AD9851 module

I ordered an AD9851 module via eBay. Got it yesterday. Connected it to a Type II PHSNA board today. Had a cockpit issue (not unusual for me) but now it's working fine with the Windows GUI.

I ordered two modules at different times from this outfit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131502143562?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Both came within two to three weeks (don’t have record on exactly they were received). Seem to work OK but can’t say I actually measured the output level. Frequency range checked out with a counter. Please consider sharing the name of the bad supplier.

I ordered an AD9851 module from a Chinese eBay seller on Dec 6. It arrived yesterday, Dec 17. It appears to be the correct module. I haven't connected it to anything, so I don't know if it works or not. Gary On Dec 17, 2015, at 11:14pm, "Jim Pruitt jpruitt67@... [PHSNA]" <PHSNA@...> wrote:
About a month ago someone posted on the list about an ebay seller listinig AD9851 modules for a reasonable price. I decided to give it a try. BIG MISTAKE! The seller sent me some other module, not even dds. It looked like a $1 dc charge controller board. The seller refused to make any attempt to make good on the sale and his mistake. I finally got ebay/pay pal to get my money back but now am back to looking for an AD9851 module to try. Has anyone bought one on ebay and had a good experience? How did the module turn out electrically (was it a factory second like the gazillion AD9850 modules were touted to be)? How long did it take to arrive? Just curious and do not want to make the same mistake again. Thank you. Jim Pruitt |

you might add also ALC section as add on and thereafter you get constant output across full range .
Here is the link to the ALC element. CWTD - May 26, 2014

If I was starting all over again, I'd get the DDS-60 module. Yes, it costs more - but it has a buffer amp and low pass filter, ready to go. Just my $0.02. --Alan Campbell |
