Fall Rallye - important information

Lambert Liebel

Hi All,

Here is the information again.

Date: Saturday, October 31st, 9:00am – 9:30am

Time: 9:30am drivers/navigator meeting,

1st car off at 10:00am

Starting point: Wawa, 119 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, PA 18915 (Rt.309)

1st prize….win The “Lucas Cup”!

2nd, 3rd, D.L.B.F, and club award also
We will end in the lower-parking lot at "The Metropolitan" for food and beverages. Please remember to bring a folding chair and whatever else you use. Order as you arrive, since arrivals will be sporadic
There will also be a costume contest.

Also here are the rules from the Triumph club-

to win 1st (which is the Lucas Cup), 2nd, and 3rd, you had to be in a MG.

Any classic car or other can compete in the drive, but their score would not count.

I like the rule that to place, you had to be in an MG... Triumph has already conceded?!?! ("to win 1st (which is the Lucas Cup), 2nd, and 3rd, you had to be in a MG.")

So what does the rallye entail? Is there a route posted somewhere? How long is it? I can't find any info on it. Or is it a surprise?

Ed Emery

Ed, the rally master will share the details of the rally at the drivers meeting but normally it is a scavenger hunt rally. The rally master will have a route sheet for each team with directions to follow along with a list of questions that need answered.  Correct answers are tallied up and the team with the most correct is the winner.  Sometimes there is a time factor to the rally.  There is a staggered start with a car going every few minutes.

The route is usually drive along a lot of sports car friendly back roads and we end up at a spot for lunch while the results are tallied.

If you have not done one before they are a lot of fun and the weather Sat is looking good.

I seem to recall that we are doing this 'in costume', given the day is Halloween.  Is anyone among the MG group coming in costume? (Jan and I are prepared...)
