Wheels at Wood Car Show News
Hi, folks -
I regret to say that due to a decision by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Archbishop Wood High School and the Fighting Robovikings robotics team have been prevented from hosting the 2020 Wheels at Wood Car Show, which was originally scheduled for October 3rd. The Archdiocese is working from “an abundance of caution” and was concerned about the students who would be working at the event bringing an acquired infection back into the school on the following Monday. Thank you all for your past support of our shows, and we look forward to seeing you all again at our 2021vWheels at Wood show. Cheers, Kevin McLemore

Saturday August 29, 2020 Skippack Meetup--9am
If interested, the next informal Saturday morning Meet Up/Cars and Coffee is scheduled for this Friday, August 29, 2020 in Skippack from approx. 9am-10:30am. If you'd like to attend we'll be meeting this time in the parking lot just behind Park Bistro just off of 73--see map. It's early enough in the morning so I don't think we'll be interfering with any shopppers, but if we need to move we will.

Hi Roger, the tear on the back of the front seat has some hope . The tear on the white tuck and roll of the rear seat is a difficult repair. These english vinyls have a thin layer of vinyl on a woven backing , hence the right angle nature of the tears. These everflex vinyls are actually pretty strong but they tend to get stiff with age and a fresh soft vinyl repair is hard to get a nice welded bond with the new ,low temperature cure ,soft repair vinyl. As a result the bond the will easily crack and open along the stiff old edge without good support from a backing material to bridge the opening. The front seat back can at least have a patch glued on the back of the vinyl to bridge the gap. The back seat poses two problems in that without access to the backing no support can be attached , and on a seating surface it will naturally be subjected to abrasion and stress from stretching under the pressure of someone sitting on it. I have used those vinyl repair kits with the soldering-iron like thing, but with mixed results. Willow Grove Auto Top has a pretty good reputation - perhaps you might take it to them and see what they think.

We had a problem with mail being blacklisted too. The remedy to get off the blacklist is tedious and starts at your ISP. Please contact them and stay on top with requests for daily updates or your request will be lost in the noise of other problems they are truing to resolve. ISPs point their mail to a MEF server (Malicious Email Filter) for DNS scrubbing. Addresses in the MEF and sent to a sinkhole or redirected to a safe site. v/r

Thank you to those who have sent me another email address. Let me clarify why I am asking for them. Because we use a closed group email list you will (or should) always receive emails that I or anyone with a phillymgclub email address send out to the entire club via groups.io. The problem comes into play when we try to send to specific people vs through the entire group list. For some reason the server thinks that the phillymgclub email address is spam and therefore has gotten blacklisted on the Yahoo/AOL/Verizon server. I hope that makes sense 😊. Anyway I will add the emails that have been provided to my contact list so that I can send emails if and when needed. Those who did send me another email address please continue to use the one you normally use when sending emails to the groups.io email address. I am not sure if it would help or not but if you have some time you may even want to contact your email provider and tell them that phillymgclub.com is not a spam email address and that they need to allow the emails from that address to come through 😉. I hope this email finds you all well. I wanted to let you know that after much deliberation it has been decided by the PMGC Board of Directors that we will be cancelling/postponing this years Brits at The Village Car Show due to the following COVID concern: Wearing masks, keeping track of attendance, enforcing social distancing, banning spectators, et cetera, would make for a tedious event While this is not what we had hoped for we also feel that it is the safest decision we could make for all of our PMGC friends and family. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to making our 2021 Brits at The Village Show even more spectacular!
