Come on guys. All you that are going to St Paul are SUPPOSED to be talking
on here. I can't go so I want to go vicariously, or virtually or what ever.

Who's going and who ain't??

MG 2001 preparation

James Schulte <schultejim@...>

Thanks to Ray B., Larry M., and Mark J., the car is close to
completion. Still have some odds and ends to clean up, but looks a lot
closer to St. Paul then Friday did. I bought a tow bar at Walmart for
99.00 and lights with magnets(to go on the luggage rack) for 50.00. I
just need a safety chain. Sam is going to try and make a copy of Regs
bracket for Marks car. But, Mark still thinks he is going to drive his
MG out. Has anyone researched the Toledo overnight stay? I've look at
some but not called yet. To much else going on. I will try tomorrow.
I will start setting aside stuff to take. The club banner will be one
thing, some jack stands and a jack plus tool box, umbrella, snow shoes,
golf clubs, bathing suit, birthday suit etc. Anyone out there not able
to drive their car, want to go as a passenger. Although, according to
the Insurance Institute tests my new 2001 F 150 is not safe in off
center hits to the front. Dare you chance riding with a lunatic :-).
T - 6.5 days til we leave. Are you excited!!!

We are all back safe and tired from the long drive. Mark Johnson drove his
MGB LE the entire 2400 miles round trip. Reg Kennedy, Bill Hixson and Myself
tow bared our cars and Ray Blaisse drove his Honda MG cause of towing problems
with his car. Greg Simms flew in Wednesday and stayed till Friday morning.
Fun was had by all. Even Reg despite having a birthday :-)

Sports Car Club of America
Philadelphia Region RoadRally Series

"Which Way?" Map Rally

Saturday, July 28, 2001

Start at King of Prussia Plaza in King of Prussia, PA

Rallymaster: Allen Hefner

Cost:  $15.00 per car for the rally, $6.00 per person (optional) for
admission to the Mid Atlantic Air Museum.

Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. in King of Prussia Plaza lot 46B, on Mall
Blvd, between Sears and the IMAX theater - Registration CLOSES at 10:00 a.m.
First car off at 10:30 a.m. - Awards at the finish.

A Shortest-Distance Map Rally through Montgomery and Berks Counties, PA.
This RoadRally is designed to be fun for first-time rallyists.  There is a
short odometer check leg at the beginning, then you use the supplied maps to
find the shortest route to several locations where you must answer questions,
and then find your way to the finish.  The finish is at the Mid Atlantic Air
Museum in Reading, PA.  There will be time for you to visit the museum while
we score the rally.

Cars must be street legal and have current state inspection.  We STRONGLY
suggest that the navigator be able to read a map!

Two classes:
Novice - Fewer than 6 rallies, driver and navigator combined.

Experienced - 6 or more rallies, driver and navigator combined.

Car numbers will be consecutive, and will be assigned at registration.  You
will start at 10:30 a.m. plus your car number in minutes.  Maps will be given
out 20 minutes before you start.

Pre-register by mailing your payment with the form below by July 23rd.
General Instructions will be distributed at registration.  Please try to
pre-register to help us plan accordingly, but you can register on rally day.
Thanx!

Any questions call, Allen Hefner, 215-884-1163, or e-mail: ajhsys@....

Directions: King of Prussia Plaza is on Route 202 in King of Prussia, PA.
Follow Mall Blvd. behind the mall to the traffic light at the PA Turnpike
entrance.  Lot 46B is close by, marked on the light poles.

The rally is part 2 of Philly Region's Motorsports Weekend 2001.  Join us on
Friday evening, 7 to 9, at the Roosevelt Mall, Cottman Ave. in NE Philly, for
a FREE Cruise Night car show.  On Sunday, come out and autocross (Solo II) at
the Boeing Helicopter plant at Exit #8 of I-95 in Ridley Park, PA.
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.  More info and directions at www.autox4u.com.

Dash Plaques to all!  And if you attend all three events, the dash plaque
(magnet) fits together.  (Woo-hoo!)
