Lord Nuffield

Club members,
While researching iron lungs for an article about nursing I learned that Lord Nuffield, aka William Morris (of Morris’ Garage, MG) constructed iron lungs at the Cowley factory and donated them to hospitals to help save polio patients’ lives. Until today I didn’t know that about him.

P.S. That’s where the name for the Club’s newsletter came from - Lord Nuffield. If you pronounce Nuffield incorrectly it rhymes with news.
