AD9851 Output Voltage
Alfredo Mendiola Loyola
Dear All: I have built an AD9851 Module, It has an output voltage of 250 mv peak 2 peak (-8dBm) with a 50 Ohm load. I want to use the signal with an impedance bridge to measure Complex impedance and SWR. Is the output voltage enough to use it with an impedance bridge like an Antenna Analyzer? I don't want to use an opamp amplifier (AD8008) because it adds harmonics to the AD9851 output signal. Regards. Alfredo Mendiola Loyola Lima, Peru |

Mvs Sarma
250mV , IMHO may be insufficient.
you could also try two transistor amplifier using 2N2222s. It gives a gain of 23dBm as I understand. added to that if you want output of DDS to be stable across band , you could study and implement ALC element. here is the link CWTD - May 26, 2014
