Could a newbie to the Club get a quick description of what the Rallye actually is? Got to see the beautiful trophies on the zoom meeting but didn’t get to hear what u actually do there.
Thanks

Hello Everyone,

The fall Rallye against the Triumph Club is coming up in two weeks. I would like to get an idea of who will be attending so if you could RSVP that would help out with spacing at the end.

Thanks

Monthly Zoom Meeting / Mini Tech Session!

Roger Williams

Hello All

Thanks for all your collective help this evening during our monthly Zoom meeting. It certainly was instructional. I was able to much better understand the assistance Chip Krout and Bob Hitchiner provided via email. Thanks Chip and Bob.

George, thank you for your offer re: the mini binnacle. When you are able to send a picture my email is rogerotto@alumni.psu.edu.

Kevin I will try to remove the interior light base so you can determine if this is a candidate for your 3D printer. Kenn also expressed an interest.

I just received a MK1 car show judging form from a member of one of my mini forums. I will also follow up with the suggestions received - AACA and Paul Hanley (Maryland).

Thanks again one and all!

My real question is how do I “hook it up”.
What am I connecting it to?

I know the fuel pump works since I tested it after I rebuilt it.
I assume the fuel pump starts with a turn of the ignition key.

So... back to how to “hook up” the battery.

Maybe we can discuss this evening during the Zoom meeting.

Thanks

I don't see why you can't take your bench battery, properly charged, and hook it up and test the systems. The motor is just a battery charger as far as your electric is concerned. You can test the fuel pump carefully with a helper. The key on/starter line can be tested with a volt meter.

Re: How to test switches with new wiring harness

Chip Krout <chip19474@...>

Roger,

Assuming that you've installed the new wiring harness to the fuse block and fitted new fuses plus also connected every ground wire in the harness to appropriate ground points, I would connect the probes of a digital voltmeter  (set on "buzz" or "tone" option) across the wires which connect to the device at the device you want to operate, then operate the corresponding switch.  If you get a tone or buzz from the meter when you operate the switch, you're good to go.

Example: horns...find the horn wires where the horns will be.  Connect the meter (set to buzz or tone) probes to the horn wire connectors.  Press the horn button....meter should buzz.

Sounds tedious but should go smoothly. ..hopefully you have a,wiring diagram.

Re: RBW EV roadster (electric MGB)

Great idea.  Salty price.  One comment in the article suggested a fragrance to replace the  gas, oil, grease and glycol smells in fossil fuel versions.  Maybe ozone.

Companies are springing up to EV classics which I think is a great idea.

Thanks for sharing.
