On this episode of the MG Car Club Podcast , renowned motoring historian, Graham Robson joins Wayne Scott to explore the story of the Abingdon Works Competition Department, where so many successful MG race and rally cars were developed. This year marks the anniversary of its closure so offers an ideal chance to explore the contribution made to the British Motor Industry from within the MG factory in Abingdon.

MGB Register and Midget Register cancel further events due to pandemic

The MGB Register have taken then difficult decision to cancel their Summer picnic that was due to be held on 9th August at Millets Farm. Although some professional events organisations and venues are being given special exemptions to organise events, private and informal gatherings are still limited to thirty people.

The Midget Register has also confirmed that their Road Run, due to take place at Timothy’s Restaurant, Fosseway Garden Centre, Moreton-in-Marsh has been also been cancelled for this year.

It is with sadness we have to report the passing of a staunch MGCC supporter and founder of the well respected Beech Hill Garage, Ted de la Rivière.

MG Motor Middle East prepare to open branches in Iraq

MG Motor is continuing its rapid expansion across the Middle East with the announcement that GB Auto has been appointed as the brand’s exclusive distributor in Iraq with their first dealership preparing to open in early August.

The new partnership will eventually see six MG showrooms opened across the country: in Erbil, Baghdad (on 62 St and at Baghdad Mall), Duhok, Sulaymaniyah and Basrah. The Erbil showroom will be the first to open, with sales starting in the first week of August 2020.
