Event Description:
Of course this is a driving event, but it's more for the kids than the adults. You can expect to drive r-e-a-l s-l-o-w and have hundreds of people ogling over your car and taking pictures.

If it is like past years, you can expect the local Corvette club, motorcycle club, radio stations, school bands, boy scouts, and on and on to participate. Lotus Owners should be a part of this mix!

I am a teacher in Pennsauken's Public Schools and thought that this would be a fun way to help give back to the community. Last year three Loti attended the event and had a GREAT TIME! Let's try for more this year!

The parade route is lined with kids in Santa hats and their parents. Most of the kids are young enough to enjoy egging on the drivers to toss candy at them, which they quickly fight over, then stuff in their bags. So bring lots of small candy treats.

The parade gets bigger each year, and somehow, no matter how much candy participants buy, they always manage to run out before they reach the end. It is embarrassing as that is where kids and parents are standing shoulder to shoulder holding out bags. By the way, small candy bars make great missiles to aim at those bags. However, one must use caution as the younger kids are not as agile as the older ones and sometimes get hit on the head!

So come on down and join us in the fun! Dress your car up with holiday decorations (or not) and maybe win recognition as the best dressed car. After the ride, we'll all head over a local restaurant for some good food and drinks.

More detailed information as to starting slot and exact starting time will follow as soon as we get it, but if you can attend, please post here so we can get a car count. The parade begins at 1:00 PM and ends at 2:30. We'll most likely meet as a group around 12 in the rear parking lot of Pennsauken High School and head over as a caravan.

After many years the guy who was running the case moved to Florida so I have taken up the mantle of keeping the fun going. Some of you have had cases in the past. They are a lot of fun and make great Christmas gifts for your beer drinking relatives or ever for yourself..
I am extending the offer to everyone in the club who wants a case. Just let me know how many you want.The price is $40 per case and if we can get the price down you might even get a small refund. We will be doing the sort in Dec 10th so I will have the cases after that. If you want to help sort feel free to come over to my house and we always have a tasting of something during the sort.

’76 MG Midget for sale - original survivior!

Hi Folks,

I'm helping a old friend sell his '76 MG Midget.  He's been a MG enthusiast since back when MG TD's were new, and still drives his black '53 TD occasionally.  At the active age of 82 however, he's having some problems getting in and out of the Midget – especially with the top up - and has decided it's time to let it go to a new owner.   He is the second owner of the car, having acquired it from the original owner – a neighbor – several years back.  He also has a nice '53 MG TD, but he has reluctantly decided that two MG Midgets is one too many at his age.  

The car has always been garaged and never driven in bad weather.  It has 64900 original miles on it and runs and drives excellent.  The car is all original, with the exception of mechanical repairs which have included a new clutch, master & slave cylinders, new brake cylinders, shoes and brake hoses, a new fan clutch, and replacement stainless steel exhaust.  It's never been buggered up or modified in any way.  

The car has never been in an accident, has no rust, and the original Orange paint and black stripes are still bright and shiny.  It has the original tonneau cover & top, both in excellent condition with some yellowing of the rear window.  The interior is also very good and original with one very small (one inch) tear in the driver seat bottom.  Minor current issues are the ignition key does not come out of the lock and there are the occasional endearing intermittent Lucas problems with the lights.

The current owner is not too internet savvy, so he has asked me to help him sell the car.  I'm not being paid for it – just a favor to him.  It is a all-original, fun to drive survivor worthy of some note.  He would like to get $5750 for the car but we'll entertain reasonable offers.  The car is on the road and is available to see and drive if you're interested.  Located in Levittown PA.  Call me or email me if interested.  I will be posting on eBay in the next few days, but thought I'd send it out to the Phila MG folks first to see if there was any interest.

The Walk to Defeat ALS is this Saturday!!

Fellow Philly MG'ers,

Thanks to all whom have already sponsored me. I am very thankful to have your
support in this. I am excited to participate in this years Walk.

In November, I will be participating in The ALS Association's Greater
Philadelphia Walk to Defeat ALS.. I have recently accepted the challenge to
raise funds to help the Association accelerate the discovery of the cause and
cure of Lou Gehrig's Disease, and to provide programs and services that are so
desperately needed by ALS patients and their families.

Imagine: as you are busy with your career, your family, and your community
responsibilities, you become unable to speak well. You fall inexplicably. You
have trouble picking up papers or using a pen. You tire very easily. You seek
medical counsel, but are given no satisfactory answers. If you can imagine
this, then you start to understand the beginnings of ALS, or Lou Gehrig's
Disease.

Unfortunately, the beginning is the best part of the struggle with ALS. It
gets much worse. Relatively quickly - usually within two years - the patient
becomes unable to speak, to move, to swallow. Finally, the patient becomes
unable to breathe. Most patients die within five years. Yet, through it all,
for the vast majority of patients, their minds remain unaffected. Essentially
the ALS patient's mind is trapped inside a helpless body.

My hope is to be one of the top fundraising participants and bring many
friends and family with us on Walk Day! To do this, I need your support
therefore I am asking you to support my Walk team by making a gift or by
walking with me.

This is a meet and greet. All Clubs welcome. Coffee and donuts will be provided. I have over 25 years of experience with Triumph, MG and Austin Healeys. I am dedicated to the preservation of all British makes and am very passionate about keeping them safe to drive and on the road. If you're buying an MG or Triumph I can provide free advice and a review of the car, showing you all possible needed repairs. I can provide tune-ups, body repair, suspension repair/upgrades, engine swaps (V6 & V8), all forms of engine modifications, including superchargers and EFI systems. I do full restorations or rolling restorations. I will be selling restored cars as I get them done. I am starting restorations on the following: 1967 MGB/GT, 1979 MGB LE and 1977 TR Spitfire.

Well Kristi and lambert gave up the Lucas Cup today. Unfortunately it went to the Triumphs. Stan and wife (sorry I missed the name).

It was a cool rallye tho. They gave us a map of Chester Co area and on it were marked 25 or so spots. Each spot was assigned a point value from 5 to 25. Each team had to plan a route to get to each spot and take a picture of it. The get back to the finish in 2 hours or less. Points off for over time. Theresa and I hit the 2 hour mark exactly to the minute, in the MINI :-(
The scoring was calculated by points per mile. So we drove 42 miles and got 285 points for a score of 6.12. The winners had a score of 7. something. The DVT won first and second, Kristi and Lambert won third.

It was a dark and dreary day, oh wait I should have started with that. :-)

Also attending were George Burton and Lester Weintraub and his wife, Donna.

Was a fun rallye and I think I'll steal the idea.
