no YVs
on it -- yet; there may not have been (m)any other options, and R.
Libertad is a good 50 kW. Nearest major competitor may be 40 kW in
Guayaquil, Ecuador. Barranquilla is 863 km = 536 statute miles from
Caracas, with Maracaibo about midway. At distancefromto.net if you
enter Caracas, Venezuela, looking closely at the map, that merely
reaches the west end of Caracas? province, near where the map is
labeled Carabobo. You have to enter ``Caracas, Caracas, Venezuela`` to
get to the capital city. The path is unfortunately all over-land since
Bqa is on the NW coast. But this will be relying on skywave.

How does that compare to the CubaRM? R. Rebelde on 600 is in the east,
San Germán, Holguín, at 1494 km = 928 statute miles = 807 nautical
miles from Caracas; and its bearing is NW from there. Venzies with
direxional radios may be able to null it and get mostly HJHJ/VOA. Is
it not convenient that this ``opposition`` service is already named
Radio Libertad, but that`s coincidental as it goes way back deriving
from the Bqa newspaper La Libertad:
https://cadenaradiallalibertad.com.co/sitio/

Guess what, I don`t see anything about hooking up with VOA on its
website, nor is there any specific program schedule to be seen.

Resuming what I am axually able to hear on 600: at 0016, Rebelde is
dominant // 5025 as VOA fades; 0022 RR music // 5025 via KW. 0027
``VOA Noticias`` definitely heard, 0028 again concerning Venezuela;
0031 VOA ID, ``una producción de La Voz de America``.

At 0049 I`ve brought up the ``listen live`` link here, first of seven
stations
https://cadenaradiallalibertad.com.co/sitio/radios/
and there is the VOA relay loud & clear, with program ID ``Buenos
Dias, America`` --- so it`s anything but live! Rather played back from
the morning some 12 hours ago. 0101 concluding that program, with ID
again, and now also for ``600 AM, en Barranquilla, emsisora afiliada
con sistema de noticias de la VOA``; Then own callsign ID as ``HJHJ,
50 mil vatios...`; at 0114 another joint ID. Perhaps they have now
switched to the less stale tarde VOA program, `El Mundo al Día`, also
available as a 32-minute podcast, but archive shows M-F only, as
nothing ever happens on weekends.

VOA website does not say anything about this either that I can find,
but you can get their program audios --- are there any others left in
Spanish?

https://www.voanoticias.com/radio-buenos-dias-america
https://www.voanoticias.com/radio-mundo-al-dia
``Radio en vivo`` is NOT live, but the latest 32-minute episode:

https://www.voanoticias.com/episode/el-mundo-al-dia-noticiero-voz-de-america-radio-237606

And o yes, specifically for/about Venezuela, basically a TV show, but
audio-only also available and surely filling some of the 600 hours, in
fact probably what initiated this service at 0000:

** CANADA. 278-MCW kHz, 0625 UT Sept 15, JBA, dash and ND beacon NM,
500 watts from Matagami, Québec; new for me? Not quite, last logged:

``278 kHz, Dec 14 [2018] at 0717, beacon NM and dash: 500 watts from
Matagami, Quebec. Matagami is in a remote off-road area near 78 W/50
N, NNE of Rouyn-Noranda.``

Value-added info to this log per Wikipedia: ``Toponymy --- In Cree,
"matagami" means "meeting of waters", in reference to the large rivers
that join.`` And the town exists because of a zinc+ mine.

Interesting that its neighbor at DXinfocentre.com is at almost the
same latitude in SK within 16 seconds; no sign of that now:

278 N1 CAN SK Assiniboia 200 49 43 42 -105 56 57

Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA. 4940-, Sept 15 at 0134 via TWR Bonaire KiwiSDR, anonymous
missionary station with M&W talk in Spanish only, reads S4-S5 in USB
reception, but S8-S9 in SynchAM, carrier offset varying from -2.8 to
-6.1 Hz. 0200 it`s peaking S9+15 at -4.3 to -4.6 Hz, protracted sermon
about Apocalipsis = Revelation. 0311 tropical music. 0356 yelling
preacher in echoey venue, with music. Outro program with club para
niños, addresses: Apartado 260, San José, 2120, Costa Rica, or
Historia Preferida, Casilla 14-23, Cochabamba, Bolivia; 0359 NO ID,
into songs; 0455 still/again music with automated? timecheck as 12:54,
0458 preacher, still past 0527. That`s UT-4 while Colombia is UT-5.
Others also report such timechex; this implies 4940 is for Venezuela
if not from inside that country. Of course they had been heard playing
part of the Colombian national anthem at *2300; but that could be
misdirexion. I posted to the WOR iog:

``OK, since the perpetrators are mum about what and where this station
really is, it`s about time to get on it with the TDOA direxion-finding
technique, triangulation or multiangulation using remote receivers.
First place to rule in or out is Puerto LLeras, which is in central
Colombia, SE of Bogotá, where 6010 & 5910 were located. Let us know
your results first!`` --- I myself have never tried this
Timed-Delay-Of-Arrival technique, and am not familiar with the
procedure, but others in our group have in other cases; yet no
replies, so far (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2051 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday

recheck 0350 just in time to hear me cut off at 0350:40 for two IDs in
Spanish by Rudy and some Mexican, then fill music starting with a
version of ``Chariots of Fire``. I quickly asked WRMI to look into
this anomaly and prevent it from happening again. Next:

