It is truly looking a little better every month now that more than half of America is vaccinated! We here at Ragtops & Roadsters are getting a little more optimistic every day, hoping that we can soon get back to enjoying our passion this year! It was very challenging to put this calendar together, as this year, many events just cancelled or were moved to the fall. Please double check the website to confirm posted events!

Concours shows, overseas events, local meetings, regional events, national marque shows, rallies, cars and coffee events, vintage races, hill climbs, fall tours, and even
Sunday drives, are also listed. We make our best attempt to provide a thorough and accurate listing of events. Remember to double check before you roll...

Motorcars Delivered... Ready for Spring / Summer Driving!
by: Dave Hutchison
This 1951 MGTD was owned by the father of the current owner. The car came through our shop last year for a significant amount of repair work. She toyed with the idea of selling but then brought it back in again to "carry on' as they say. We replaced the steering rack and rebuilt the front suspension. She plans to drive the car a mile to Cars & Motorcycles of England!
This 1966 Jaguar Series 1 E-Type was purchased off the Bring a Trailer
website last fall. It was shipped to our shop for a full evaluation. We determined that it is a solid car that had some differed maintenance. We replaced the clutch, re-coated the exhaust manifolds, rebuilt the brakes, replaced the shocks, repaired the rear subframe to make this a great driver!
This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 came into the shop to further investigate why the engine has a "run-on condition" we found that someone drilled the hole for the throttle shaft too deep thus causing a lean running condition. We acquired another carb body, rebuilt it properly, and the run-on condition is gone! The owners are consider attending CMoE!
This 1973 Jaguar V12 was shipped in from Salt Lake City as it was bought on pictures and a PPI. After a safety inspection, it turned out to be a solid car that needed brake and exhaust work and more to make it a nice driver. The new owner is pleased and he reported that he had "a very good first impression driving in New Hope.
1970 Willow Green Series II E-Type Coupe was purchased from an estate in New Jersey after sitting for several years. It is a very rust free, low mileage example that we believe that the paint can come back to life!. We replaced the exhaust manifolds, rebuilt the carbs. and the fuel system. The owner will rebuild the cooling system and brakes, clean it up and have fun!
2021 MG International Atlantic City, NJJune 14th - June 17th
|In the registration room, we set next to Jerry Labant of Liverpool Motorworks selling his rare and unusual British Automobile and original tool kits. Tom Zofcheck from British Miles was there too, selling hard to find original trim and spares for all MGs.|
Our friend, Doug Petrozzini and I built and raced this MG kit car and we came in at 12 min 38 seconds! We think we won but apparently we were robbed as there must of been something wrong with their tabulations! Longtime MG Enthusiast and founder of the Delaware Valley Chapter MG T Register
passed in 2020 and his 1951 TD 8888 was there as a tribute to Hank! A true gentleman and a life well lived!
Charlene was there with me all week as we set up a vendor booth at registration and at the show on Saturday. Many MGA owners stopped by to check out our cut-down competition windscreen and talk about rebuilding their full windscreens.
Doug's MGA had a good spot as the show was held at a 4H Club in Egg Harbor, about a 30 minute drive, but well worth it. A very nice venue with shade brought in over 200 MGs from all over the US. Where else do you see 4 1979-1980 MG LEs?
There was a very good showing of T- Series cars and many stopped by to see the 1939 MG VA Tickford Drophead Coupe that we had at our display. It was a good week, Harrah's did a great job of hosting and the food was good! We said goodbye to Terry McClain and his lovely wife in their V8 powered MG as they headed to Charlotte, NC and some hooked up their trailers and headed up the road!
Eurocar 2021 Cazenovia, NYJune 20th
On Fathers Day right after the MG 2021 show, we took off for Cazenovia, just east of Syracuse NY to attend an "All Euro" show called EUROCAR 2021 that I had heard was very interesting. We set up in the morning and were told that about 140 cars were pre-registered. As the morning progressed about another 140 cars came in from all over New York State and Europe!
There was a rather strong presence from Volkswagen and Porsche. I liked the blue and white VW Bus as my Dad had impulsively bought one back in the 60s. You could see that these owners put a lot into their cars!
Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Morgan, Hillman, Triumph, Fiat, Lotus, DeTomaso, Austin Healey, Jaguar, Mazda and Nissan were all there enjoying the beautiful day!
Shortly after we arrived the chief judge of the Concours asked if we would bring the Italia over to the Concours section of the show. I politely declined as we would prefer to have it by our exhibit to showcase our shop's talents. He understood then came back and asked if they could judge the car. Sure. A team of five judges went over the car and then the chief judge returned later and said we won an award! Please drive over to the hill. and get in line. It turned out we were last in line and won Best of Show! What a day, friendly people, nice cars, the Italia won without trying!

Built in November 2005, the odometer shows only 6000 miles and this car is one of 82 Morgan Roadsters that were imported into the US that year. The 3.0 liter V6 Duratec engine runs very strong, the gearbox operation is smooth and brakes are very good. The aluminum body is finished in Connaught Green, a standard factory colour, fitted with Yarwood biscuit leather upholstery. Included is a fawn mohair hood, tonneau and suede side curtains. Black carpets are piped with biscuit leather, finished with black wing beading. Air bags, air conditioning, LeMans shift knob, door pockets and luggage carrier and more. including the original chassis certificate, a banner celebrating the 100th anniversary of Morgan, custom dust cover and more.
