Re: Anyone need a B motor?

Yep there was a gentleman who contacted the club who was looking for an engine. I am in the process of catching up and cleaning up my email mailbox and found his information. I forwarded the information to him.

Thanks Kevin for posting this - I appreciate it.

Stay safe and Safety Fast,

2021 PMGC Renewals

Kristi Liebel

Happy almost end of 2020,

It is that time of year again - that’s right it’s time to renew your PMGC membership for 2021. Attached you will find the 2021 PMGC Renewal form - please be sure to fill out the form even if there are no changes. Remember your membership runs from January to December no matter when you originally joined. That said if you just joined (October 2020 to present) then you can disregard this email because when you joined you paid for the rest of 2020 and all of 2021. If you have decided that now is not the right time for you to renew I totally understand, I just ask that you send me an email and let me know.

I would love to have all renewals in by the end of January this year. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me (please reply to me only (kliebel@phillymgclub.com) so we don’t fill up everyone’s mailboxes).

I look forward to a wonderful PMGC year!

Stay safe, Safety Fast and have a Joyous Holiday Season,

Kristi

Anyone need a B motor?

Kevin McLemore

Just saw this pop up on FB and it’s local (Huntington Valley, PA):

https://www.facebook.com/groups/britishpartsandneeds/permalink/3622203857817931/?sale_post_id=3622203857817931

“1973 mgb 1800 motor, with less than 2 hours run time on refreshed head, new payen  head gasket, ran awesome  when pulled.  Will come with a set of hif carbs w manifold ( will require rebuild), points distributor with new points. It is ready to go once carbs are redone.  I  also have a weber downdraft setup available for this motor, practically brand new as well. Just trying to recoup the  money from the head work, as I  no longer have the car.”

Spridget Engine in Philadelphia

Allen Hanford

I just put this early 1275 engine up on eBay. I have it listed for $500 but I'd take $350 to be rid of it.

Re: Haynes Manuals are done...

Allen Hanford

This is a real shame. I personally have a manual for my car on my phone but I frequently go to the book because I find it easier to read. Hopefully another company will take over this niche market.

Haynes Manuals are done...

Kevin McLemore

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1367998/haynes-car-manuals-stopped-printing-no-more-editions
”THE publisher of the famous Haynes car manuals says it will no longer produce new editions. More than 200 million of the self-help books were sold before the publisher was bought out earlier this year by a French company. The new owners say they do not see a future in printing new versions of the much-loved guides and have made eight editorial staff redundant. Haynes Manuals were launched by the late John Haynes in 1965 in Yeovil, Somerset. They specialised in providing car owners with advice on maintenance and repairs they could carry out on their driveways. .... Mr Haynes died last year and the company was bought by French rival Infopro Digital for £114.5million in April.”

Roger Searle

Happy Turkey Day All,

Has anyone converted a late model MGB to the earlier models' Smiths gauges.  In particular, do Smiths fit the dash cutouts?

Thanks,

Roger