Central, in the clear as RTTY is off! Ivo Ivanov also reports it
tonight at 0800 & 0900 via Brasilia SDR as ``reactivated``. Was it
really ever unactivated? Normally totally blocked here by RTTY from
NSS. EiBi shows both as 24 hours. Checked 11815v for RBC but nothing
there, maybe off and not only not propagable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIA. 4940-, Sept 14 at 0346, new anonymous missionary station
is VP S5-S6 even at Bonaire which in AMSynch now shows carrier -5.4
Hz. Last check direct here at 0623 finds S8-S9 of talk and music, but
not enough vs noise level. In the WOR iog, Lúcio Otávio Bobrowiec in
Embu, SP, Brasil was hearing it even later, 0600-0808 mostly with
Spanish sermons being translated to English, and never any IDs even at
hourtops. Earlier log from me was English to Spanish --- sure about
that? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6145, UT Mon Sept 14 at 0616, RHC English with Arnie wrapping
up `DXers Unlimited` until 0618.5, then `Ed Newman` with Mailbag Show.
Ed make it sound so normal to be living in a Commie dictatorship! 6145
is S8-S9 with good modulation, while 6100 is S9+20 but undermodulated,
suptorted. 5040 and 6000 are off already. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 8502-USB, Sept 14 at 0315, NMG USCG New Orleans. Mark Sills,
Dallas, reminds us of marine weather on 8502 and 4316 - the
unflappable robot despite hurricane bearing down. Before 0400 I`m
getting 8502-USB fairly via Bonaire SDR I happen to have up, but there
are probably better ways to hear them; 4316-USB not heard. Don`t
expect any breaking news of hurricane hits. EiBi shows nominal

** U S A [and non]. World of Radio 2051 monitoring: missed checking UT
Mon Sept 14 at 0030 on WRMI 7730; anyone hear it?

Confirmed UT Mon Sept 14 at 0130 on WRMI 7780, S8-S9 at UTwente. Also
WRN webcast.

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 14 at 0230, VG on WRMI 7780 via UTwente;
and also VG on 5800 via some closer SDR, Rochester?

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 14 starting late on Area 51 webcast, from
0308.8, after some Mantovani music and closing by a monthly DJ whose
name I did not catch; while WBCQ 5130 achieves only a JBA carrier into
Rochester, likely less here; and no signal on 6159.9. Meanwhile Larry
will explained:

``Hi Glenn, American Debauchery with Duane Bruce ran a little late
tonight, so WOR will be on about 7 or 8 minutes late on 5130. Hope you
like the good music from Frederick Moe on "Herman's Radio and Record
Room," nominally 0230 UTC, but delayed tonight because of Debauchery's
over-run. Cheers, Lw``

``Next week, 6159.9 still planned, right? Glenn``

``Yes, we are planning to complete the switchover to 6159.9 on
September 19. There are two shows on 5130 that aren't produced here
that will be displaced - one is probably going to move to an open time
slot on 7490, the other's fate is not determined yet. I hope to have
an updated schedule completed by mid-week and I'll post a note to the
WOR list when it's done. Also, 5130 is poor to fair here and very
noisy at this time. It's definitely on the air but propagation isn't
happy tonight. Lw``

Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 14 at 0330 on WRMI 9955, S6-S8 at Pardinho
SDR, Brasil.

Also confirmed Mon Sept 14 from 1800:54 on IRRS, 7290 BULGARIA, S9+30
via UTwente, and apparently intact until 1829:54 as my final words are
not! cut off but Feature Story News opening is upcut. Earlier
monitoring of 7290: 1753 JBA carrier from algo; *1757:10 cut-on strong
open carrier; 1758:49 JIP rock music; 1759:53 IRRS ID, offering
numbered QSL for reports to P O Box 10-980, N-20110 Milano, Italy;
contrary to web info from IRRS that they are no longer accepting
postal mail! 1800:27 FSN headlines, always only 3 quickies before WOR
start. Again this week no 7291 warble, hope gone for good, but always
annoying inevitable splash from 7280 Vietnam and 7290 Iran; the latter

at 2148-2201 UT on caradio:

1130, at 2148 no signal or at least no modulation from KLEY Wellington

of them presumably KWKH Shreveport remnant. [1130 checked next day
Sept 14 at 1905 UT, groundwave scarcely a semihour after local mean
noon, on bigrigs at HQ, no S9 open carrier any more, but some JBA
carrier too weak to DF, possibly KLEY on exciter or 1-watt night
power]

620, at 2150 and still 2201, dead air from Spanish gospel huxter KTNO
Plano (Metroplex) TX.

1350, at 2153, JBA mix of talk and CW music making fast SAH; normally
an open daytime channel in Enid; both Okies a little too far for
groundwave, 180-watt KPNS Duncan and 1000-watt KTLQ Tahlequah; also
possible 500-watt KMAN Manhattan KS. KTLQ in Cherokee Country is the
C&W one.

970, at 2154, 2500-watt KCFO Tulsa gospel huxter surprisingly strong
here; inside Enid blocked by local 960 KGWA. KCFO has a minor lobe to
its NW, so now we are closer into it.

1370, at 2155, still no trace of alleged KGNO Dodge City KS.

1460, at 2155, KZUE El Reno OK Mexmx has a fast SAH from another
station. It`s early, 2 hours and 46 minutes before LSS at 0041 but
skywave seems to be starting up on topend. Closests are KKOY Chanute
KS, and KCLE Burleson TX.

1510, at 2156, ESPN Radio, ads, 2158-2159 fade out/in as skywave, back
in time for KCTE Kansas City ID, i.e. Independence MO. With 132/minute
SAH from algo = 2.2 Hz. Definitely skywave as KC/MO does not make it
here on groundwave above 1.1 MHz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Spanish citing Isaiah 11, 12. 0120 prayer and cut to produced promo
