Date

Monthly MG Breakfast - Feb 21 at 9:00 am, Ft. Wash State Park

Kevin McLemore

OK, as promised in tonight's Phila MG Club Zoom meeting, here's a suggestion to kick off the first of our monthly MG breakfasts...

Details:
Date:    SUNDAY, FEB. 21
Rain Date: RAIN, SNOW OR SHINE (the pavilion will keep us out of the weather)
Time:    9:00 am - 10:00 am (-ish)
Location:    FORT WASHINGTON STATE PARK - Militia Hill Pavilion  (near Flourtown, PA)
Google Maps Link:    https://goo.gl/maps/RKXFEUhbXBLwtZT27

Obviously it's not "MG weather" yet for most of us, so I don't expect folks to bring their LBC, and you'll have to provide your own food and non-alcoholic refreshments if you'd like to eat outside. The park's pavilion is large and can accommodate at least 20 folks with proper social distancing, but of course if you're not eating you should plan to wear a mask anyway as a courtesy. There are also two charcoal (only) grilling stations, if you want to be so ambitious as to make your own breakfast onsite (arrive early to get the fire going if you do), but I'd expect most will just bring a WaWa bagel with coffee or something similar. There are at least 10 picnic tables in the pavilion, but you may wish to bring comfortable folding chairs. Dress is "weather appropriate" - you'll be outside. There is a large playground next to the pavilion if you have kids or grand-kids that want to come along. There are also nearby restrooms, but I can't guarantee they will be open.

Later in the year when the weather gets warmer we can plan to gather in Ambler again as we did last year, or at other restaurants that can provide a COVID-rules appropriate dining area (assuming rules are still in effect at the time, of course). Suggestions welcome!

I hope to see you on the 21st!
Cheers,
Kevin McLemore

PS: What the pavilion looks like, taken last Sunday at the Triumph Club's monthly breakfast - it's about twice as long as this.
(Although please don't expect Bernie for our first event.)

May be an image of one or more people and outdoors

Done this 2 times now.(where the buyer is out of the area).......I always leave it up the buyer to arrange shipment. One time a person was in Dallas, TX, the other Berlin, Germany.

The purchase is via PayPal but in multiple transactions as PayPal limits this to 10K or less (both times, the cars sold for $19,500, so two payments to cover the cost.
Both time the seller did not even come and view the car.  When sold I shipped all the trophies with the cars, after they belong to the car not me.

I got back all the money I invested in those sales but the current be has $40K sunk into it, so I will be holding on for a while....

Hi All,

I have a possible buyer for my 1971 MGB GT who lives in Arizona.  If he buys it, I'm not sure he will come to PA to pick it up - just ship it there.  Does anyone have experience or recommendations doing a remote sales transaction?  My current plan is to have the payment wired to my account and afterward send the signed title with the car.

Roger, when I bought my race car, it was in Washington state, after I wired the money, the dealer overnighted the title. Then I arranged shipping. Do not send title with car. Ensure that you can prove the buyer got the title.

MG Zoom Session
Monday 8 Feb 2021
7:00 pm Eastern for Two Hours
All MG Enthusiasts welcome
Join scores of MG enthusiasts for another Zoom MG Session. These sessions usually last about two and a half hours. Enthusiasts have logged in from Japan, New Zealand, Australia, England, Mexico, Netherlands, Columbia, Canada, and all over the US. Ask questions, comment in the "Chat" section, and enjoy the banter among the participants.

Some enthusiasts have been thwarted in getting onto Zoom -- I am not certain why. In case it was a password problem, I've just moved to "Twist" as the regular password..

This week's beginning topic will be the X Series engine fitted to the TB and postwar TCs TDs and TFs.

For years we contributed to the MG Foundation (that's Myasthenia Gravis) by sponsoring a 50/50 raffle at our birthday party. MG-MI is a small organization assisting people who have this rare auto-immune neuromuscular disease. It only seems natural to support a cause and this one shares our initials. Plus, my dad had it. Consider offering them some support!. https://mg-mi.org/

No need to wear a mask.
Enjoy this in the comfort of your office.

John Twist is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
